Chapter 15 The spoils of the Premier League team

The conversation was divided into two branches. After leaving the Paris Saint-Germain headquarters, Zhuang Mingge and Karin saw that it was almost dusk, so they decided to choose a high-end hotel nearby.

When checking in, although Zhuang Mingge wanted to live in the same room with Karin and have a night attack or something, he thought about Karin's combat effectiveness that broke through the sky. For his personal safety, Zhuang Mingge finally gave up this unrealistic plan and honestly booked two single rooms next to each other.

Although Zhuang Mingge is now wearing the outer skin of a Westerner, he has traditional Chinese inner self, which makes Zhuang Mingge not very yearning for Western nightlife; and although Karin is very lively and cheerful, she is also an alternative person who doesn't like nightlife. Seeing the street lights outside, the two of them returned to their respective rooms to rest in a tacit understanding.

Although Karin said before entering the room, "Tony, come over if you want to sleep with me," the innocent young man Zhuang Mingge didn't sleep well all night.

The next day, when Karin saw Zhuang Mingge with a pair of dark circles, she burst into laughter: "Haha... Tony, you won't have insomnia because of my words, right?"

"Talent, not! I just can't adapt to that bed!" Zhuang Mingge hurriedly explained, but unfortunately, no matter how you look, it is unconvincing.

"Okay, OK, I know you didn't have insomnia because of that sentence~" Karin decided to save face for Zhuang Mingge and pulled Zhuang Mingge toward the restaurant. "The restaurant that comes with this hotel looks very good, go for breakfast first."

The two were tasting breakfast in the restaurant. At this time, Zhuang Mingge received a call from Michelle:

"Hello, Mr. Michelle, I didn't expect there would be a reply so soon."

"Good morning, Mr. Corleon, I have bad news here to tell you that yesterday our club received a offer from Blackburn Club in the Premier League. They are willing to pay $12 million to buy the midfielder David Ginora of our club." Michelle's tone on the other end of the phone looked extremely abominable in Zhuang Mingge's ears. "So, I have to inform you that if Fiorentina is unwilling to offer $12 million for David, we will cancel the transfer negotiations with your club."

"Shit!" Zhuang Mingge cursed in his heart. Historically, Blackburn will introduce Christopher Sutton from Norwich at the end of this season. There should be no extra funds to introduce other big-name players. Could it be that it is the "butterfly effect" brought by himself as a time traveler?

What Zhuang Mingge didn't know was that Ginola would have led Paris Saint-Germain to win the Ligue 1 championship this season, so the club naturally would not let this key player go, so Ginola naturally had no chance to go to England.

The current situation is that Ginola wants to leave, and Paris Saint-Germain doesn't want to leave this hot potato, and just plans to sell him for a good price.

But 12 million US dollars is really outrageous. Although Zhuang Mingge just made a profit of 50 million US dollars by betting on football, he could not spend money casually to buy people. If he spent 12 million for one Ginola, it would be equivalent to giving managers of other clubs a signal: "The Fiorentines are stupid, there is a lot of money, come quickly." In the future, the club will have to be cheated by other teams to death.

The most typical example is Chelsea and Manchester City in later generations. Everyone knows that they have money and don’t care about spending money. So when these two clubs come to buy people, the players’ value will automatically increase by 30% or even more.

Zhuang Mingge did not intend to be such a sucker. He thought for a moment and replied:

"Mr. Michelle, $12 million is not a small amount. Let's do it, I need to think about it all morning. I will call you at noon. I hope the Saint-Germain Club will not make a decision based on it."

"Okay, I will wait until one pm. If you haven't received your reply after this time, I can only regret it and say sorry." Michelle finished speaking, and then hung up the phone.

On the other side of the phone, Zhuang Mingge held the phone in his hand tightly, dazed and didn't know what he was thinking.

Karin soon discovered Zhuang Mingge's abnormality and asked with concern: "Tony, what did the Paris Saint-Germain Club say? Is there any bad news?"

"Yes, a very bad news. Blackburn from the Premier League intervened in Ginola's transfer." Zhuang Mingge smiled bitterly and repeated Michelle's words on the phone to Karin, "It seems that we can't get Ginola."

"When did the Englishman be so rich?" Karin was so surprised that she couldn't stop talking, her expression was very cute. "You can actually take out so many transfer fees to bring in players. It seems that Blackburn's boss is really rich."

Regarding Karin's words, Zhuang Mingge just smiled and did not explain much. Of course, he knew that the reason why Premier League teams can attract players is mainly due to the commercial operation of the Premier League. Just for the TV broadcast fee, the 20 Premier League teams can earn a total of 191 million pounds by 1997, not to mention the income from the league's naming rights and the income of the surrounding products of each club.

"Karin, help me answer the phone number of Blackburn club head coach Daglish." Zhuang Mingge knew that the transfer power of Premier League clubs was generally in the hands of the head coach. He wanted to know what Darglish had, whether he wanted to make a gimmick or really wanted to introduce Ginola.

Karin soon found the phone number and signaled that Zhuang Mingge had already called Daglish. Zhuang Mingge nodded and took the phone: "Hello, Mr. Daglish, I am the new chairman of the Florence Club, Antonio Corleone."

"Hello, I am the head coach of Blackburn Club, Kenny Dalglish." Daglish's voice sounded from his phone, "What's the point of Mr. Corleone asking me?"

"I heard that Blackburn plans to spend $12 million to buy David Ginola. Is it true that Mr. Dalglish?" Zhuang Mingge was not long-winded and pointed out the topic directly. "If this matter is true, don't you think the price is too outrageous?"

When Daglish heard this, he immediately understood that Fiorentina had also participated in the transfer: "Yes, I think David Ginola can be the perfect attacking combination with Alan Shearer, and our club can indeed afford the transfer fee. Mr. Corleon, although you may be able to afford the money, I still want to remind you that I don't think a team in the top league in England is as good as a club that can only stay in the Italian second division."

"Haha, I will remember." Zhuang Mingge's tone did not fluctuate at all, but in fact he was already angry by Daglish's words: Isn't this cursing us that Florence cannot be promoted?

"That's the end of the conversation. Good luck, Mr. Daglish." Zhuang Mingge hung up the phone with a pale face. He finally began to understand the difficulties of a team in the B League when introducing players. Just because the team is always at a disadvantage when competing with those teams in the top league in the B League, he has been digging Filicano and Kripa in the summer transfer period, making him feel a little fluttered.

Tsk, let you be proud in front of me now, the story of Blackburn's relegation after winning the championship was laughed at by countless teams.

Zhuang Mingge thought of this, his face became a little better. Then he called Michelle to tell Fiorentina that he gave up his offer to Ginola. After the two said goodbye to each other on the phone, Zhuang Mingge said helplessly to Karin: "Daglish is determined to get Ginola. It seems that we have to give up. Fiorentina does not have the ability to spend money to buy players yet."

Karin didn't say much, but just went up and gently held Zhuang Mingge's arm. She knew that the young man in front of her had done his best to build Florence better. Now all he needed was a silent harbor of comfort and rest.
