Chapter 55: Don Quixote

In the empty and quiet library, Downton's eager voice could be heard far away.

"How to obtain the qualification to borrow? Defeat the guardian gate god?"

"You can only obtain some low-level permissions. If you want to reach the middle and high levels, you need a contribution level." Homer warned sincerely, "The purpose of the big library is not to make profits, but to let the borrowers understand that any knowledge,

They are all priceless, wealth, and strength. Only if you feel sorry for your sweat and hard work, will you cherish the opportunity to read."

"Agree!" Downton did not ask in detail how to obtain the contribution points. For now, he just worked hard to obtain the borrowing qualifications.

"Library Elf, apply for a library card!" The magic book landed on the lending table, and it was accepted as soon as the words were projected.

Bang, bang, two soft sounds, two elves with dragonfly wings appeared in the air, their little matchstick-like arms hanging down, each holding a disk, and flew in front of Downton and Celes.

Downton noticed that there was a pointer in the center of the disk, and the edges were engraved with densely packed ornate words, all of which were the names of literary masterpieces.

"Just touch it, I wish you good luck!" The voices of the book elves are cheerful and full of childishness. They are the administrators of the big library.

Downton bent his middle finger and flicked the dial, and the pointer immediately started spinning like a windmill. After a few breaths, it stopped.

"Exam question, "Don Quixote."" After the book elf announced, there was a bang, and a book appeared in his hand. The pages of the book flipped and unfolded, and a big bubblegum-like mouth popped out, swallowing Downton.

Go down.

"Downton!" Celes was startled.

"Don't worry!" Homer quickly reassured him. The Death Banshee was so nervous that she actually raised her hand to release magic and attack the elf administrator.

"Is it really okay?" Celes was still worried.

"I promise, choose quickly!" Homer urged. He hated wasting time, and besides, he couldn't harm them.

Celes touched the disc absently.

"Exam question, "Les Miserables"!"

There is also a leather-bound book that devours Celes.

The moment Downton was swallowed by the bubble, he pulled out the ogre saber, but as soon as his eyes flashed, he found that he was already standing in a colosseum.

The surrounding stone walls were full of marks from knives and axes, and most of the seats in the stands were broken, giving off a lost smell of ancient ruins.

Crunch, crunch!

The iron gate on the wall opened, and a short war horse came out, dragging a thin knight. He held a spear in his hand, raised up, and placed it on his right chest.

"You're not going to defeat this guy, are you?" Downton blessed himself with the Three Divine Skills, and glanced around from the corner of his eyes to familiarize himself with the battlefield.

Don Quixote didn't say hello and started to charge, but the speed was not fast and his body was still a little shaky, like a newbie who couldn't yet ride a horse.

Downton was not in a hurry, staring at the opponent intently, trying to dodge when the spear was thrust out, but when Don Quixote rushed past, the spear struck him as fast as lightning, like thunder.

Before he could even make a dodge, Downton was hit by a spear on his left shoulder, and was knocked to the ground by the powerful impact.

This was an attack that directly hit the soul, so although Downton did not bleed, the pain did not diminish at all, and the pain caused him to break into a cold sweat on his forehead.

The horse stopped in front of the wall. Don Quixote shook the reins, turned the horse around, and accelerated at a trot.

Downton endured the pain and climbed up, gripping the saber tightly. He knew that he couldn't dodge the attack, so he might as well just carry it and trade his injuries for injuries.

Don Quixote rushed over and thrust out his spear, leaving only an almost invisible afterimage in Downton's field of vision.

With his legs exerted and motionless as a mountain, Downton swung his arms fiercely and slashed with his saber. However, the moment before he touched Don Quixote, he was pierced through the chest by a spear and nailed to the ground.

Downton gritted his teeth but did not cry out. The pain that tore through his body made all the muscles in his body twitch.

The spear was condensed with magic energy. It disappeared without Downton pulling it out, leaving no wounds. However, the damage to the soul was severe enough to cause death.

"You must get up!" Hearing the footsteps of the war horse become more rapid, Downton understood that Don Quixote's third round of charge was coming again.

"He is very courageous and decisive, but his rank is too low."

The famous book "Don Quixote" is suspended in the air, and the fist-sized book elf sits on it with his arms folded, staring at the Colosseum, admiring Downton's determination and courage.

Downton's right leg was hit by a spear again, but he also managed to leave a shallow mark on the horse's armor.

Six rounds passed, and Downton was holding on to his saber to remain standing. However, he stared at Don Quixote, who was charging at him again, and did not give up.

"He doesn't seem to have the intention to kill me. Yes, Homer said that the Great Library is a place for learning, not a arena where lives are lost, so even if I am injured in exchange for injury, I will not die." Downton suddenly said

After realizing it, "It should be to see how long I can hold on, right?"

As soon as this thought flashed through his mind, he was nailed to the ground like a salted fish again.

"Huh? Both of them haven't been kicked out yet?" Homer looked at the time hourglass. With Downton's unyielding character and IQ, it exceeded expectations. It was possible, but Celes was not kicked out either.

It's actually a bit surprising.

In the tenth round, facing the charging knight, Downton took the initiative to meet him.

Don Quixote thrust out his spear and pierced Downton's chest without any surprise.

"Hit me!" The huge pain tore at the nerves, and Downton bit the corners of his mouth in an instant, but he endured it, his legs exerted force in an instant, and he sprinted forward.

With his chest skewered on the spear, Downton quickly approached the knight, slashed with the saber in his left hand, and quickly pulled out the warrior dagger from his waist with his right hand.

With a clang, the saber was knocked away by Don Quixote, but the dagger successfully stabbed the waist of the knight's armor, bursting out a large number of sparks and grazing its belly.

After all, the weapons are too bad to break the defense.

The war horse ran past, and Downton knelt on the ground, struggling and trying to get up, but he couldn't use any strength. He could only let Don Quixote charge again, and then he was hit and completely fainted.

The Book Elf stood up and applauded. The significance of this exam is to give the borrowers a hard blow to their souls, causing them to experience great pain, in order to remember that the price of entering the great library is very heavy. Opportunities are hard-won and must be cherished.

.

What Don Quixote has to do is to keep attacking until Downton's nerves can no longer bear it and he is kicked out of the Colosseum.

The Book Elf has hosted so many lending qualification exams, and Downton was the first one to fight back bravely from the beginning, and encountered Don Quixote's borrowers the most.

If the weapon wasn't so bad, it might actually hurt Don Quixote. As for killing him, there's no need to think about it, because the level difference is too big. If Mr. Knight explodes with all his strength, he can kill Downton instantly.

When Downton woke up, he had a splitting headache.

"It's very good. I got the e-level permission, which is one level higher than I expected." The magic book praised. After listening to the book elf describe the process of the Colosseum, it became more satisfied with the new owner.

"Is she okay?" Downton was a little worried when he saw Celes lying next to her.

"Relax, the Great Library won't kill people. This attack on the soul is also a kind of baptism. Didn't you find that the soul seeds are more condensed?"

"What level of authority does she have?" Downton thought that he should prepare some good weapons. The ripping dragon's teeth were too heavy to carry for self-defense at all times.

"Level F." The Grimoire is a little proud that the candidates it recommended did not embarrass it. You know their names, but they will remain on the entrance examination score list.

"How many levels are there in total? Is level E considered very powerful?" Downton was very excited, "What books can I borrow? How many books?"

"Third to last!"

Poof, Downton almost spat out a mouthful of old blood, and his face suddenly fell.

"You are satisfied. This permission already allows you to stay in the library for ten days at a time." Homer knew that Downton would definitely ask, so he educated himself in advance, "In other words, the time flow rate of the Western Continent and the library is the same.

Than ten.”

"One day has passed on the Western Continent, but ten days have passed here?" Hearing Homer's affirmative answer, Downton felt incredible, "Doesn't that mean I can have more study time than others?"

"Yes!" Homer added, "But the number of entries is limited. You are only allowed to enter once a week."

"That's quite a lot. It's equivalent to one month. It's thirty-six days longer than others. It's a huge profit." Downton laughed, but soon he frowned again, enough to kill a sea turtle.

crab.

"You want to say that your body will grow faster than others, right?" With Homer's wisdom, it was easy to deduce what Downton was worried about.

"Well, I don't want to get old while my sister is still young. If that happens, I would rather not come." Downton was depressed.

"Even if your imagination reaches the limit of your imagination, you still can't imagine the power of the Great Library. When you get E-level permissions, the flow of time in your body has been stabilized. In the library, your body is in accordance with the laws of the West.

The mainland has grown over time.”

"So powerful?" Downton was surprised, "What on earth is this place?"

"This is the powerful power of the law. As for the location of the Great Library, I don't know, but it should be in a higher main material plane." Homer was very calm, "As your strength increases,

Your horizons will continue to expand and you will see more incredible things.”

"In that case, can I practice here?" Downton kept complaining that he didn't have enough time.

"Daydreaming, there is no magic energy here at all, how can you practice? Even if you bring in magic drills that are higher than the magic stone, they will quickly dissipate as long as you use it." Homer dispelled Downton's last bit of luck, "

This is a big library, it’s for you to learn knowledge, it’s limited to this, don’t have unrealistic ideas.”
