Chapter 27 Selling Goods

I heard complaints and angry voices coming from outside.

I was very nervous.

Even, a little scared.

I was really afraid that that thing would sneak in, stretch out its pale human hands, and drag me out from under the altar table.

I was so nervous that I couldn't breathe for a long time.

It wasn't until his face turned red that he dared to take two slow breaths...

After the old man's voice disappeared, the temple was quiet for a long time.

The black cloth shoes pacing back and forth in front of the black paper bowl also disappeared.

It was about one o'clock in the morning.

Above my head, there were several more coughs.

"Cough cough cough..."

These two coughs were very loud.

In this silent old temple, it seems particularly prickly.

It was like a piece of old phlegm stuck in his throat, which made him feel extremely uncomfortable.

After these coughs, I saw a pair of red cloth shoes walking through the gap under the yellow cloth.

There was no sound, and he was still standing on tiptoe.

Through the moonlight shining into the temple, the view is rather hazy.

But red is eye-catching.

It should be a woman's foot, not the one from before.

She approached the altar step by step, and finally the toes of her two red cloth shoes stuck out through the gaps under the yellow cloth.

When I saw these two red cloth shoes, I quickly shrank back.

But here, in such a big place, I don’t have much room to move around.

That thing outside is just standing there.

Until more than ten minutes later, a middle-aged woman's voice sounded:

"Who's down there! You've been occupying the space for so long and you still won't leave?"

The voice is a little deep and thin.

There was a trace of anger in his tone.

I heard the other party suddenly speak, and he was obviously asking me.

I hurriedly followed what Master Care warned me and responded:

"Seller! Stay one night and then leave."

As soon as she finished speaking, the middle-aged woman said "Oh", stepped on the red shoes in the gap in the yellow cloth, and stepped back.

Then, I saw her walking aside on tiptoes.

When the other party left, I didn't even breathe a sigh of relief.

The middle-aged woman's voice sounded again from the other side of the temple.

"The seller said he would stay for one night and then leave."

She seemed to be talking to someone else, but her tone was complaining.

I pricked my ears and listened quietly.

Clearly, there is more than one filthy creature in this house.

I guess there are at least three.

The one sitting on the altar table above me, coughing constantly.

Wearing black cloth shoes, he was told that he was only allowed to see food but not allowed to eat.

And this, the woman who asked me...

Next, the temple was quiet for a while.

About half past one in the morning.

The pair of black cloth shoes once again walked in front of the two paper bowls.

His silent footsteps could be heard through the gap, and only his two feet could be seen pacing back and forth.

Finally, he faced the direction of my altar table and suddenly said:

"Seller, how do you sell your goods?"

The voice is hoarse and old, it's that old ghost.

I have always been very nervous.

Now when I heard the question, I immediately answered:

"Rice is exchanged for money, and eggs are exchanged for medicine. The money only needs old money, and the medicine only needs old medicine."

But who knows, I just finished speaking.

The dirty thing outside snorted coldly:

"Huh! You took over my house, brought a fierce woman outside, and sold the things so expensively."

After saying that, he walked away...

Hearing this sentence, I shuddered directly.

I always feel like I am on the verge of death and constantly testing myself.

I was very afraid that the yellow cloth on the altar table in front of me would be lifted away by the other party.

Then throw it out to me...

However, just when I was frightened.

But I heard two "ding-ding" sounds, like the sound of coins falling to the ground.

Before I could lower my head and look out, I saw an old coin rolling in through the gap under the yellow cloth and stopping at my hand.

Immediately, a white hand grabbed a handful of Yin Nuo rice in the black paper bowl.

A few seconds later, the sound of "crunching", the sound of chewing rice with your mouth, could be heard in the temple.

It's very dry, crisp and uncomfortable to listen to.

But now, I hurriedly picked up the old coin.

I can't see the pattern clearly, but it's much smaller than the ghost money.

It should be similar to a copper coin with a hole in the middle. It is very cold when you hold it, like a piece of ice.

As soon as I shook my hand, another old coin rolled under the altar table.

And it's unbiased, and it rolls exactly where my hand is.

The next second, another white hand suddenly grabbed a handful of Yin Nuo rice in the black paper bowl.

Then in the temple, the second sound of chewing rice appeared.

"Creak, creak, creak" sounded from both sides at the same time...

Damn, this sound is so terrible.

If I hadn't tried hard to restrain myself and kept telling myself not to be afraid, hold on, and live.

I feel like I might collapse...

As time went by, pieces of cold old money rolled in "ding-dang-dang-dang".

In the black paper bowl where eggs are sold, the eggs are also decreasing one by one.

Then I saw dark things thrown into the bowl carelessly.

I didn't dare to reach out and take it because I didn't know what the so-called "old medicine" was.

But it looks like there are a lot of dirty things in this temple.

It definitely exceeded my previous guess, there were more than three.

Because many times, I don't see the shoes.

I saw human hands suddenly appearing to grab rice and eggs.

And it flashed by and disappeared very quickly.

Now there are five or six sounds of chewing rice.

There are also some subtle "bah, bah, bah" sounds, which feel like eating eggs...

Listening to the noise, there are dirty things standing in all directions in this temple.

Although I didn't see them eating rice or eggs.

But these sounds made me imagine that they were eating something sweet and delicious.

There were cold old coins in his hands, the number of which was enough for ten coins.

The ten eggs outside have also been sold out.

Listen to the "squeaking" sound of chewing rice and eating eggs outside.

I feel like a cat in my heart, and I look frightened and uneasy.

I really hope that time passes quickly and morning comes quickly.

In this way, I can take things with me to review the master's assignment.

But who would have expected that at this moment, those feet wearing black cloth shoes would appear in front of the altar table again.

I can clearly feel a chill coming...

Then, the hoarse old man's voice sounded:

"Seller, that fierce woman outside is looking for you. Everything is sold out, it's time to go!"
