The four hundred and fortieth chapter of the war between Yi and Burma

August of the second year of Tianzhi (the 23rd year of Qianlong)

The Yi Dynasty, together with Annam, Cambodia, Siam, Champa and Nanzhang, announced a joint war against Myanmar.

In mid-August, the coalition forces advanced by sea and land. The land route was divided into three routes: the east route, the south route, and the north route. They were led by the Suzaku Army of the Yi Army, the Guards Army, and recruits from other military districts.

Zhang Rui's purpose is very clear. At present, the war between the Yi Dynasty and the Manchu Qing Dynasty has basically stopped. However, the proportion of recruits in each military region is not small, and the best way to train the recruits is naturally to go to the battlefield.

Therefore, the war with Myanmar was more about military training.

In this war, Annan sent 30,000 troops, Siam sent 20,000 troops, Cambodia sent 10,000 troops, Champa sent 1,000 troops, and the three countries in Nanzhang sent 8,000 troops in total.

The troops of Annan and Nanzhang followed the Suzaku Army to attack the east road. Their troops were less than 50,000 and they claimed 300,000.

Siam and Cambodia carried out coordinated operations under the command group sent by the Yi Army, with a strength of more than 30,000 troops, known to the outside world as 180,000.

The North Road has the Guards as the main force, and recruits from other military regions coordinate to participate in the battle. The total force is more than 10,000 people, and the external claim is 100,000 people.

As for the land and sea, the Guangdong Navy of the Yi Dynasty was the main force. The main troops outbound were the Marine Corps' 3,000 troops and the 1,000 troops occupying the city. It was known to the outside world as a 50,000-strong army.

The mobilization of the army made the Qing court very nervous. They thought that the Yi Dynasty was preparing to tear up the treaty and start another war with the Qing Dynasty. It was not until they saw that their goal was to go straight to Burma that they felt relieved.

The Qing court was naturally happy about the Yi Dynasty sending troops to Burma. It also wondered if it could take this opportunity to gain some advantage over the Yi Dynasty. However, considering that it was also in a mess, it suppressed the restlessness in its heart.

At this time, a large army came over the border, and the atmosphere in the royal court of Myanmar was depressing.

Whether it is war or seeking peace, there are different opinions.

However, facing the scale of the coalition forces, anyone with some sense believes that it is difficult for Myanmar to win, and more people are inclined to seek peace.

However

"Gong Naiya, what do you think of this war?" Yong Jiya asked, looking at Gong Naiya, the few main battle generals.

"Back to the king, I think that although the coalition forces brought out by the Yi Dynasty are huge, they are not something to be afraid of." Gong Naiya said proudly.

"Oh? Tell me." Yong Jiya continued to ask, adding fuel to the flames.

"Yes, it is obvious that there is insufficient coordination between them. Let's put it this way! It is very troublesome to coordinate soldiers from different villages in the same area, not to mention there are so many countries? I believe that except for the soldiers and horses of Yi Dynasty, other

All countries will preserve their own strength and focus on producing work but not exerting effort. For such a helpless person, this is exactly our hope." Gonnaiya said.

"So, despite the large number of them, what we really have to face is a group of bandits who have just formed. As long as we defeat them, the soldiers from other countries will naturally return. This war will be a victory.

."

"Yes, that's a good analysis. But if we are simply dealing with the Yi army, what chance do we have of winning?" Yong Jiya said.

"Back to the king, it's at least 80%." Gong Naiya pretended to estimate and then replied.

"How was this calculated?"

"Your Majesty, gentlemen, the Manchu Qing Dynasty is powerful enough! Judging from the situation we have dealt with the Manchu Qing Dynasty, is there any problem in Wuwu?" Gonnaiya seemed to be asking the people around him.

"Fifty-fifty, that's fair to say..." someone in the crowd responded.

"You must know that when we fought with the Manchus, the main battlefield was in Yunnan. It was disadvantageous for us, but we won. So strictly speaking, we are a little stronger than the Manchus."

"Yes, the Yi army is coming to fight us now, and Myanmar is the main battlefield. So the geographical advantage lies with us, and Myanmar is mountainous and has complex terrain, which is more conducive to our jungle operations. The more enemies there are, the more inconvenience it will bring to the enemy's logistics.

, the more difficult the logistics. So this adds 20% to us." Gong Naiya bowed to Yong Jiya and said.

"If the king can free more slaves and allow them to join the army to fight, this will greatly increase our military strength and help us deal with the enemy. This will add another ten percent. So I think this matter is not worth fearing.

"

"What do you all think of what Gong Naiya said?" Yong Jiya asked after pretending to think deeply.

"I thought that although the Yi Dynasty came in great force this time, it was just the same thing. I admit that it was capable of attracting so many people. However, the Ming Dynasty had hundreds of thousands of troops to encircle and suppress the Manchu Qing Dynasty.

So what? In the end, the Manchus won the kingdom."

"So I think that although Myanmar seems to have no chance of winning this war, who knows that Myanmar will not put it to death and survive?"

At this time, any minister with some experience would understand that these were just words spoken by Yong Jiya through Gong Naiya.

Since Yong Jiya wants to be beaten, what can they say?

Let's fight! If we don't fight, no one will give up. If we win, everything will be fine. But if we lose, Yong Jiya can give up, and they can go and sue for peace.

As the coalition forces pressed across the Myanmar border, the war between Myanmar and Yi Dynasty officially began.

At the end of August, Myanmar asked the Manchu and Qing court of its suzerain country for help, but the Manchu and Qing court refused on the grounds that it was still in civil strife. Later, Qianlong seemed to feel that it was a bit unjustifiable, so he asked Yunnan to send 2,000 troops.

As a result, these two thousand people quickly surrendered when they met the Yi army on the battlefield, and even helped the Yi army manage prisoners.

Although Burma was well prepared for this war, the attacks of several armies still stretched Burma's military strength, and Burma had to release more slaves to join the army's defense.

As the war continued to advance, the Burmese army discovered how insignificant it was to confront the Yi army on the frontal battlefield.

Therefore, the Burmese army thought of dragging the Yijun into a jungle battle, but the Yijun seemed to have seen through Burma's little thinking. In any case, they would not enter the jungle and fight them head-on.

In less than a month, the Burmese army was defeated steadily, and the few cities in Burma continued to lose harvests. The Yi army once again proved its strength with its strength.

After facing the Yi army's powerful firearms on the frontal battlefield, Yong Jiya finally understood why the Wu Lunshi of Siam were defeated so quickly. It turned out that Wen Lin was not afraid of the throne, but to preserve the royal family.

But does Myanmar have no chance? Yong Jiya is not worried. As long as Myanmar can hold back the Yi army, the Yi army will be defeated.
