Chapter 1685 Xu Nanpyo

The leaders and professors of this group of KAIST are both middle-aged and elderly men, all wearing suits and tie, and most of them are wearing glasses. Among this group of people, Professor Song, who is in his forties, is considered young and handsome.

Professor Song is a top professor at KAIST School of Engineering and an internationally renowned professor. He also taught at the University of California, Los Angeles in the United States in his early years. UCLA is a top-ranked university in the world.

In fact, many top professors from South Korea have had experience teaching abroad, especially in the United States. For example, KAIST president Xu Nanpyo, who taught at MIT for 40 years in the United States. For example, Lee Soon-hwan, after completing his doctorate degree in the Film Department of the Dishi School of Art at New York University in the United States, he also stayed at New York University for a year to teach. This also reflects South Korea's admiration for Europe and the United States, especially the United States. As long as those who spend Kim in the United States will often have good developments when they return to South Korea. Kim Jingcheng's mother Kim Hyo-hee and lawyer Liu Min-jeong went to study in the United States, there was such a factor.

Professor Song is also a leader of KAIST. He is the deputy director of the Department of Chemistry and Biomolecular Engineering of the KAIST School of Engineering. Qiu Suye’s university major is chemistry and biomolecular engineering. Therefore, for Qiu Suye, Professor Song is a noble person and a big shot.

However, there are a group of leaders and professors gathered at the gate of KAIST today. Not only the president Xu Nanpyo, but also the vice president, there is also the dean of the School of Engineering and the director of the Department of Chemistry and Biomolecular Engineering. Relatively speaking, Professor Song, the deputy director of the Department of Chemistry and Biomolecular Engineering, is also inconspicuous, making Qiu Suyan feel that Professor Song is nothing compared to Jin Jing becoming a big shot.

Professor Song felt a little unhappy. In his opinion, the university is a sacred place, while the university professor is a sacred existence. Moreover, this is KAIST. He felt that even if the president arrived, there was no need to create a welcome scene like today, as this would be a loss of identity.

Professor Song was unhappy with the principal Xu Nanpyo and felt that Xu Nanpyo was too flattering. In fact, Professor Song still admired Kim Jingcheng very much. Professor Song didn't care about Kim Jingcheng's identity as a world star and an associate professor at the university, but was concerned about Kim Jingcheng's identity as a rich Korean.

Xu Nanpyo is a person who likes to curry favor with senior officials and chaebols. Professor Song is actually such a person, but he is not as obvious as Xu Nanpyo. Because of this mentality, Professor Song will place some photos of him and Korean chaebols in his office.

Professor Song knew that even a top science and engineering university like KAIST would need to cooperate with capitalists. He knew that Jin Jingcheng came to KAIST today, most of the time to discuss cooperation, and wanted to invest in KAIST to do scientific research.

Therefore, Professor Song felt it was necessary to welcome Jin Jingcheng well, but the welcome formation that Xu Nanpyo created today was indeed too flattering. Professor Song felt that Xu Nanpyo could lead a few leaders and professors to welcome him at school, rather than bringing a group of leaders and professors to the gate to greet him.

This is not the first time Xu Nanpyo has done this. Since Xu Nanpyo became the principal of KAIST in July last year, Xu Nanpyo has created several major battles to welcome this group in the past six months. The last time he created such a group was Xu Qingpei, president of AmorePacific Group.

Not only did Professor Song think so, Jin Jingcheng also felt that Xu Nanpyo was a little too flattering when she greeted him today. Before coming, Jin Jingcheng didn't expect that Xu Nanpyo would take a group of leaders and professors to wait at the gate.

Kim Jingcheng naturally couldn't pay much attention to Koreans like Xu Nanpyo in his previous life, but he still has some understanding.

Jin Jingcheng remembers a news report he saw in his previous life.

It is reported that since Xu Nanpyo served as the president of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology in July 2006, he has vigorously promoted reforms. On the one hand, he likes to flatter capitalists because he wants to lead KAIST to engage in more "high-risk, high-reward" research projects, so he needs to cooperate with capitalists; on the other hand, he broke the iron rice bowl of professor KAIST for the first time and abolished the orderly faculty and staff appointment system for the elderly and the young, so he was hated by many professors.

Xu Nanpyo said in an interview: "The biggest risk of being a professor is to encounter campus shootings. The reforms I implemented touched the nerves of many people, and my friends suggested that I hire a personal bodyguard."

The report also said that during his tenure as KAIST principal, many professors at the school hoped that he would resign.

In early 2011, KAIST was held morally responsible for successive student suicides. For this reason, KAIST's professors association asked Xu Nanpyo to resign. They asked Xu Nanpyo to resign again on January 12, 2012. From January 9 to January 12, the KAIST professors association conducted a news survey on whether they agreed to the "Resolution of Urging Xu Nanpyo to Removal". The survey results showed that 75.5% (289) of the professors (383) participated in the survey agreed to urging Xu Nanpyo to resign.

The professors' association believes that "watching Xu Nanpyo's image of being arbitrary, stubborn, and lack of responsibility, we feel that he can no longer lead KAIST forward." "If Xu Nanpyo refuses to resign voluntarily, we will urge the Council to issue a decision to step down." KAIST Chairman Wu Ming also asked Xu Nanpyo to resign through informal channels, which made Xu Nanpyo suffer from the pressure of resigning in full, but Xu Nanpyo said that he hoped to "build KAIST into a world-recognized university and change the wrong university culture" and refused to resign.

Although he was disgusted and opposed by many professors on campus, Xu Nanpyo eventually resigned in 2013.

Regarding Xu Nanpyo, Kim Jong-sung has read this news report about him in his previous life.

In this regard, Kim Jong-sung felt that even though Seon Nam-pyo did have bad things, he could not completely deny this person. Since reform is needed, how could he not encounter opposition? And Kim Jong-sung knew that many Koreans had such a urinary nature, and they liked to get angry if they were a little dissatisfied.

On the contrary, Kim Jong-sung felt that Seon Nampyo was more useful to him. Such a KAIST principal who likes to flatter capitalists and acts arbitrarily in the school can make Kim Jong-sung realize his plan and let him "use" KAIST. If the KAIST principal was not a person like Seon Nampyo, but a serious and cautious old man, then Kim Jong-sung might not have found KAIST university to cooperate with.

Xu Nanpyo approached him enthusiastically and held Jin Jingcheng's hand excitedly: "President Jin, welcome your arrival."

Jin Jingcheng felt that the other party was a little overly flattering, and still smiled on his face: "Hello, Principal Xu, I'm going to trouble you today."

Xu Nanpyo hurriedly said with a smile: "No trouble, no trouble, it is our honor to be able to come to KAIST like you."

After hearing this, several famous professors turned their attention away, thinking that the principal was really embarrassing to KAIST.

Professor Song suddenly looked surprised. He found Qiu Suyan who was following Jin Jingcheng...
