an accident

The whole night, mother and daughter hugged each other, and An Jinran couldn't remember when she fell asleep. But this was the first solid sleep she had ever had since An's father passed away.

When she woke up, An's mother was no longer around. An Jinran smelled the scent left by An's mother on the pillow, held the quilt in her arms for a while, and then got up. When she walked out of the room, she was surprised to see someone sitting in the living room.

This person turned out to be Yan Yu.

The cup in front of the other party was still steaming, so he must have just arrived. An Jinran subconsciously looked around, but there was no sign of An's mother.

With doubts in his heart, he walked over and sat down opposite Yan Yu.

"What's up?"

Compared with the previous indifferent confrontations, An Jinran behaved surprisingly calmly this time.

There is no hatred, no anger, and no resentment.

Yan Yu probably didn't expect that she would talk to him so calmly. While he was surprised, he said with a hint of embarrassment: "I just want to come and see you."

"Thank you, I'm fine." An Jinran herself didn't understand why she suddenly didn't seem to have such strong hatred when she saw the other person again.

"Jin'er..."

Yan Yu was about to speak, but was interrupted by An Jinran: "Don't say anything first. I only want to ask you one question. Did you shoot my father..."

"No." Although Yan Yu didn't understand why the other party asked this, he shook his head firmly.

An Jinran paid attention to his expression. His breathing was smooth and his eyes were calm. He didn't look like he was lying.

Then, he calmly issued an order to expel the guest: "Okay, you can leave."

"Little Jin'er?" Yan Yu's eyes were filled with confusion.

An Jinran repeated extremely calmly: "I said you can leave."

Yan Yu wanted to say something else, but seeing her face, he swallowed the words on his lips. Yi Yan stood up, but when he walked to the door, he couldn't help but stop: "Whether you believe it or not,

I never thought about hurting you or dad. Even if he is the primary target of our anti-gang operation, there are clear regulations not to shoot him. I didn't expect that dad would be successful in the matter at the car repair shop.

The gun was definitely not made by me or our people. I shot it to prevent all of this from happening, but it was still a step too late."

"Dad said that the most regretful thing in his life is that he could not give you a complete father, and could not accompany and care for you when you grew up like other parents. In fact, he really hopes to live a peaceful life with you.

, It’s a pity that I still couldn’t wait until that day.”

"Let's go!"

An Jinran didn't know whether she should believe him or not. She just felt that her mind was very confused and her heart was very confused. But no matter whether what the other party said was true or not, she and him were destined to have no chance.

.

She will investigate the truth. She also hopes that she will never have any more interactions with him.

Yan Yu glanced at her for the last time, his expression as dejected as ever. His eyes, which had always been full of energy, were now filled with only sadness and loss.

"Wait a moment."

Just when Yan Yu was about to step out, An Jinran suddenly spoke up, calling him back and saying, "What did you mean when you just said that my dad hopes to live a peaceful life with us?"

From the other party's words, An Jinran vaguely felt that there seemed to be some hidden secret that she didn't know about.

Yan Yu didn't give him the answer he wanted, he just answered vaguely: "Maybe, he is already tired of that kind of life!"

But such an answer was obviously not enough to satisfy An Jinran's doubts.
