Chapter 1 The Death of Widow Lee

"Die, die, die..." A terrified shout broke the dawn of "Taohua Town".

With the shouting, a man in his thirties, wearing yellow clothes ran from east to south along a street in the town. The man looked horrified, as if he had seen something terrible. He shouted and almost fell down while running.

When the townsmen who had just gotten up heard such screams, many people ran out of their houses and looked out curiously.

A man in his forties, dressed in strong clothes rushed over from another street and ran, cursing, "Damn, who yelled like a mourning early in the morning? Do you want me to go to bed?"

The man cursed and ran faster than a rabbit. After a while, he turned to the street and happened to meet the shouting man.

"Wang San, what are you calling? Why don't you stop?" The man stretched out his hand and pushed the man away.

The man stopped, but he ran out of breath. He suddenly grabbed the man's arm, his legs trembled, and he almost fell to the ground.

"Wang San, you and I have stood firm. What a big deal. With me, Zhang Bao, your legs are weak, what do you look like?" the man shouted.

The man gasped for a few breaths, pointed his hand back, and said, "Boss Zhang, Li... Widow Li..."

"What's wrong with Widow Li?"

"She...she's dead..."

"Die? How did you die?"

"No...I don't know, it seems to be killed by someone..."

"What?"

Zhang Bao raised his eyebrows, and a look of excitement and confusion appeared on his face. He suddenly pushed Wang San away, and he moved his body together, and had been going for more than ten feet. When he arrived at the entrance of the town, he ran along a mountain road beside the avenue to a family inside and outside.

Everyone in the town knows that there is a middle-aged woman living in the entrance of the town. People in the town heard that she was a widow with her husband's surname Li, so many people call her Widow Li.

At this time, the door of Widow Li's house was open and the room was messy. Widow Li was lying on her back motionless in a pool of blood. Looking at the blood on the ground, Widow Li died less than an hour, which was about half an hour before dawn.

Zhang Bao ran to the gate of Widow Li's house and saw Widow Li's miserable situation. He couldn't help but breathe a breath of air. Widow Li's eyes were wide open and her whole body was covered in blood.

"My mother, which bastard did this? If I asked me to find him, I would have to cut him three times." Zhang Bao said, stretched out his hand and touched his waist, and then he remembered that he did not carry his waist knife when he was about to go out.

In the past five years, not to mention that there has been no murder in "Taohua Town", even if it hurts people, it will not be seen three times a year. Therefore, Zhang Bao forgot to take the knife for a while.

Soon, twenty untidy men ran out of the town, followed by a large group of town people.

After the twenty big men came to the yard in front of Widow Li's house, a big man in his thirties with two small beards and medium-sized figure handed a sword to Zhang Bao and shouted: "Head, your waist knife."

Zhang Bao reached out to take the sword and scolded, "Damn it, look at you, where are you looking like a security guard at the 'Taohua Town'?"

Twenty men were timid and quickly tidied up their clothes. They were all wearing yellow clothes, with big swords on their waists, and a round mark was embroidered with red thread on their shoulders.

Everyone in the "Ming Empire" knows that the round mark represents an identity. However, if nothing in the mark means that their identity is the lowest level and cannot even be considered a detective. The lowest-level detective will have a golden line inside the mark.

The heads of these twenty "crews" are Zhang Bao. There is a line in the round mark on his shoulder, but the line is not golden, but yellow, which means that he is not a constable, but a "crew".

...

Dozens of townsmen heard that Widow Li was dead, and all rushed to the yard. In the town, people kept running out, and they knew they were coming to watch the fun at first glance. A 14 or 15-year-old boy with a childish face but a tall figure almost the same as an ordinary man stood in the crowd, holding an axe in his hand, and curiously looked at Widow Li's house.

At this time, a group of "subsiders" had already protected the scene under the command of Zhang Bao.

Through the gap between the two men, the young man saw Widow Li's death at a glance. He was angry and shouted in his heart: "Aunt Li is a good person. Since he came here a year ago, he has made a living by grinding tofu. I don't know who killed her, so that I knew who did it. I split him in half like chopping wood to vent my anger for Aunt Li."

Zhang Bao saw the boy at first sight, waved his hand, and said to the boy: "Xiaofeng, what's the beauty here? You haven't gone into the mountain to chop wood? If you let Aunt Chun know that you are lazy, you will be scolded for you again." He knew that he knew this boy.

"Uncle Bao, you have to find the murderer and avenge Aunt Li." said the young man.

"Go away, go away, I know how to do it." Zhang Baojiang waved his hand again.

The young man said "um" and then turned around and walked back from the way he came.

When he walked to the entrance of the town, he saw a slightly fat man in his early fifties, wearing a very wealthy dress, and a round hat walked up quickly. Beside him, two men in their forties were followed. When he saw his body and the long sword on his back, he knew that he was a Jianjiazi.

"The mayor is here."

The young man shouted in his heart and walked from the avenue at the entrance of the town. After he walked about a mile, he looked back and saw that the mayor had already arrived at the yard of Widow Li's house and was talking to Zhang Bao.

The boy tightened the axe in his hand and ran fast with his legs. After a while, he arrived at the foot of the mountain.

"Taohua Town" is a large town in the smallest of the three southwestern provinces of the "Da Ming Empire" - "Da Qian Province", and is affiliated to "Baoan County".

This "Taohua Town" is surrounded by mountains and rivers, and is located at the intersection between "Da Qian Province" and the largest "Da Shu Province" among the three southwestern provinces. Because its geographical location is very important, it is more prosperous than many market towns, and is no less than those small border counties.

The young man came to the foot of the mountain and was about to enter the mountain when he suddenly heard a gloomy voice coming from behind him, saying, "Boy, do you like watching the fun?"

The young man was startled and turned around quickly. He saw a burly man with a red face and a messy hair standing there.

The boy was tall enough, but the burly man was even taller than him, with a fat face, and looked very fierce.
