83, set sail

Germany, Lübeck, North Sea Shipyard.

The largest shipyard in Germany seemed particularly busy after the war started. Not only did the No. 3 ship of the largest "Schernhorst" class battleship in the history of the German Navy, the USS Peter Strassell, also took on orders to build an aircraft carrier and two large air defense cruisers with a displacement of 13,000 tons for the Chinese Navy, but also built more than a dozen ships, including two large fuel supply ships and a large landing ship, for the German Navy.

Now the two newly built aircraft carriers with a displacement of more than 40,000 tons have been laid on the shipyard's platform. As the German Navy began to standardize and mass-manufacture the ships, and the adoption of a segmented construction model, the construction cycle of the ships has been shortened, which greatly improved the construction speed of the ships.

Before the war, the construction of the "Zeperlin-class aircraft carrier took nearly three years. After adopting new construction standards and processes, the "Guangxi" aircraft carrier built for the Chinese Navy was completed in just one year and nine months and started preparing for sea trials.

In the scorching sun, Major General Sa Shijun led all the officers and soldiers of the ship to line up on the deck, and a brief entrance ceremony was held on the dock. The German Navy Deputy Commander-in-Chief General Gujing attended the entrance ceremony for the new Chinese aircraft carrier. The German Navy's "Peter Strassell" aircraft carrier was also held at the same time as the Chinese Navy.

After a brief incoming ceremony, the two aircraft carriers, under the escort of two cruisers and four destroyers, entered the Baltic Sea and began their first sea training after completing the sea trial.

Before the outbreak of the total war, the Chinese Navy sent more than 10,000 people to conduct exercises and training in Europe. Due to this new shipbuilding order, nearly 7,000 people were recruited from more than 500,000 expatriates in Europe to join the navy. Now, there are more than 20,000 Chinese naval officers and soldiers conducting training and exercises in Europe. This provides enough troops for the construction of the Chinese Navy.

The "Guangxi" and "Peter Strassell" are both "Zepplin-class aircraft carriers, with a standard staffing of 2,869 people, but they are not fully equipped at present, mainly aviation troops, and only one-third of the personnel have completed the on-land landing training, so the air wing, which is now organized as 1,250 people, only more than 900 people are on the ship. And they only carry 35 carrier-based aircraft of various types.

Since the production of the Mercesmit BF109 fighter jet cannot meet the needs of the army, the German Navy chose the latest FW190 fighter jet developed by Folk Wolf as a carrier-based fighter jet. Since the initially ordered liquid-cooled engines produced by Mercedes and Junckers were not available, the FW190 fighter jet uses a new 14-cylinder star-shaped air-cooled engine produced by the 1,600-horsepower Bavarian engine manufacturer, so the nose looks thicker. Because the air-cooled engine is simpler than the liquid-cooled engine, it is easier to maintain, and is more suitable for the navy's requirements for carrier-based aircraft performance, the FW190 became a designated carrier-based fighter jet designated by the German Navy.

By noon, the entire formation met with two Chinese cruisers "Yuefei" and "Li Guang" that were conducting maritime training here in the north of Kubitz Bay. In addition, there were two new battleships "Marshal Scher" and "Marshal Hindenburg" that had just been in service in the German Navy. The aircraft carrier "Graf Zeppelin" and the escort formation composed of six light warships. Such a huge scale made Sa Shijun jealous.

Sa Shijun had previously learned of the joint training plan formulated by the German Navy. This huge formation will go deep into the Bay of Pondia for a long-distance maritime training and testing, mainly to test the long-distance navigation performance of warships, and to conduct a half-month high-intensity training for the crew.

The German-class super battleship equipped by the German Navy looks much more majestic than the two aircraft carriers. The four thick turrets and ten 410mm mainly exudes an unconcealed murderous aura. The warships are like hedgehogs with 16 dual-equipped 127mm high-level dual-purpose cannons and nearly 140 anti-aircraft cannons of various calibers, making them one of the most destructive killing weapons in the world.

Sa Shijun and some Chinese naval generals were invited to visit the "Marshal Hindenburg".

Standing on the tall bridge of the Hindenburg, carefully examining the peak masterpiece of this huge and domineering giant ship cannon era. Sa Shijun couldn't help but sigh that the Chinese Navy may never have the chance to have the masterpiece of such an era.

It was not that he was self-deprecating, but as the times changed, battleships were about to withdraw from the stage of history. The German Navy had begun to convert two "Scharnhorst"-class battleships with a displacement of 55,000 tons into aircraft carriers. This was also the general trend. Even when the "Guangxi" was facing such a heavy battleship, Sa Shijun was confident that he would fight and flee in panic 200 nautical miles away, and even sink it.

The king of the past has declined and glory is no longer there.

Of course, in the minds of ordinary people, an aircraft carrier is still incomparable to the deterrent effect of such a heavy battleship moving at sea against the enemy. This is the traditional thinking effect.

Germany's choice to continue to build two "Schernhorst" class battleships was more due to political considerations.

The fleet sailed on the Baltic Sea, and there was actually nothing that could threaten their power. The Soviet Russian Navy, which was very weak, was strictly blocked in the Gulf of Finland after the war began. However, occasionally one or two submarines would venture through the blockade line arranged by the German Navy and sneak into the Baltic Sea for activities, causing small storms. After Germany occupied Norway, British ships and submarines completely disappeared in the Baltic Sea and could not see any trace.

The "Guangxi" and "Peter Strassell" conducted takeoff and landing training for the plane in the afternoon. The takeoff was smooth, but they were messy and full of mischief when landing. The pilots were always eager to brake after landing on the deck, and their fuselage was crooked, which made people frightened. One plane skidded directly, hitting the bridge head-on, and the left wing was smashed to pieces. Two other planes took the big roof because of the rush to stop, and all the propellers were damaged.

This made Sa Shijun, who had been standing on the bridge to watch the training, frowned. If such an aviation unit was really to be pulled to the sea, he would basically only be beaten. Fortunately, the Germans' situation was not much better than that of him, and the training in the afternoon also damaged two planes.
