Chapter 47: A Place

Ward had already found out about the town where the Red Beard Pirates often rested. After preparing for a while, William came to the tavern in the town alone.

His outfit is different from the past. His hair has grown a lot longer and he has a beard. He has changed his usual habit of cleaning clothes. Now he looks much sloppy. His collar and cuffs are stained with wine. There is also a small hole under the hem of a cigarette butt on the hem of the clothes. Even the knife at his waist has been replaced by a common scimitar among the pirates.

And I don’t know if it’s because of [First] expertise or other reasons, but his height has grown taller recently and has emerged from 1.9 meters. If he just swept through it, it will be difficult to associate it with his previous image.

The taverns in this world often double as hotels, including all kinds of religions and all kinds of people. Both residents and drinkers are mixed with dragons and snakes, and are filled with sailors and merchants traveling around the world. They are often the most well-informed places in the area. When William first arrived, the Red Beard Pirates had not arrived yet, but he had already learned from the drinkers that the information provided by Ward was true, so he waited here patiently for nearly half a month.

Until one morning, when William woke up in the room, he knew that the Redbeard Pirates were likely to have come to the town to rest.

The sound insulation facilities of the small town tavern are very poor, and most consumers who come here are drunk, so they are noisy all day long. Whether it is late at night or early morning, the noise always surrounds the inside and outside the tavern, but today it has changed.

When William cleaned up briefly, walked out of the door and walked up the stairs to the first floor, he found that the situation was indeed as he expected. Near the bar, a group of men with a strong aura were drinking wine.

A man who was nearly two meters tall and had a solid muscles and stretched out a wide shirt like a tight-fitting suit was sitting alone at the bar. The wooden high chair was like a small stool under his strong body like a bear.

The man's face was covered with flesh and a circle of fine red beard like steel needles on his face.

The bartender carefully prepared a glass of wine for this man who was obviously the leader. This man with a rough appearance was unexpectedly inconsistent with his appearance and temperament. He nodded casually to the bartender, and then pinched the wine glass that seemed too delicate to his huge body. Instead, he savored it slowly.

None of the other customers in the tavern dared to show any dissatisfaction with the man occupying the entire bar alone. The drunkards who used to shouting and shouting were all honestly huddled in their respective corners, far away from the bar, and even lowered their voices. The tavern was no longer noisy, which was why William affirmed the arrival of the Red Beard Pirates.

William's heart moved. According to the description provided by Ward, he felt that this person was probably the deputy captain of the Red Beard Pirates and the veritable second-ranked figure in the Pirates, Reis.

Reis is the right-hand assistant of the "Red Beard" Barbarossa, and has a meticulous mind that is not consistent with his appearance. He is responsible for helping Barbarossa manage all kinds of affairs on the ship and is considered Barbarossa's butler.

Reis brought five confidants, all of whom were old pirates on the boat, experienced, occupied two wine tables near the bar, which looked very relaxed, but the location was quite tricky, and the situation behind each person could be observed by more than one companion.

Looking from the direction of the gate, the table where several old pirates were located was blocked by the pillars of the tavern. This made these people think about it and could observe the people who walked into the tavern from the gate, but it would be difficult for those who had just entered the tavern to find them immediately if they were not careful.

Although these old pirates are tall or short, fat or thin, they all have one similarity, that is, they are fierce and they are all armed with weapons, either with scimitars or hand axes. There are two people with pistols on their waists, which have no intention of covering them.

The bar owner smiled flatteringly, ran around like a few waiters, obeying the orders of these bandits.

Pirates are also humans and will not be willing to live in deserted places. They plunder to seek wealth and live a better life. Therefore, they will not choose to turn the local area into vain as long as they go to any place with people.

This is not the first time that the Red Beard Pirates have come to rest in the town where William is now. The owner of the tavern knows that although it is inevitable to lose money, as long as there is no trouble, he will not anger the terrifying deputy captain of the pirates in front of him.

Just pirates have always been synonymous with trouble.

The three strong men pushed open the door of the tavern, glanced at the hall, and walked towards the bar.

The tavern owner looked bitter, but he didn't dare to stop him, because this group of people also had a fierce look, and everyone was scimitar in their waists.

"You are the deputy captain of the Red Beard Pirates, Reis?" The three strong men walked to the bar near the bar. An old pirate was still sitting on a chair, but lazily stretched out his legs to block their way. It seemed that the leader asked when he saw this.

Reis turned his head, looked up and down at the three of them, then turned back, continued to drink the wine in his hands, and said lightly: "What are you looking for me?"

“We want to get on the boat.”

"I want to get on the boat and go to the dock to find our crew, why do I come to me?"

The strong man in the lead gritted his teeth: "You guys on the dock said there is no shortage of manpower on the ship now, so..."

"So you come to me, the deputy captain?" Reis drank all the wine, smashed his mouth, and seemed to think it tasted pretty good, so he pushed the wine glass to the bartender and signaled him to make another glass, and said without objection, "As a pirate, everyone wants to survive and everyone wants to get rich, so everyone wants to join a powerful pirate group, but the question is, why should we let you get on the boat?"

"My companion and I are good players! And we have killed anyone!"

Rece sneered when he heard this: "Good man? Everyone who wants to get on our ship will say this. Are you a good man? It's not something you say. Those who can survive after several naval battles are considered good in my eyes. As for killing people, who hasn't killed anyone on my ship?"

The strong man in the lead looked ashamed and angry, and then he heard Reis say, "Don't say I won't give you a chance. Now there is just one person missing on the boat and there is a vacant seat. Do you want to get on the boat? Let's decide who is qualified to sit in this seat."

William had walked behind the three strong men at some point and heard this sentence.

The man in front of him heard the footsteps. Because he was sneered by Reis before, he was in a bad mood, so he turned his head and said viciously to him: "Get out!"

After he finished speaking, he turned his head indifferently, but as soon as he turned his head, he felt a pain in his scalp and William had already grabbed his hair.
