9 The pace of construction of the new team

"Mr. Kilby, now that I have become the club's head coach, I'm going to get into my work state, and I have already figured out the players the club needs in the new season. I want to ask how much transfer fee the club can give me." After the press conference, George and Kilby returned to the club directly. In Kilby's office, George directly asked the most core question.

Kilby personally made coffee for George, and then smiled and said, "George, you've not thought about it, but many people have already contacted me." George nodded while drinking coffee. "George, this time the board of directors has made great determination to support you. The club will give you a transfer fee of 1.3 million pounds. I hope you don't disappoint the board."

George almost jumped up and kissed Kilby. 1.3 million pounds were worth noting for those Premier League teams. But for Burnley, who is struggling in the second division, it is definitely a huge amount of funds. Even in the first division, the transfer funds for those mid- and lower-stream teams in the year are just that.

"Thank you, Mr. Kilby. I will definitely not disappoint the club." George was ecstatic. With 1.3 million pounds, George's team could truly complete it.

…………

After George came out of Kilby's office, he held a coaching meeting. Although those coaches George are familiar with them, he should have met them as the head coach now.

"I'll introduce you to everyone. From now on, Wilkinson is responsible for the club's youth team. Carl Pat will appear in the first team. The person next to me is Evan Sawyer, and he will join our coaching staff starting this season." George first introduced Carl Pat and Evan Sawyer to them. Then he introduced several people here to Evan Sawyer. "This is coach Thompson, coach Carmel Thomas, coach Sani Griffin, and coach Wilkinson. At the end is our team's captain Mitchell King."

George's coaching team is relatively simple. If it weren't for promoting Carl Pat and introducing Evan Sawyer, there would be only three coaches. The three coaches were basically qualified coaches of the club. At least they have been in the club for more than 20 years, and their coaching skills depend entirely on their own experience.

"In the future, everyone will have to eat in the same pot, and everyone is familiar with each other, so I won't be polite to you. The board of directors will give us a transfer fee of 1.3 million pounds this year. I already have a goal for the new season. Carl, let's talk about the situation of those two players first." After everyone sat down, George was not polite at all.

Except for Carl Pat, who just passed thirty and Evan Sawyer was less than thirty, the other coaches here are all in their fifties. George knew that these coaches were dissatisfied with George. So George never thought that he could convince them all at once. When George's grades came out, they would naturally have nothing to say.

Carl didn't expect George to be the first to ask himself, but he still took the notes in his pocket very quickly. "Gary Brin performed well at Gillingham. As a defender, he could be a header and a position. Gillingham was just a Division C, and they wanted 50,000 pounds. As for Darren Hackby, he was very famous in Division C, and many clubs were very interested in him, so at least it should be more than 100,000 pounds."

Thompson and Thomas and others next to him looked at each other, not expecting that George had already thought about which players to introduce without any discussion. Although he usually knew that George was a strong personality when working together, he definitely did not expect George to use this trick.

"In this way, Carl Gary Brin and Darren Huckby must win 200,000 pounds. This matter is left to you. You must see the two of them in the new season." George was scolding in his heart that money was rampant in the football world. If it were last year, Gary Brin and Darren Huckby would not have 100,000 pounds even if they were combined together.

"Evan, the Crew team has not been promoted. What do you say about Danny Murphy?" The Crew team cannot be promoted. George had known for a long time that he was determined to win the new star, Danny Murphy.

Although Evan Sawyer was coming to Burnley for the first time, he still had a laughing expression. "George, I have met Danny Murphy's agent. He is very willing to go to our club, but the transfer fee should be between 200,000 and 300,000 pounds. It's not very cheap anyway." Evan said while giving George an ambiguous look. George understood at a glance. Evan must have promised to give Danny Murphy's agent a considerable kickback, so George also gave him a smile.

"Evan, 300,000 pounds is too expensive. About 200,000 pounds is not a problem. Who made Murphy have English nationality? Nationality in our country is also very valuable." George was very dissatisfied with the inflated value of English players.

After talking to Carl Pat and Evan Sawyer, George turned to Thompson. "Thompson, I have already talked to Mitchell. In the current lineup, Ian Coyd, Miller, and Grant must stay. As for David Ward, Aman Donaldson, Smith, and Clements can stay. The other midfielders and frontcourts are put in the transfer market. They are not in my plan."

"Wilkinson, Daniel Morrison and Ashley Chapman were transferred to the first team." Daniel Morrison and Ashley Chapman were George's favorite students in the youth team. The first thing George thought of after becoming the head coach was to transfer the two of them to the first team.

George has been a coach at the club for five years and knows everything about Burnley Club. From some directors to the guards and the staff who repair the stadium are very familiar with the players who need to stay in the new season.

"Do you have anything else to say?" After George finished his own words, he asked the few people present.

The few people here looked at each other and didn't know what to say. They never thought that George was so strong that he finished what he wanted to say. "It seems that nothing is wrong, so let's do your own things. Evan, please keep it."

Seeing everyone else leaving the office, George said to Evan: "How much does it cost to rebate for Danny Murphy's agent?"

"Two thousand pounds." Evan spoke softly in George's ear.

"Two thousand pounds, not much. Just deduct it from your salary. Evan, I have never promised to give a kickback to the agent. This is a foul. You can do it yourself." George laughed and left the office, not caring about Evan's crying behind him.

…………

After the meeting, Burnley was quick to move. Within a few days, he gradually got the people George needed. Gary Brin transferred from Gillingham to Burnley for 40,000 pounds, and Darren Huck transferred from Lincoln City to Burnley more than 120,000 pounds. Danny Murphy's transfer price was slightly higher, reaching 210,000 pounds. In this way, the transfer fee of the three men reached 370,000 pounds.

Immediately afterwards, Burnley reached an agreement with Zizkov Victoria, and Pobosky transferred to Burnley for 400,000 pounds. Barak and Klose, who were free signing in, and all six of the people in George's plan had completed the transfer.

But at this time, George calculated and found that he only spent 770,000 pounds. The board of directors allocated 1.3 million pounds of transfer fees, so George would not save that money. If George could not lead Burnley to achieve good results at the end of the season, the board of directors would not praise George's frugal style.

So George put his ideas on the Crew team again, who made Crew team an upgraded competitor and a lot of good players in the team. This time George targeted the Irish midfielder Neil Lunon. If Danny Murphy is still a new star with unlimited potential, then Neil Lunon is a player who can fight as a playground star.

However, Neil Rennon is the absolute main player of Crew, and Crew is definitely unwilling to sell it to Burnley's own main player. However, money is a good thing in this world. No matter how tough Crew is, he can't resist the offensive of money as a second-tier team. In addition, European football generally does not attach much importance to midfielders at this time, so Burnley finally spent 360,000 pounds to buy this powerful midfielder.

In the final transfer, George bought the powerful center Richard Brody from Stoke Port. Richard Brody scored 12 goals in the second division last season and was the main striker of Stoke Port. Stoke Port did not want to give up the main center, but when Burnley threw out 100,000 pounds, he immediately gave up the center. Richard Brody is already twenty-six years old and has been in the low-level league. For such a player, 100,000 pounds is already an astronomical figure. George actually looked down on a forward like Richard Brody, and he could only play in the low-level league. However, in the low-level league, it is still very necessary for players like Richard Brody to stay in the low-level league.

By now, all George's transfer work in the new season has been basically completed.

In this way, Burnley team has twenty-four people in the new season.
