Chapter 84 Trapped in Yukou Mountain 8-9

In order to lure the enemy deeper, Shanzi deliberately slept in the wild all night. He set off on his way just before dawn and arrived at Yukou Mountain at nearly noon.

The so-called Yukou Mountain is named after the large valley between the two mountains. The valley is about 200 meters wide from east to west and less than 400 meters long from north to south. The hills on both sides are higher in the east and lower in the west. The Sanlian Camp is located in the valley.

.

From a geographical point of view, Yukou Mountain is located 90 kilometers southeast of the county, adjacent to Lan County to the east and Yu County in northern Jiangsu to the south. Like an oak slope, it is deserted for several kilometers.

According to the administrative division at that time, Yukou Mountain belonged to Yanglin District.

Since all the food in the camp was moved to Quanquanling, lunch was provided by the local fortress village. The staple food was pancakes made with dried sweet potatoes, and the side dishes included eggs, green onions, and salted radish heads.

Fortunately, we have left pots, pans and other utensils so that we can supply boiled water ourselves.

Shan Zi and Zhao Danian gathered the three company commanders together and discussed the next battle plan while chewing black baba pancake rolls.

During the discussion, Zhao Danian raised two questions——

First, whether the plainclothes team monitors our marching route, and if there is no surveillance, whether to continue to take decoy measures.

Second, if the enemy monitors our whereabouts, when can we arrive at Yukou Mountain?

Regarding the first question, Shanzi said that every move of the independent camp was monitored at all times, but the plainclothes dogs hid in the dark and were not discovered.

As for the second question, Shanzi did not respond directly. He only asked Zhao Danian to be more vigilant and be ready for battle at all times.

Shanzi finally decided that in order to prevent the enemy from sneak attacks at night, everyone would rest in the trenches.

After noon, Ishikawa Shiro led the reinforcements to join Tomita Ryohei. On the way to Yanglin, a plainclothes puppet soldier came to report——

At about ten o'clock in the morning, dozens of Tuba Road passed through Yanglin District.

After traveling several miles away, the following plainclothes team members finally discovered that Tubal Road entered a large valley, and it seemed that they had been stationed here.

Later, after asking an old farmer, I found out that the name of this valley is Yukou Mountain.

After a long journey, it was already dusk. Shiro Ishikawa reined his horse from a hill and asked the plainclothes puppet soldiers leading the way about their location.

The plainclothes puppet soldiers said that this place is located southwest of Yanglin Town, less than thirty miles away from Yukou Mountain.

After answering, the plainclothes puppet soldiers straightened their bodies and waited for Shiro Ishikawa to give further instructions.

Sure enough, Shiro Ishikawa asked again whether Tubal Road had been moved.

The plainclothes puppet soldiers went on to say that Yukou Mountain had been monitored by several brothers. If Tubal Road had been moved, they should have come to report the situation.

Ishikawa Shiro thought for a moment and ordered the plainclothes puppet troops to quickly return to Yukou Mountain and identify four landmark points one kilometer away from Yukou Mountain.

After the plainclothes puppet troops left, Shiro Ishikawa ordered the troops to camp on the spot again.

Tomita Ryohei was puzzled and asked Ishikawa Shiro what he planned.

After listening to Ishikawa Shiro's plan, Tomita Ryohei sighed and praised Ishikawa Shiro for his profound strategy and being an outstanding talent of the Japanese Empire.
