60. Rescue a Strange Man

The bow in his hand gestured to this one and then to that one. The number of arrows was limited and he never dared to shoot.

Seeing this, Bai Haitang took out the gunpowder ball. If he didn't take action, he might really be feeding the wolves.

Following the waving gesture of Bai Haitang's arms, the two gunpowder balls fell hard into the wolf pile. The sound of "bang bang" was deafening, the fire was radiating, and the frightened wolves scattered. The smoke from the remaining gunpowder filled the air.

The two wolves fell to the ground in a bloody mess. The rest of them were injured, some were maimed, some were slightly injured, and they all ran away with their tails between their legs.

The man put down the torch and shot the arrow in his hand at the wild wolf that had been trying to pounce on him, but it hit the tail. With the arrow, the wolf jumped deep into the woods.

After the wolves were dealt with, the man did not say thank you, but instead stamped his feet on the spot.

"The way you express your gratitude is really special." Bai Haitang said.

"My wolf hair, my wolf hair..." The man was not only stamping his feet, but also beating his chest, as if he had missed a great opportunity, looking at the bloody corpses of the two wild wolves, not a single hair was intact.

"You can change places and use human flesh to lure them here again. I won't take action a second time," Bai Haitang said.

The man turned around and sat down on the ground.

"Forget it, let's grill some wolf meat. What did you use just now? Why is it so powerful?" The man stared at Bai Haitang curiously.

This man still refused to thank him for saving his life.

Whether it's a wild boar or a wild wolf, no matter how you grill it, the meat will always be burnt, and Bai Haitang doesn't want to challenge her appetite.

"Little thing, it's not worth mentioning. You can enjoy the wolf meat yourself. Goodbye." Bai Haitang turned around and left.

"But I really want to know, can you tell me? Also, why are you in the mountains in the middle of the night?" The man still had a lot of questions.

"It's not for Langhao anyway." Bai Haitang replied without turning around.

"Let's spend the night together tonight, it will be safer. Although I am a hunter in the mountains, many bows and arrows fell off the cliff today, and there are not many left," the man said.

"Can't even the people who have saved your life be more sincere?" Bai Haitang asked back.

"What's the meaning?"

"You are not a hunter in the mountains." Bai Haitang was not curious about his identity. They met each other and passed by each other as strangers.

"Girl, why do you say that? I admit that your bow and arrow are better than mine, but why do you say that I am not a hunter? Could it be that you are?" The man asked to find out.

"Orions make a living by hunting and selling beast furs. You just hit the tail with an arrow, which destroys the integrity of the fur. The price is much lower when you sell it. A real hunter will choose the eyes of the beast." Bai Haitang said.

The man was speechless.

"I'll sleep over there, and you sleep on the opposite side. Let's take care of each other." Bai Haitang pointed to a place far away opposite her shelter. This way, the two of them would have a wider field of vision, and they could see if there was any danger behind each other.

"Okay, it's up to you. What's your name?" the man asked.

Bai Haitang pointed to a nearby crabapple tree that was full of red flowers.

"Honghua? So your name is Honghua." The man said to himself.

Bai Haitang did not deliberately correct him. They met by chance and passed by by chance.

The wolves did not come again. One night, Bai Haitang and the man lived peacefully. Although the man asked many questions, Bai Haitang went to find Duke Zhou.
