Chapter 8: The King's Family Comes

Ling Chen was ecstatic when he took the long sword. Although he only held it in his hand for a while, he actually felt like he didn't want to let it go.

He was not a greedy person, but the sword in his hand seemed like his long-lost brother. Even though it was his first meeting, it still made his heart beat faster.

The old man watched the changes in expression on Ling Chen's face from the side, but his eyes were filled with an inexplicable smile.

"Senior, can I really take this sword away?"

The old man chuckled and nodded, pointed at the long sword in Ling Chen's hand and said, "Since I chose you to give this sword to you, I have to give it to you even if I don't want to give it to you!"

The moment Ling Chen held the hilt of the sword, the long sword vibrated, which showed that it had reached a resonance with the profound energy in Ling Chen's body.

The old man loves swords, so how could he bear to let the sword he forged fall into the hands of mortals. Because of this, the old man chose to give this proud sword to Ling Chen.

Ling Chen chatted with the old man again, and an hour later, he and Li Hu said goodbye to the old man and walked towards Ling's house.

Before the two left, the old man told Li Hu to come here in three days to learn how to make swords with him, and Li Hu naturally agreed happily.

Along the way, Li Hu didn't ask Ling Chen why he wanted to worship the old man as his teacher, as if all the decisions Ling Chen made were correct in his opinion.

Ling Chen originally wanted to explain a few words, but after thinking about it he held back. He felt that Li Hu should slowly experience many things by himself, only in this way could he grow up faster.

Since this long sword did not have a scabbard, Ling Chen wrapped the brocade box in a piece of black cloth and slung it across his body.

Although Ling Chen was not tall, it was indeed a bit strange to carry such a big box on his back.

Before leaving, Ling Chen had asked the old man to make a black iron scabbard for his sword. He and Li Hu would pick it up three days later, so for the time being, Ling Chen could only carry the long sword on his back.

Originally, according to Ling Chen's idea, he wanted to take the long sword with him when he took out the scabbard three days later. But the old man told him that the sword would not have to leave his body from now on, so that it could warm and nourish the sword.

The long sword will give birth to the sword spirit as soon as possible.

Ling Chen then followed Li Hu to another street to buy some snacks and some cloth that his wet nurse loved, and did not walk towards Ling's house until sunset.

After the two of them entered through the side door on the east side of Ling's Mansion, they returned to the house where Li Hu's mother was, and Ling Chen had no intention of visiting his father.

During the journey, Ling Chen's nanny once persuaded him to go see his father, but Ling Chen just laughed it off and mumbled.

Ling Chen's nanny also knew about the conflict between Ling Chen and his father, and later simply stopped mentioning it.

In this way, Ling Chen spent his birthday with his nanny, and three days later he went to personally take back the dark iron scabbard that the old man had made for him.

The moment the long sword was inserted into the scabbard, Ling Chen felt that the strong heart buried in his heart was completely ignited. The sword seemed to have some kind of spirituality, and every time he drew the sword, he had a different feeling.

Today is already the fourth day that Ling Chen has returned home. These four days have been more peaceful and happy than he has been in the past four years.

After dinner in the afternoon, Ling Chen and Li Hu planned to go to the blacksmith shop to visit the old man.

But as soon as he walked to the backyard, he heard several servants of the Ling Mansion discussing something in a low voice.

"Hey, have you heard? I heard that someone from the Wang family is here. It is said that our Ling family maimed Wang Batian's nephew."

"Isn't that right? I've heard about this too. It's said that that person was very aggressive and broke all the limbs of the opponent. It would be strange if the Wang family didn't come in person."

"Stop talking. There are too many people here to avoid being overheard. That group of people are having a fierce quarrel outside the front yard right now. I heard they even started fighting just now."

Listening to the discussion of his servants, Ling Chen stopped and frowned tightly.

Li Hu looked back at Ling Chen who had stopped, and called out: "Brother Chen, why don't you leave."

Ling Chen took two steps forward and whispered: "Huzi, today you go to your master alone. I have some things to deal with."

Li Hu nodded honestly, then seemed to remember something, raised his head and asked: "Brother Chen, didn't you say you didn't want others to know about your return this time? Why do you still have things to deal with?"

Ling Chen was stunned and thought to himself: This kid is not stupid at all!

"Haha, don't ask any more questions. After thinking about it, I decided it would be better to go see my father. You go first today. Remember, wait for me at your master's place. When I pick you up, you will come back.

Otherwise, don’t rush back to Ling Mansion alone, remember?”

Seeing that Ling Chen's expression suddenly became serious, Li Hu nodded dully, then scratched the back of his head and left with a puzzled look on his face.

After watching Li Hu leave the courtyard, Ling Chen breathed a sigh of relief.

Ling Chen had already guessed something from the servant's conversation just now. It seemed that the Wang family had really arrived early in the morning.

That day, he thought the young man in black was just talking casually, but he didn't expect that he really had something to do with the Wang family.

This incident happened because of himself, and he didn't want Li Hu to be implicated, so he tried to find a way to get him away.

Although Ling Chen didn't want to see his father, he didn't want the Ling family to suffer another blow because of his own reasons, which would make him feel uneasy.

After sorting out his mood, Ling Chen walked towards the front yard.

At this time, the front yard of the Ling family was already full of people, and a chilling air filled the air over the entire Ling family.

Ling Chen stood behind a large pillar and looked intently. He suddenly discovered that one of the young men covered in white bandages was the young man in black whose limbs were broken by him that day.

"It's indeed them!"

Ling Chen's eyes widened. This kid bullied Li Hu. If he hadn't bumped into him, who knew what the consequences would have been. Now that he had taught him a lesson, he actually went to the Ling family. It seemed that the Wang family really wanted to

Let's use this to make use of the topic.

In front of the vast courtyard, a middle-aged man stood next to the bandaged boy with an angry face. One hand was placed on the bamboo chair where the boy was sitting, while the other hand was holding a long sword tightly.

His entire body exuded an aura of violence that was difficult to conceal.

Ling Chen did not know this person, so he could be sure that this person was not Wang Batian, the head of the Wang family.

Not far in front of the middle-aged man, Ling Xiao stood with his hands behind his back, and beside him stood Ling Chen's second uncle and third uncle.

I heard the middle-aged man speak coldly and shout to Ling Xiao: "Master Ling, I advise you to hand over the people in your house, otherwise, don't blame our Wang family and your Ling family for breaking up!"

ps: I won’t go into details about the various situations today, but the second update will be presented shortly.
