181 Under the spy

The next morning, when all the workers were preparing to start work as they were a few days ago, they were surprised to find that Russian soldiers were standing at the entrance of the camp with live ammunition. The foreman in charge wanted to go out, but was immediately forced back by a bright bayonet. The Russian officer in charge replied loudly: "Until finding the missing person, everyone is not allowed to leave the camp, otherwise they will be treated as spies!"

The workers retreated, but these lucky people soon returned to the camp and enjoyed the rare August sunshine comfortably. A few brave ones even joked. Only Yang Lin was full of uneasiness. Even if Chen Chenglin was not caught, he could not go back as agreed.

It was about noon, and there was a noise outside the camp. Yang Lin, who was already frightened, jumped up from the grass shop. As soon as he walked out of the tent, he heard a voice coming from the outside:

"Catched!"

"I heard it was a Shunjun spy!"

"Oh, seeing that he is working hard, I didn't expect that he is a spy!"

Listening to the crowd's discussion, Yang Lin's face gradually turned pale. The worst situation he expected became a reality. The Russians would definitely torture Chen Chenglin to find other companions who might exist. When he thought of this, he felt as if he was about to fall down immediately.

A worker next to him noticed something wrong and asked with concern: "Kobayashi, what's wrong with you? You feel uncomfortable? Your face is so ugly?"

"It's nothing, it's just a little stomachache. It's probably because I got my stomach hurt in the morning!" Yang Lin covered up.

"Then go to the toilet quickly! Otherwise, the Russians will gather to name the name again later, and they will not be able to handle it in less than half an hour!"

At this time, a sharp whistle came from outside the camp. This was the whistle of gathering, and Yang Lin had to walk towards the small square where he gathered. Suddenly, he stopped and saw a man tied up on the earthen platform in the center of the small square. Two Russian soldiers stood behind him, looking at the figure and clothes of Chen Chenglin.

"It's over, everything is over!" Yang Lin's calves twitched unconsciously. He looked around from the corner of his eyes, looking for a way to escape, but he sadly discovered that all possible roads were Russian soldiers with guns and ammunition.

"This man is a Shunjun spy. He disguised himself as a laborer. He came here and went to the secrets of my Russian Empire!" Sasha grabbed Chen Chenglin's hair with his hand and lifted his lowered head up. Chen Chenglin's face was swollen and could not open his eyes. Obviously, after being arrested, the Russians cruelly tortured him.

"Now you have another chance to tell me where your companion is? You can save your life!" Sasha whispered.

Chen Chenglin raised his head weakly, looked at the people in front of him, and whispered: "I came alone, there is no one else except me!"

"Very good, you are a strong person!" Sasha said with a smile. Suddenly he used the butt of the pistol to hit Shen Chenglin's right cheek with a muffled sound. Chen Chenglin fainted.

"Wake him up!" Sasha ordered in a low voice. A Russian soldier took a spoonful of cold water and poured it on Shen Chenglin's head. Chen Chenglin's body twitched twice and woke up. Sasha grabbed his hair, leaned close to Chen Chenglin's face, and whispered: "I know you are a tough guy, but I tell you that no matter how hard your bones are, you will never be resurrected after death. Now I will ask you the last time, where is your companion!"

Chen Chenglin's eyes could no longer be opened. The heavy blow just now made his face completely swollen, and he squeezed his eyes to the point where he couldn't open it. He just grinned, as if he smiled, and his head lowered again. Sasha waved his right hand annoyed, and the Russian soldiers dragged Chen Chenglin under a big tree, tied his hands and feet, put his neck into a rope circle, and pulled it up hard. Chen Chenglin's body hanging in the air twitched violently for a few times, and soon stopped moving.

"Show this man's body for three days and then bury it!" Sasha ordered the soldiers. He looked at the workers in the open space, hesitated for a moment, and said, "Start work soon!"

"Yes, lieutenant!"

Yang Lin walked out of the camp with a pickaxe. Chen Chenglin's body was shaking in the air that was only five or six meters away from him. He tried his best to look at Chen Chenglin's body from the corner of his eyes, but this was not because of fear. At this time, Yang Lin no longer had fear in his heart. He just didn't want Chen Chenglin's sacrifice to lose value because of his negligence.

Three days later, it was raining in the sky, and a black shadow appeared next to the agreed reef, turning around, as if looking for something. Suddenly the black shadow stopped, leaned down, and dug something on the ground frantically.

Yang Lin dug on the ground with a dagger. There was an inconspicuous recess at the bottom of the reef, but it was refilled with gravel. Soon, the gravel was cleared. Yang Lin inserted the dagger into the sheath and began to fumble in the hole with his hands. Suddenly his fingertips touched a soft thing. He hurriedly lay down and stretched his arms as long as possible. Finally, he grabbed the things inside and found a hidden place to scratch a match. It was a bag of oil paper. When he opened it, he found a soft notebook inside, which was densely filled with Chen Chenglin's handwriting.

"Mr. Shen!" Yang Lin suddenly pressed the notebook against his chest, knelt on the ground, his face full of tears.

"Is this the information Cheng Lin exchanged for his life?" Ba Du asked, pointing to the soft notebook on the table.

"Yes!" Shi Huaisha's face was full of sadness: "I am a few years older than him. It turns out that he is the best friend in the army. He met him before he set off this time, but he didn't expect that this time would be the eternal decree!"

Badu picked up the soft-skinned notebook. The notebook, which was only a few ounces, seemed to be in his hand at this time. He held his breath and opened the notebook with his trembling fingers. He saw lines of text written in correct handwriting. There were dozens of questions on the Russian Pacific Fleet in Golden Horn Bay. There were already detailed answers to many questions after many questions, but there were still several questions that did not give answers. Obviously, the owner of the notebook had not had enough time to collect them at that time.

"There are two rolls of film sent back with the notebook, which are a overlooking view of the Russian military defense line and the port area fortifications. They have not been washed yet!" Shi Huaisha whispered, and it is not difficult to feel the sorrow in his heart at this moment from his voice.

Ba did not even answer. He gently closed the notebook and handed it to Shi Huaisha, whispering: "Huaisha, please keep this. You must hurry up on the plan to siege the port area. For this plan, the price we have paid is too high, do you understand?"

Shi Huaisha took the notebook, put his four fingers together with his right hand, his thumb close to the edge of his palm, his fingertips approached his right temple, and he gave a beautiful military salute: "Sir, I will definitely not disappoint you. I will start to take action as soon as the spring of next year!"

Mandalay, Babu Village Manor.

Myanmar in August is still rainy. The clouds filled with water from the monsoon blowing over the Indian Ocean spread on the ground in this huge valley between the Naga hills and the Shan State Plateau, which not only brought a lot of rain to the people of this land, provided conditions for agricultural production, but also caused potential harm. Often, the heavy rain for dozens of days will wash away the surface of the soil, making it barren and inappropriate for farming; more importantly, rivers often cannot accommodate concentrated rainfall, which will cause large-scale floods.

"Wu Wenche, your plan is very good!" In the office, Chen Zaixing closed the documents and smiled at Wenche who stood in front of him respectfully: "I will recommend to His Majesty the King to take advantage of the opportunity to provide relief to the victims to build twelve reservoirs and renovate the dam of the Irrawaddy River."

"Thank you very much, Mr. Chen!" Wen Che said carefully: "Although manpower can only provide food to the victims, craftsmen, materials, and transportation still require considerable amounts--"

"You go back and make a rough budget. If it is within 750,000 Burmese shield, you don't have to come and talk to me again!" Chen Zaixing said with a smile. Obviously, he was in a good mood: "Shunhua Company's performance this year is very good. The dividends given to the royal family are enough for the royal family itself. You don't have to worry too much about the money!"

"Then, that's great!" Wen Che opened his eyes happily. He rubbed his hands at a loss, and didn't know what to say for a moment. As a counselor of the Privy Council, Wen Che was actually in a very embarrassing situation. In name, he was the prime minister of the kingdom, but in fact he was not the king's most trusted person. He did not have powerful institutions such as troops or spies in his hands, but he had to take charge of the affairs of the kingdom. Countless decrees were issued in his name, and these decrees would always harm the interests of some people and cause trouble.

Countless jealousy. So when Wenche just ascended to the throne of the Privy Council, this person became a joke in Mandalay's upper class. Many nobles and monks called his name in a contemptuous tone behind their backs. Some even bet on how long he could stay in this position, usually three to half a year, and at most nine months. If it is one year, no one is willing to place a bet, because no one thinks Wenche's career as a Privy Councillor can last for one year.
