Chapter 53: Telling a Story

"Oh, then the reason why you are still like a little monkey after living for more than a thousand years is because you took the elixir of life." Nangong Meiwu looked at the Great Sage and asked.

"Well, that's right. Master said that as long as I don't get killed, I can stay like this forever." The Great Sage said seriously.

"Oh my God, this will always be like this? Then if I don't reincarnate for thousands of years, you will still be like this. It's too scary." Nangong Meiwu sighed.

"So, the master said that someone will come in a thousand years and ask me to guard everything here. When the destined person comes, I can leave here forever and never come back." The Great Sage said excitedly.

"Oh, have you ever gone out after being here for so long?" Nangong Meiwu asked expectantly.

"Yes, yes. But every time I go out and talk, people treat me as a monster and throw rocks, cabbage, eggs and other things at me." The great sage said sadly.

It's not its fault that it can talk, so why does everyone say it's a monster?

"It's so pitiful. Don't be afraid, Great Sage. I didn't think you were a monster. Instead, I feel lucky because you can talk so I won't be lonely." Nangong Meiwu said, touching the Great Sage's head.

"Really? But why does everyone think I am a monster, but you don't think so?" the great sage asked in confusion.

"Because I am not from this time and space, oh, no, I should say that I am a person with memories of two lives." Nangong Meiwu said.

Because Nangong Meiwu was poisoned last time, she has completely copied Shangguan Meiwu's memory, so she has the memory of two lives.

"Is there any difference between people who remember two lives?" The Great Sage became even more puzzled.

"Well, it's very different, because my previous life was in an era when men and women were equal and the world was peaceful. There was no emperor, prince, princess, nor a world where men were superior to women." Nangong Meiwu recalled.

"Oh, does that mean you can do anything without others taking care of it?" the great sage asked with great interest.

"Yes, men and women can choose to marry freely, and they can only be monogamous. In other words: hold your son's hand and grow old with him." Nangong Meiwu said more and more enthusiastically.

"Oh, I don't know much about this aspect. Is there anything interesting in that time and space?" the great sage asked again.

"Yes, there is a myth widely circulated in our place." Nangong Meiwu said deliberately to offend it.

"Oh, really? Then tell me what kind of myth it is?" The great sage's curiosity was completely aroused by Nangong Meiwu.

"Haha, it's the myth of a monkey king." Nangong Meiwu said a little more to seduce it.

"Oh, Monkey King? Then keep talking and finish it in one sitting." The Great Sage became anxious.

"It is said that there is a mountain called Huaguo Mountain, with a water curtain cave inside. This mountain is the world of monkeys. There is a golden-haired monkey king, known as the 'Monkey King', and his name is Sun Wukong.

It went to a distant place to study under a master. When he returned, he called himself: Monkey King, Monkey King, and hung up a flag. Later, he angered the Jade Emperor in heaven.

The Jade Emperor asked the heavenly soldiers and generals to capture it, but no matter how many heavenly soldiers and generals were there, they could not control it. The Jade Emperor had no choice but to ask the Lord Buddha from the West to suppress it under the Wuzhi Mountain for five hundred years.

Five hundred years later, after being enlightened by Guanyin Bodhisattva, he became a disciple of the monk Tang Monk who went to the West to obtain the scriptures, and protected Tang Monk from going to the West to obtain the scriptures..." Nangong Meiwu told the story of Sun Wukong to the Great Sage.

"Oh, no wonder you want to call me the Great Sage, but this Great Sage is not that Great Sage. I don't have that much ability." The Great Sage said.

"Of course I know, but you look very much like it." Nangong Meiwu joked.

"Really? Maybe it is my descendant, haha..." the great sage said proudly.

"But! Stop being so pretty," Nangong Meiwu said disdainfully.
