Chapter 16 The Strange Coffin Gate Gorge

After walking about a mile on the mountain road, Lao Wu and the others suddenly stopped in front of them.

This is a cliff that drops a fucking thousand meters deep.

Even though I’m not afraid of heights, I was terrified when I saw it.

But the scenery is pretty good and quite eye-catching.

It is surrounded by mountains, green pines and cypresses, and is lush and green, with the Mangjiang River below.

Old Wu pointed: "That's Guanmen Gorge!"

Looking in the direction of his finger, under the cliff, the Mangjiang River passed through the dense primitive jungle and flowed beside a large canyon.

Guanmenxia Gorge is the Grand Canyon.

At first glance, it does look like a coffin, so it’s not called ‘Coffin Gate Gorge’ in vain.

Although it looks like a coffin, I have to say that the Guanmen Gorge is really spectacular and has the style of the Three Gorges.

After stopping for a moment, Lao Wu turned to the other side, where there was a path leading to the bottom of the cliff.

Seeing this, we followed him.

After walking for about half an hour, we finally reached the bottom of the cliff.

In front is the virgin forest with thick and strong trees.

Each one is estimated to be about ten meters high.

At this point, you can already hear the sound of the rushing water of the Mang River.

We walked through the primeval forest, followed the sound of water, and walked for another ten minutes before we saw the Mangjiang River.

Kanmon Gorge is right in front of you!

The cliff doesn't look too high.

But when I got closer, I saw that this mother was so tall that we looked like ants standing in front of it.

"From now on, be damn careful!"

Old Wu turned his head and said seriously.

The tiger shrank his neck: "What's going on? Are we about to encounter that big and dangerous thing?"

Old Wu shook his head: "Going through Guanmenxia Gorge is the tomb of Ma Xiangu!"

This time, no one interrupted him.

He went on to say: "The Fangshan people are greedy for the century-old ginseng in the tomb, and they are greedy for the bright weapons in the tomb, but they are all half-learned and half-hearted, and many people have died!"

He glanced at us: "Due to the special magnetic field of the Feng Shui array, a strange energy will be generated in the corpse over time, and it will mutate after being eaten by something."

"Something? What is that?"

Scar asked.

Lao Wu replied: "The scientific name is horseshoe crab, but most people call it ghost louse!"

Scar and the other three looked confused: "Horse crab?"

Dayong looked at me and said: "When it comes to knowledge here, can you trust the red flag? What is a horseshoe crab?"

I explained: "It looks like a shield. It is an ancient creature that lives in the sea. It existed more than 400 million years ago and is called a 'living fossil'."

Scar looked stunned: "Damn it, this life is longer than that of a tortoise or a bastard."

I was speechless and said: "That is the history of existence, not individual life."

He then nodded understandingly: "That's right!"

At this time, Lao Wu took out a few pendants and handed them to us: "Put them on, these can ward off evil spirits!"

I took it and took a look. I didn't know what kind of teeth it was. They were pointed.

Seeing our confused faces, Lao Wu explained: "These are the teeth of a mountain guard dog. I traveled half of the country to get them. Don't let me lose them!"

"Mountain dog?"

The tiger looked confused.

Old Wu glared and said: "It's like his mother leading a group of elementary school students. The mountain guard dogs are black dogs raised by temples or Taoist temples in the mountains to protect the courtyard!"

"Yi Ge, what kind of ghost louse are you talking about to ward off evil spirits? Is that thing afraid of this?"

Scar asked.

Old Wu shook his head: "This place is shrouded in gloom all the year round, and there may be something evil happening here. Wear it just in case."

We nodded, put on our pendants and walked towards Kanmonkyo Gorge.

The closer I get to Kanmen Gorge, the weirder it feels to me.

The moment I walked into Kanmon Gorge, my heartbeat suddenly accelerated!

It's like there's something extremely terrifying inside.

I subconsciously looked up and saw that the mountain walls on both sides were hundreds of meters high, leaving only a gap.

The light dimmed instantly, making the Kanmon Gorge even more eerie.

Although it is blocked by trees, it is still easy to see that it tends to be a straight mountain wall.

Climbing is simply impossible.

In other words, once danger occurs, there is only one way to escape.

That's how we come in.

Along the way, we were careful every step we took, for fear that something might suddenly jump out.

After walking about a hundred meters further, Lao Wu suddenly waved his hand to signal us to stop.

At this moment, each of our hearts is in our throats.

Lao Wu pointed up, and we looked up.

It was covered by two protruding rocks, so that our location looked like a bridge tunnel.

Taking shelter from the rain is a good choice.

He said: "It's getting dark. It's not safe to camp up there!"

He turned to look at Scar: "Ma Liu, come up!"

Scar was stunned for a moment, then nodded.

Obviously he didn't react. He thought Lao Wu asked him to stop because he had discovered some danger.

Unexpectedly, we were asked to set up camp and rest.

Scar took out a grappling hook with a rope from his bag, swung it around a few times, and then suddenly threw it upward!

The grappling hook grabbed the other end, and Scar pulled it once. When he found it was stable, he climbed up with two clicks.

The ground was somehow three or four meters high from the rock above. Using his hands and feet, Dao Scar jumped up to the top in the blink of an eye. This skill made me speechless.

If it were me, he wouldn't be able to crawl for an hour?

After thinking about it for a while, I seem to be the least capable among them.

Old Wu used to be a special soldier, and no one here can match him in terms of skill or knowledge.

Tigers are good at scooping up corpses, and they also know some ways to cure evil spirits.

Scar is also a special soldier. He used to be Lao Wu's subordinate and is best at climbing.

A brave man is strong, powerful, not bad in skill, and relatively calm.

As for me, I have no strength, no skills, and I don’t know anything...

It's really shocking.

As I thought about it, I unconsciously fell into a trance.

It wasn't until Scar called me that I realized what I was doing.

When I turned around, I saw that all the damn guys were up there, and I was the only one still down there.

After looking at the weird Menmenxia Gorge, I quickly grabbed the rope and they pulled me up.

In the mountains, we set up tents, but that's not very practical here, so we have to set up a tent.

After setting up the tent, we chopped some firewood, then sat in front of the tent and lit a fire to prepare hot cans.

At this moment, the sky began to get dark, the Kanmon Gorge became dark, and the strange atmosphere seemed to become stronger.

After about half an hour, after we finished eating the cans, Lao Wu asked us to put out the fire quickly.

When we heard him say this, we instantly became nervous.

It's the old way of covering it with soil.

Scar then said: "Brother Yi, is something more sinister than Wuyazi about to come out?"

After saying that, he looked around nervously.

But due to the dim light, the distance that can be seen is not very far, and there are not even any hairs.

Old Wu frowned and said: "It's almost time, it will appear as soon as it gets dark!"

He looked at us and said, "Just lie down for me for a while. If you don't want to die, don't make a sound!"
