Extra Story 5: The Mountain and Sea Monster Lin Daneng: A Biography of the Buddha Emperor

Fuyun City is located to the north of Yuyang City, the capital of the Imperial Chi Kingdom. It is the largest city in the Imperial Chi Kingdom. It is full of flowers and is famous for its local longevity fruit production.

This longevity fruit is actually a kind of medicine that can strengthen the body. However, because it tastes delicious and ordinary people not only do not feel any discomfort after eating it, but also strengthen their body, it is quickly sought after by the world.

Later, there was the Drunken Immortal Carp in Juxian Pavilion, so Fuyun City became increasingly prosperous and powerful.

The word "Fuyun" means "What do you want in a flashy life? The clouds roll and the clouds soothe the heaven and earth."

This name was mentioned by an eminent monk who gained enlightenment. Legend has it that a traveling eminent monk came to Fuyun City and practiced medicine in the city. He was deeply loved by the local people because of his charity and charity.

One day, the monk was still practicing medicine in the city as usual. Suddenly, he saw a young man running over, knocking over several stalls along the way. When he came to the monk, the young man knelt on the ground with a "plop".

The monk looked suspicious and was about to ask when he heard the young man cry: "Master, please master, please save my father. Please save my father."

The monk hurriedly asked: "Donor, may I ask what disease your father is suffering from?"

The young man picked up the monk and left without saying a word.

The two of them hurried through five or six streets and arrived in front of a luxurious mansion. The monk took a deep breath and asked, "Donor, what happened when you fell to the ground?"

The young man said anxiously: "Master, my father is seriously ill. Please come with me."

After saying that, he led the monk into the garden, passed through several balconies, and came to a hall. At this time, there were dozens of people in the hall.

There were several people who looked like doctors among them, all shaking their heads and sighing. The monk came to the center of the hall, and before he could stand still, he heard a mocking voice. He saw a handsome young man in white humming: "Boss, you have been doing this all day long."

You only know how to eat, drink, whore, and gamble. Now that your father is critically ill, you actually found a monk to come over. Do you already want to perform rituals for your father?"

After hearing this, the young man who brought the monk shouted angrily: "Boss, we are competing fairly. I don't care who I bring here to care about you."

After saying that, he invited the monk to the bedside, and the young man said respectfully: "Master, please save my father."

The monk took a look at the old man lying on the bed and saw that the old man looked about seventy years old. He was as skinny as a stick, his face was purple, and his whole body was swollen. He was obviously poisoned by some kind of poison.

The monk placed his index finger and middle finger on the old man's pulse. After a long time, the monk slowly stood up and said to the young man: "Donor, don't worry, your father is not seriously injured."

After speaking, he picked up the pen on the table in front of him and wrote down a series of medicinal materials, and then said to the young man: "The donor only needs to take the medicine according to the order, and within five days, your father will definitely recover."

The young man was overjoyed and hurriedly kowtowed to the monk. Several people present also kept kowtowing to the monk.

The monk hurriedly helped everyone up, and then he caught a glimpse of the young man in white from the corner of his eye, and saw that his brows were frowning, his face was pale, and his eyes showed a fierce and helpless look.

The monk just smiled and didn't care. Then he declined the family's large sum of money and walked away. The next day, the monk left Fuyun City and wandered around.

A year later, the monk revisited his old place and came to Fuyun City again. He saw the people in the city pointing at him. They didn't take it seriously at first, but later they found it very strange.

So he went to one of his good friends who was in Fuyun City at that time and asked: "Old friend, I don't know why the benefactors in the city are so harsh on the poor monk, and some even say that the poor monk has no conscience and helps the tyrants to commit evil."

After hearing this, the monk's friend sighed: "Last year, the master cured Zhang Yuanwai in the city. I wonder if the master still remembers this?"

The monk pondered for a moment, nodded and said: "The poor monk remembers this. It seems that it was his second son who dragged me there at that time, so what?"

The monk's friend smiled bitterly and said: "Master, you don't know something. That Zhang Yuanwai and his two sons. The eldest son is smart, capable, and philanthropic. He is a well-known young man in the local area, but the second son is good at eating, drinking, whoring and gambling. Those who bully men and women and do all kinds of evil are a danger to this city."

At this point, the monk's friend paused for a moment and continued: "Back then, for some reason, Zhang Yuanwai suddenly became seriously ill and fell unconscious, and the second brother started yelling for his property."

"Zhang Yuanwai's wife, Mrs. Wang, did not want her husband's lifelong accumulation of family property to be lost to her second son, so she intended to entrust the family property to the boss. However, she was afraid that the two brothers would not get along and would be forced to do so, so she said, who would If you can save Zhang Yuanwai, give your property to anyone."

"So the boss and the second brother went to look for famous doctors separately. Unexpectedly, the second boss heard about your name when he went to a kiln again, so he approached you with the attitude of giving it a try. I didn't expect that you actually cured Zhang Yuanwai's illness. alright."

The monk sighed and said, "So after Zhang Yuanwai passed away, it was natural that the second oldest son would inherit all the Zhang family's business."

The monk's friend sighed: "Not only that, the old man also kicked his eldest brother out of Zhang's house, causing his elder brother to become seriously ill and died of depression half a month ago. And the second eldest brother also lost his money because of gambling. My family property was beaten to death by the creditor yesterday."

The monk was silent for a long time after hearing this, and then slowly said: "It seems that this poor monk did something wrong this time."

The monk left Fuyun City that day and came to the wilderness. He was very depressed. He always did things with a kind heart, but he didn't expect that this time, he actually caused Zhang Yuanwai's family to be destroyed. As the saying goes: "I won't kill uncle." Ren Boren died because of me."

Looking at the vast sky and earth in the distance, the sun sets in the west, and the heartbroken people are at the end of the world. Does the red sunset in the clouds seem to laugh at me, an ordinary person?

Monks constantly ask about the reason and purpose of their practice, but in the end they can only find that there is nothing in the world and no one is bothering them.

Just when the monk was in distress, a burst of laughter suddenly came from behind him. The monk slowly turned around, only to see a monk in tattered clothes who looked like a beggar standing behind him at some point.

The monk's hair was fluffy and his face was covered with mud. Only the tattered cassock and the worn string of Buddhist beads on his chest could barely tell that he was a practicing monk.

But even so, this monk gives people a natural feeling, which is the temperament that a person with great understanding of Buddhism can show.

The monk frowned slightly at first, and then said slowly: "I wonder why my friend is laughing?"

The beggar-looking monk laughed again after hearing this, and then said with a smile: "Monk, I laugh at you. I laugh at you that you have been practicing for so many years, but you still can't see through the world's love, hate, fame, and wealth. I laugh at you that you eat fast and chant Buddha every day, but you still have karma in your heart. You read too much, and I laugh at you for studying the Dharma so hard but still not getting the point!"

The monk looked at the beggar monk doubtfully. After a long time, a bright light suddenly flashed through his mind. Then he sat cross-legged, with his eyes closed, and kept chanting the Great Merciful and Great Compassion Reincarnation Mantra. He saw that the scenery around the monk was getting better and better.

It gets blurrier and eventually becomes clearer and clearer.

But the scenery at this time was very different. The monk slowly opened his eyes and saw a magnificent mansion, which was the Zhang Mansion. The monk stood up and was about to move forward. Suddenly, the tightly closed door of the Zhang Mansion

The door suddenly opened with a bang, and a beggar walked out between two servants and was thrown to the ground.

The beggar stood up quickly, turned around and cursed: "Zhang Wangshan, you bastard, I have a share in the old man's family fortune, why did you swallow it all by yourself!"

At this time, a pair of people, both male and female, slowly walked out of Zhang's house. A man in white clothes glanced at the beggar and said disdainfully: "Second brother, why are you still so stubborn? I feel so sad for the brotherhood."

.”

At this time, an old lady in luxurious clothes next to him had a pleading look on her face and said softly: "Boss, why don't you let the second brother come back? Look at how pitiful he looks like this."

The man in white glanced at the old lady and said with a kind face: "Mother, my brother's problem must be made to suffer a little before he can wake up."

At this time, the beggar shouted again: "Mom, he is talking nonsense. He just wants to monopolize his father's family property. The child has changed his mind. Mother, please save the child. If this continues, the child will be really scared."

He's going to die."

The old lady looked even more unbearable at this time, glanced at the beggar, and begged the man in white: "Boss, I think the second brother has suffered enough, why not let him come back."

After hearing this, the man in white said with some displeasure: "Mom, you are harming my second brother. Well, don't worry, my son will definitely make my second brother change his ways. You can go to the back room to rest first."

After saying that, he winked at the two maids behind the old lady. The two maids understood immediately and helped the old lady to walk back. At this time, the old lady could only sigh helplessly and turned back as she walked, her eyes filled with tears.

Sad.

After the old lady walked away, the man in white whispered to the beggar: "Zhang Wangcai, you can never enter this house again in your life. Everything that old man has now belongs to me. This is the combination of fame and fortune."

receive."

After hearing this, the beggar pointed at the man in white and cursed: "You hypocrite, you are despicable and shameless!"

The man in white laughed twice and said: "Hypocrite? Okay, good call. What's wrong with the hypocrite? It's better than you, a waste who idles around all day long. At least I, Zhang Wangshan, have a good reputation. Don't blame anyone. I want to

If you really want to blame me, just blame that monk, because he didn’t cure my father’s illness!”

After hearing this, Zhang Wangcai said angrily: "You bastard, wait, wait, see how I deal with you!" After saying that, he turned around and left.

Zhang Wangshan looked at Zhang Wangcai who was gradually walking away, with a trace of evil in his eyes, and whispered to the housekeeper beside him: "Keeping him will always be a disaster, find someone to do it for him!"

The butler showed a flattering smile on his face and took the order. At this time, the man in white was still gentle and elegant, with a handsome face, but in the eyes of the monk, he was so ferocious and ugly. People's hearts are not as old as snakes swallow elephants. Is it possible that everyone in the world is deceiving others and stealing fame and fortune?

An unscrupulous person?

The monk sighed bitterly and said with a silly smile: "The world's ignorant and bitter people rule the roost. Their blood stains the rivers red. Their fame and dynamism will eventually come to an end. They are carefree and carefree like bears!" After saying this, he burst into laughter, as if he was crazy, and then the surrounding scenery suddenly changed.

, returned to that deserted suburb again.

The monk slowly stood up, bowed to the beggar monk, and kowtowed, saying: "I have learned a lot from the master's advice just now. I beg you to take me in. I am willing to practice Buddhism by your side. I beg you."

Master makes it perfect."

The beggar monk laughed twice, got up from the ground, and said with a smile: "Get up, get up, my master, I came to the world of mountains and seas this time just for you."

After saying that, he waved his right hand gently, and the monk felt a gentle force pulling him up. The monk hurriedly said: "My disciple's name is derived from fate, I wonder what the master calls him?"

The beggar monk laughed loudly and said: "Little monk, my teacher comes from the Great Fanyin Temple in the world of gods and Buddhas. Others call me monk and I am a monk."

After hearing this, the monk fell to his knees again with a "plop" sound, kowtowed vigorously, then stood up and said solemnly: "It is a blessing for me to meet my master in this life, and it is also a gift from the Buddha."

Later, this monk finally understood the great path and became a true Buddha. Later generations were called the Buddha Emperor.
