Chapter 332 Lies

On the merchant ship, after Captain Joey Ferro left, Portia sighed. The Clark she mentioned before, which was the guard who had just handed her telescope, said: "Miss, your attitude is too weak. Joey Ferro is an old-fashioned seaman who looks down on women. This is your ship, he is just the person you hired. If you whisper to him, he will despise you even more."

Portia said helplessly: "Many sailors on the boat are his people. This is my first time running a boat. My family's savings for so many years are on it. I just don't want a dispute to affect this voyage."

On the other hand, no matter Joey Ferro's attitude, at least as the captain, his command was qualified. Arrangement of acquaintances was not nepotism, but because of their cooperation and understanding, he had already manipulated the huge merchant ship and leaned flexibly towards the dilapidated boat where William and others were.

As they were close, William, Akin and Selkirk looked up and saw the neatly arranged shooting ports on the side of the ship. The metal gun barrels extending outwards were like spikes on the merchant ships. The ships sailing on the great route, whether they were pirates or not, had some self-protection power.

"It seems that the weapons of Great Route are not of great quality?" William said with a grin, looking at the barrel.

"There are good and bad, but the gap is actually very big." A Jin commented objectively.

At this moment, several heads appeared behind the merchant ship guardrail. A bearded man shouted to William and others: "Who are you? What happened?"

"We are crew members of the ocean fishing boat, but we accidentally encountered the Neptune who ran out of Wufeng. The fishing boat crashed, and the three of us ran out in lifeboats, but nothing was left on them, and there was no pointer to record the direction of the island. We could only wait for kind people here," William raised his dirty face and shouted, "Please save us!"

The bearded head that had been shouting before shrank back again. After a while, he leaned forward and shouted, "Come up one by one, don't play tricks! Have you seen our cannons? That's not a decoration. If you are pirates, we will fire the cannons and bomb the small broken boat you are on!"

Accompanied by the bearded shout, it was a rope ladder that was thrown down.

"We are not pirates, we are good people!" William replied with confidence, and then climbed the rope ladder.

Selkirk, next to William, had a speechless expression on his face. Fortunately, he lowered his head and the merchant ship crew above could not see it.

William used his hands and feet together and quickly climbed to the top of the boat. However, before he could stand on the deck, he just exposed his shoulder on the guard plate, and was pulled directly by several big men and dropped it on the ground. Several flintlock rifles pointed at his head, and several men holding knives were staring at him fiercely.

William squatted on the ground with his hands in his arms, showing a look of fear on his face: "Are you pirates? We have nothing on the boat, and we are all ordinary fishermen, and we have no money at home!"

When William was pretending, he saw a familiar uniform through the gaps of a group of strong men in various costumes around him. He narrowed his eyes slightly, but immediately returned to normal, looking around with fear.

Akin and Selkirk soon arrived on the boat, treated the same as William, squatting in the corner of the deck, with several sailors watching them with guns.

Far from the deck, the ship owner Portia looked at the three squatting people under Clark's escort.

Among the three, one of them had dark skin, thin face, prominent cheekbones, and ugly face. It seemed that the black hair had not been taken care of for a while, and it was messy.

The other one is medium-sized, ordinary-looking, and the black hair is also formed in strands because of its dirty and messy appearance. It looks the oldest last year, about thirty years old.

The last man, the youngest of the three, was wearing a straw hat with several holes, with golden hair exposed under the brim of the hat, and a trace left by sweat, sea salt, fish scales, blood and other things mixed. He was fancy and could not see clearly his specific appearance.

However, Portia was not interested in carefully exploring the specific appearance of the person she saved. She was not a foolish woman who could only pass the time with love novels every day. She dreamed of meeting a prince charming all day long. She was an orphan who ventured to run a boat to support her family business, and was more concerned about the true identities of William and the other two.

A young woman in a navy uniform and a ponytail came to Portia.

"How is it, Caslana?" Portia asked in a low voice.

The female navy named Caslana looked back at William and the other two who were squatting honestly: "They don't carry weapons, they are covered with fishy smells, and they are all covered with the blood of the Neptune, not human blood, and probably not pirates. It is indeed a fisherman as they said."

Portia breathed a sigh of relief. She was actually afraid of encountering the trap of pirates. It would not only lead to Joey Ferro, who had already despised her, but also caused casualties for the crew.

The armed personnel surrounding William and others quickly lowered their guns. William caught a glimpse of the young woman who had observed her three people in the distance before. Under the protection of the female navy and guards, he came over and brought some bread and water.

"I'm sorry, but we are on the great route now. We can only be careful in everything. I hope you can understand," Portia stopped a few steps away from William and others, saying, "There are some foods, but there is not much fresh water on the boat, so I'm afraid you can't clean your body."

"It's okay, just have food."

William said, and went forward to take the bread and water. Portia covered her nose slightly and took a small step back. William didn't care about it. He was dressed like this, hoping that others would stay away from him.

"I don't know where you are going. We are going to the Shambodian Islands. If you don't go along, pass by the next island, or encounter other merchant ships along the way, you can put us down." William said while stuffing bread into his mouth. A few crumbs spurted out of his mouth as he spoke, falling onto the deck, and he picked it up and stuffed it into his mouth.

"We are also going to the Shambodian Islands, and we can take you there along the way." Portia said politely, but William's rude eating habits and the unpleasant smell on her body obviously made her lose more desire to communicate.

"My name is Becker," William continued as if he didn't notice Portia's attitude, and pointed to Akin and Selkirk again. "This is Garnis and Bedville. I know a little about navigation. They can also help the helm. You have saved us. If the ship needs help, just give me instructions."

"My name is Portia. This is my merchant ship. Captain Joey Ferro and his companions are experienced seamen. You can just cultivate with peace of mind." Portia said politely. She was not stupid. It was impossible for her to hand over such important things as the rudder and navigation direction to three strangers.

Portia ordered the crew to take William and the other three to the restaurant, and asked the crew to arrange a rest for them, then left, followed by the female navy.

William and the other two arrived at the restaurant, and the merchant ships served them more hearty food. After eating bread and filling their stomachs, the three of them looked much better.

While they were having dinner, the merchant crew member who accompanied them also disliked the smell on them and hid far away.

Selkirk whispered at the dinner table: "What's going on with that navy girl? Don't the Navy people say that they have returned to the headquarters for martial law?"

Ajin took a sip of water and said calmly: "In this sea area, the headquarters has not recalled her yet. She should be a small character who is not good at it. The owner of this ship may have invited her to deter those little pirates, or prevented any problems with the crew."

Selkirk looked at William, who had eaten up all the food on the plate and slowly took out a rough pipe and a small bag of tobacco from his pants pocket, lit it, and held it in his mouth.
