Seventy-one. Where to go

Half an hour later, there were no more enemies standing on the ground and no more angry Japs underground. The melee finally ended.

Liu Heizi came to report: "After careful search, the Japs barracks are empty. There are several fire exits behind the barracks. It is estimated that the Japs escaped from there. Please ask for instructions whether to pursue them."

Jiang Hailong estimated the number of dead Japanese soldiers lying in the bunker and underground. At most, a few Japanese squadrons escaped from the two Japanese brigades. All the Japanese soldiers who finally rushed out of the barracks and died were obviously trying to cover the breakout. He waved his hand and said

: "Forget it, don't chase the poor criminals. It's been so long and it's hard to catch them. Let them go back to report their funeral."

He arranged for a cavalry company to stand guard around the mining area, and other soldiers collected the trophies by category. Prisoners of war and laborers volunteered to help, carrying the corpses of the Japanese and throwing them into the abandoned mines as directed. They were so busy that they were sweating profusely.

The soldiers of the Anti-Japanese Tigers gave each of them two cans of canned meat confiscated from the Japanese and warehouses. Seeing that most of them seemed not full after eating two cans of canned meat, they all handed over the pancakes they carried.

In the past, prisoners of war and laborers refused while devouring their food, and in the end they licked their hands so that no scraps of food were left.

Li Zheng led Commander Li Tie to Jiang Hailong and Li Ming to introduce them to each other.

Commander Li solemnly performed a military salute and said: "Li Tiejun, the commander of the 258th Regiment of the National Revolutionary Army, on behalf of the entire regiment, thanks the Anti-Japanese Tigers for their life-saving grace."

Li Tiejun has a strong body, a straight back, thick eyebrows and big eyes, and looks very talented. The dignified commander of the National Army has been a prisoner of war for several months. Although his sharpness has been somewhat worn away, and he looks downcast, his military temperament still remains.

Jiang Hailong returned the gift and said, "You're welcome. You are warriors fighting against Japan. We have no reason not to save you."

Li Tiejun's face darkened, and he sighed and said, "I'm ashamed. How can a defeated general speak bravely?"

Li Ming laughed and said, "Victory or defeat is a common thing in the military. Captain Li does not need to blame himself. Let's go to the house to talk." He led the group into an empty office in the Japanese barracks.

Jiang Hai Long ordered Li Zheng to make tea to entertain the guests, and Li Ming got close to Li Tiejun.

If you don’t ask, you won’t know that Li Tiejun and Li Ming are actually fellow villagers in a county in the northeast. They went to the same middle school one after another, and both have the same surname. The two of them got closer and closer as they talked. Li Ming also introduced some information about Jiang Hailong. Li Tiejun had a deep understanding of Jiang Hailong.

Long turned out to be a highly educated doctor. The famous captain of the Anti-Japanese Tigers was very surprised that he was not a professional soldier when he led such an excellent team, and sincerely expressed his admiration for him.

Seeing that the atmosphere was harmonious, Li Ming signaled Jiang Hailong with his eyes that it was time to talk about business.

Jiang Hailong cleared his throat and said: "Commander Li, I wonder if you have any plans for the future direction of your army? No matter what, we will respect your choice. If you want to find the national army, we can provide convenience and help you."

You provide some weapons and equipment. We welcome you to stay and join our team."

Li Ming was so angry that he kicked him under the table, thinking: "Why do you invite people to join so lightly? It seems so insincere. I told him earlier that I would try my best to bring this team over, and he

Why have you forgotten all about it? You want people to stay as you please, and you will be provided with equipment when you leave. This guy must be out of his mind. If this team hadn't been brought over, and the weapons and equipment were seized, we would have been bleeding all night.

Isn’t all your hard work in vain! This team of more than 400 people is a national army that has received formal training. It is much easier to train than recruiting hundreds of new soldiers. How can we let it go so easily?"
