Chapter 48 Zheyin Mountain (thirteen)

A few minutes later, I took the guards to the 1142 high ground.》∧,ww≦w.23w◎x.c∞om

Although it is not very difficult to achieve this, the top position of the 1142 Highland Mountain at this time was still under the control of the Agents Company, but in order to cover us, we also fired the last bit of ammunition and flew back to the base according to my order.

"Battery Commander!" Scar ran to me and asked, "Why are you coming down?"

"Who asked you to come down?!" Another black shadow ran to me, shouting and scolding in a furious manner.

When she scolded the people around her, she was stunned. Who in the Synthetic Battalion dared to talk to the battalion commander like this... No need to think about it, of course it was Chen Yiyi.

I also recognized that the person I hadn't seen in Chen Yiyi for several months. At this time, I saw that she was covered in mud and blood, and she was completely unrestrained. I thought that she had a very hard time in the month lurking into Zheyin Mountain, so I couldn't help but feel sore.

But I didn't say much, and the situation at this time didn't allow me to say much. I just nodded to Chen Yiyi and asked Scar: "How is the situation?"

"It was completely beyond our expectations." Scar replied: "The Yue Gui has portable air defense missiles, and the number of reinforcements from both sides of the left and right is also increasing. At the same time, the enemy with unknown troops was also found in front and behind. We have been surrounded by the Yue Gui!"

"Is there any way to defend the position on the top of the mountain?" I asked Chen Yiyi.

She had been lurking on the 1142 high ground for a month, and must have known the situation in this area.

"The two wings and the North Steep are fine!" Chen Yiyi replied: "It's more difficult to go to the south!"

In fact, this is actually what I expected. The north is steep and the south is slow, and the terrain of this area is like this. In addition, the fortifications of the Vietnamese army face the north and the two wings. Therefore, the south can basically be said to be without any dangers.

Before I could have time to think about how to take the next step, a soldier shouted: "Battery Commander, the enemy is coming!"

I ran forward and took a look. Sure enough, in the dark night, there were Vietnamese troops who were slowly covering our positions with guns. At first glance, there was at least one company.

"The enemy situation was discovered in the north, and the troops were two squads."

"The enemy situation was discovered on the west side, and the troops were in one platoon!"

...

It should be said that the commander of the Vietnamese Japanese was very smart. He knew that our army had just occupied the position and had no time to build fortifications, so he launched an attack so quickly. On the other hand, he set the direction of the main attack to the south, while the north was either wings but only two squads or one platoon. It was obvious that this was to restrain our army and at the same time he was worried about being bombed by our artillery fire.

"Pass the order!" I ordered: "Press the enemy with artillery fire and snipers on both wings and the north, and the others defend the south."

"Yes!" Scar responded and quickly arranged the manpower according to my order.

Before we could take a breath, the Vietnamese army shouted and launched a charge towards our army.

The charge of the Vietnamese army was a little different from usual. The difference was that there was basically no artillery preparation before the charge... If there was artillery preparation, it was the Vietnamese Japanese who fired several grenades on our position before the charge.

The reason for this situation is that I think it should be the credit of the artillery radar... Under the influence of the artillery radar, the Vietnamese artillery will not fire until it is absolutely impossible. Once it is opened, it will be mentally prepared to be covered by Chinese artillery fire.

"Fight!" With my order, the soldiers who had been ready pulled the trigger to the Vietnamese Japanese who rushed up.

I saw a rain of bullets passing by. The formation of the Vietnamese army's charge was as obvious as a blocked tide... Of course, this was not a blocked tide. Instead, a bullet ruthlessly shot into the body of the Vietnamese army rushing in front.

At this time, the situation in the enemy and us was very obvious. Although there were not many fortifications to rely on in the south of our army, our army still had a condescending geographical advantage. In addition, the weapons in our army were all 81 bars and 81 light machine guns, so when they started, there was a rain of bullets like a storm. Among them, especially the snipers distributed in our army, they always chose commanders with pistols hanging around their waists, communication soldiers carrying walkers, and even Vietnamese troops holding grenade launchers or machine guns.

It can be said that these equipment have been played to the extreme in the hands of the agent company. The 81 bar and light machine gun are used for surface strafing, while the sniper rifle is used for point-focused strikes. In this way, the combination of points and surfaces will completely suppress the Japanese on the inclined surface and cannot move.

In fact, what is more important is that because we launched this raid on the basis of the Black Hawk, everyone brought enough ammunition and even several helicopters rode dozens of boxes of ammunition on the top of the mountain position in the gap... Anyway, the Black Hawk has a high load capacity, so if it is not fully utilized, it is a fool. This makes us have no worries about insufficient ammunition for the time being.

"Battery Commander!" At this time, the correspondent handed the microphone to me and shouted: "Telephone Commander Xu!"

"I am Yang Xuefeng!" I revealed my identity when I received the call.

"Battlefield Commander Yang!" said Commander Xu on the other end of the phone: "I heard about the unexpected plan. I didn't expect that the Japanese devils would actually have air defense missiles. Should our army launch a general attack in advance to cooperate with your battle?"

I looked at my watch and it was only half past five, and there was still one and a half hours before the planned total attack time at 7 o'clock.

The reason why the general attack time is set at 7 o'clock is because we have taken into account several factors:

First, our army is not familiar with the terrain. If we launch an attack on the enemy's positions in the dark, although it can cause some confusion to the Vietnamese army, our army will have greater inconvenience. Even because the Vietnamese army is familiar with the terrain, it can fight as usual even if it is covered by the sky. Especially many Vietnamese troops are still hiding in caves. If they launch an attack in the dark, it will be difficult to find the targets in the cave.

Second, the Vietnamese army is good at night fighting, but our army is not the case. This is cultivated in a long-term war and living environment.

Third, the most important thing is that our army had a comprehensive advantage in artillery fire at this time. Under the influence of artillery aiming radar, our artillery soldiers almost attack whatever they want. They fire whatever they want. This also includes smoke bombs that can interfere with the sight of the Vietnamese army.

Therefore, there is no need for us to launch a general attack at night. It is reasonable to use the night to sneak into the frontier of the Vietnamese position at night to prepare, and then cooperate with the artillery to launch a charge against the Vietnamese position when it is dawn.

It is precisely because of this that we set the general attack time at 7 a.m.

"No!" I denied Commander Xu's statement without thinking: "Now there is still one and a half hours before the general attack time, and many troops have not reached the designated lurking position. If the general attack is advanced, it will cause great losses to the troops."

Commander Xu on the other end of the phone agreed to my statement. He paused and said, "Then, I will transfer two compulsory gun companies to your command!"

This time I didn't refuse, because I knew that our army had a large number of artillery troops, and there were also many artillery forces... If we wanted to launch a general attack on Zheyin Mountain, the artillery troops were indispensable.

On the other hand, it is because we really need the mortar force. As mentioned before, the Vietnamese army placed its main force in the south, and on this side we basically have no fortifications. Once the Vietnamese army organizes a decent offensive, the south will be likely to be broken through by the Vietnamese army. The mortar that can bypass the top of the mountain to the south is undoubtedly our good reinforcement firepower.

As expected, the commander of the Vietnamese army soon realized that the attack just now was too hasty... It was not his fault. He did not know the real combat effectiveness of our army, and he just kept thinking about not giving us time to build fortifications and gained a foothold.

Then with a few whistles, more than a dozen shells exploded on our army's positions. Immediately, shrapnel flew around the top of the mountain.

This is the mortar of the Vietnamese Japanese. Just as Chen Yiyi and others have previously detected that the Vietnamese army has 82 guns and five guns and seven guns on the 1142 high ground. Now it seems that the Vietnamese Japanese have all transferred them to deal with us.

Mortars like this located on the back slope are difficult to deal with. Even if our army has gun-aiding radar... the reason is that it is generally located in the dead corner of our army's long-range gunfire. On the other hand, it can still swim quickly. After a few guns, a few infantry can hold them and transfer positions, so even if the gun-aiding radar can detect its position, it will not play a big role.

For us, what we fear most when we are hiding without fortifications is being bombarded by the Japanese devils. It seems that the Japanese commander is grasping our weakness.

Fortunately, we were prepared at this time. It should be said that Commander Xu had already had a foresight about this. When the Vietnamese Japanese bombarded us, our army immediately returned a large number of shells... In an instant, the sound of the Vietnamese Japanese mortars was much less.

This was beyond my expectations. As I said before, the Vietnamese mortar bombed me on the back slope, and it should be difficult for our artillery to hit them, but now it seems that this is not the case.

Later I learned that this artillery naturally had the style of artillery.

As the saying goes, "The Tao is one foot higher than the demon is one foot higher than the demon." The Vietnamese army had a way to fire swimming artillery on the back slope, and our artillery will also find a solution during the battle.

Our artillery called this method "scattering a wide net to catch small fish", which means we don't want to catch big fish in one go, nor do we want to kill all the swimming artillery of the Vietnamese army in one go. In fact, it is impossible to catch all of them in one go unless the number of our artillery is more than ten times that of the Vietnamese army.

Simply put, when the Vietnamese army was firing artillery like this, our artillery seized several points for covering bombing.

Just like just now, there were twelve mortars in the Vietnamese army, almost one mortar company, while our army had two mortar companies.

Once the Vietnamese army fires the artillery radar, there will be twelve Vietnamese forces positions on the artillery aiming radar. If our army uses two artillery companies to attack these twelve targets, it is very likely that a small fish will not be able to catch it.

However, if we use a compulsive company to attack one target in a concentrated manner, that is, two compulsive companies only choose two of the targets to attack, the result will be different.

A gun-forced company only hits one target, and the dozen or so guns of this gun-forced company are still evenly scattered around the target, so it becomes a kind of artillery fire coverage. Even if the Japanese invaders make a shot, they will immediately move their positions, but the transfer speed is always limited. Unless they have the same speed as the "Flash", it is impossible for them to escape from the coverage of our gun-forced troops within a few dozen seconds.

So it can be foreseen that the Japanese devils will have two less shots as soon as they fire, and two less shots will be reduced after another shot... It won't take long for a gun company to disappear.

It should be said that this method is indeed very effective, because the Vietnamese army was silent for a long time without responding, neither launching an attack on our army nor firing artillery on the top of our mountain positions.

I think they were already in a dilemma at this time:

Let’s launch an attack on our army. It is difficult to have any effect with the counterattack and artillery fire support of the Chinese people. The infantry will undoubtedly suffer a large number of casualties when they are rushing. If the artillery bombards, they will be less and less.

If you don't attack, can you just let a Chinese team plunge into their positions like a sting? What's more, this unit is still next to its command center, so how can the Vietnamese commander sleep peacefully?

But I believe that the Vietnamese army will eventually choose to attack, because if they still choose to remain silent at this time, it almost means admitting failure. It is not just a matter of tactics losing a position, but it will directly hit the morale and confidence of the entire Vietnamese army... This is surrounded by them. If they can't take it down, will there be any other battles in the future? Just give this Yinshan to the Chinese.

Therefore, when the Vietnamese army was silent, I stepped up ordering the soldiers to build fortifications.

However, this is not easy. The reason is that our plan is to withdraw after the battle, so we did not bring much materials to build fortifications. Fortunately, we found a lot of sacks in the trenches of the Vietnamese army, so we used these sacks to pile sand and stones into a simple fortification.

Then the Vietnamese army launched an attack in a way that I didn't even expect...

After the Vietnamese army was silent for more than ten minutes, a whistling sound of artillery shells suddenly came from the sky. At least dozens of mortars were bombing the top position we were stationed at the same time.

When I heard the howling of the shells, it was from all directions, so I quickly understood... The commander of the Vietnamese army mobilized the mortars from other high grounds in Zheyin Mountain to launch a bombing on our position.

There are five major highlands in Zheyin Mountain. If there are ten mortars per highland, there are fifty mortars bombing us at the same time. In addition, some other small positions and large-caliber mortars behind the Vietnamese army are also "robbing by fire"... This makes our position boil like a pot of boiled water.

Of course, at the same time, our army's artillery fire also started to suppress. At this time, I even believed that more than two artillery companies had already been put into battle.

Later I learned that at this time, Division Commander Xu had already invested in two mortar battalions... This was the main force of the mortar that our army was preparing to launch a general attack.

But it is conceivable that although the counterattack of our artillery was very effective, the Vietnamese mortars were killed and injured under the tactics of our artillery aiming radar and "scattering a wide net to catch small fish", at this moment, they were fighting for the mortars and even hitting the shells to our positions even if they were hit... This is actually a life-for-life exchange.

A few minutes later, the sound of artillery finally stopped. I saw several corpses beside me and a soldier who was blown off. My left hand was not gritted and I couldn't help but scream. At the same time, I used my only remaining right hand to tie the broken part with my sleeve... Although the synthetic battalion has super qualities, there will still be casualties under the artillery fire.

Fortunately, the time just now gave us time to build fortifications, and the casualties reported from each squad are acceptable: a total of five sacrifices, three were seriously injured, and the remaining dozen were only slightly injured by shrapnel or stones.

However, this is not over. Then the Vietnamese Japanese quickly launched a charge towards our army with the remaining power of artillery fire... This time, the Vietnamese army's charge was slightly different from the past, that is, they no longer launched a group charge, but instead advanced alternately under the cover of machine guns and artillery fire. What I was even more unexpected was that the Vietnamese army also concentrated more than 20 grenade launchers in response to the insufficient fortifications of our army...

These Vietnamese troops holding grenade launchers were always mixed with other Vietnamese troops, and they did not fire grenades at our positions together when they entered their range.
