Chapter Thirty-Eight

If Tomita hadn't been too greedy, before dawn, more than 300 Japanese troops would have raided the independent battalion base camp with less than 200 people like ghosts.

It was less than half an hour before dawn, so the orderly knocked on the door to remind Tomita.

He picked up his watch from the pillow and saw that it was already a quarter past four. Tomita cursed, put on his clothes and ran away. He rushed to Huanglang Mountain in one breath and the sky turned bright.

When the Japanese troops were dispatched from Huanglang Mountain, they were clearly seen by the sentries on the Circle Ridge. The sentries held back all their strength and rushed down the slope of the mountain in one breath.

After bypassing two hills, the sentry burst open the door of Shanzi's dormitory.

After listening to the sentry's report, Shanzi frowned. He didn't know at this moment whether the Japanese were shooting arrows at the target and hitting the target, or whether they were blindly catching fish and just groping for it.

But no matter what, the first thing Shan Zi thought of was that this geomantic treasure land in Circle Ridge must not be exposed to the enemy. Once it is exposed, it means losing it.

Thinking of this, Shanzi reacted quickly and immediately made the decision to kill two birds with one stone——

The first was to completely dispel the Japanese army's suspicion of Quanquanling, and the second was to lead the Japanese by the nose and beat the Japanese soldiers as they walked.

With no time to put on his clothes, Shanzi sat on the bed and instructed the sentry to quickly notify Yumei and Jinye, asking them to run to the camp headquarters.

As soon as the sentry crossed the threshold, Shan Zi called Xiao Liu again and ordered Xiao Liu to inform Zhao Danian that all the commanders and fighters in the base camp must gather urgently and the guard platoons should all be dispatched in plain clothes.

Xiao Liu left in a hurry, and Shanzi put on his military uniform hastily and went to the report room alone.

Xiaoru was very surprised when she heard that the radio stations and manuscripts were being packed urgently. She was about to ask what happened, but she saw that Shanzi had already walked out of the door.

In less than three minutes, Yumei and Jinye ran into the camp headquarters out of breath.

After briefly describing the action plan, Shanzi instructed Yumei to lead the third platoon and the radio operators in civilian clothes to move the radio station and horses. The team headed west from the base camp and found a remote area to hide.

Shanzi emphasized that no matter what the situation was, no one was allowed to rush back to camp before dark.

After listening to Shanzi's arrangement, Jin Ye was the first to complain——

Since you want to lure the Japanese away, why bother moving here and hiding? Keep everything that should be left in the base camp, and don't do things like farting and taking off your pants, which is a waste of time.

Shanzi said that the devil is not a dog in the hand. He should go wherever he is told. He should keep a guard up in everything. Only in this way can he be prepared for any danger.

After saying that, Shanzi stood up suddenly and strode out of the regiment headquarters.

In the Jiagu on the east side of the company, four columns formed an orderly formation.

When Shanzi came to the front of the queue, Zhao Danian stood up and saluted: "Report to the battalion commander, all the commanders and fighters in the base camp have been assembled. Please give instructions."

Shanzi raised his hand in return and told Zhao Danian to bring enough ammunition and lead all units of the battalion headquarters to transfer the sick and wounded to the tunnel behind Quanquan Ridge, and then rush around Heya Village to Pheasant Ridge.

As soon as he finished speaking, Shanzi turned to face the queue and shouted: "The logistics organization takes urgent action. The third platoon and the radio operators follow the instructions of the instructor. The others disperse and run forward."

In an instant, nearly a hundred soldiers followed Shanzi and flew due east.
