Chapter Fourteen: The Omen of Dying

"Who?" I called, but no one responded.

Zhixi and I looked at each other, walked over, and opened the door.

There was no one around outside the house. I looked around and only found an envelope on the ground.

I picked up the envelope and opened it. When I saw the contents for the first time, my whole heart felt like it was penetrated by a sharp sword. My breath was stagnant, and tears poured into my eyes.

There was only a brief sentence in the letter: 'The water in Lijiang River is in danger, return to Hezi Village as soon as possible!'

"Chen Xian, your uncle is not here?" Seeing me standing still, Zhixi asked curiously.

I didn't answer, turned around, threw the letter to her, and asked, "Is there anything else to pack?"

"If not, let's go now and we can catch the bus in ten minutes."

Seeing me crying, Zhixi was surprised at first, but when she took it and glanced at the contents of the letter, her whole face became serious.

"I have nothing left to deal with, let's go," she said.

Afterwards, we went downstairs, checked out and left.

But I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been memorizing words these past two days.

As soon as I walked out of the hotel door, I bumped into a mother and son.

One of them is the yellow hair that I just cleaned up last night.

Or else it could be said that we are enemies on a narrow road.

Provincial cities are considered big or small, and small are not considered small.

After this night, it is indeed fate that we can still meet each other.

However, now that I saw Huang Mao again, I found that his appearance was different.

Except for those places where my face was bruised and bruised by my beating.

Under his left eye, there was an obvious thin blue-black mark.

In addition, his body was pale and his lips were slightly sallow, which was a typical sign of death!

I just glanced at him and then looked away. I had my own things to do and didn't want to have too much interaction with this yellow guy.

However, as luck would have it, Huang Mao also saw me. He was so excited that the fat on his face trembled, and he shouted at the top of his lungs.

"Mom! I know this kid, he was the one who beat me last night!"

When the woman heard this, her almond-shaped eyes widened and she stared at me fiercely.

"Were all the injuries on my son caused by you?"

I didn't want to talk to the woman, so I pulled up Zhixi, who was already a little frightened, and crossed the two of them.

"Why are you leaving? Did I let you go? Stop right there!"

But the woman stepped in front of me, and held me tightly with her arms as thick as mine, refusing to let go.

"You beat my son and you think that's the end of it? You must tell me clearly today!"

"Then, you have to pay for my son's medical expenses and mental damages, otherwise I will call the police!"

I have a big head, and you can tell by looking at this woman's face that she is a sharp-tongued, mean and unruly person.

If this matter doesn't go to her liking, I'm afraid I won't be able to let it go, but I don't have time to chat with her here.

I simply pointed to Zhixi beside me and said, "Your son molested my girlfriend during the live broadcast last night, so I beat him up. It's only natural."

"You fart!" The woman almost spit in my face, cursing and saying, "My son has a girlfriend, why are you teasing your girlfriend?"

"Besides, your girlfriend may not be any prettier than my son's girlfriend..."

Halfway through her words, the woman looked at Zhixi who was standing next to me, and choked back the second half of her sentence.

Then, the woman continued arrogantly and unreasonably: "Why do you say that my son molested your girlfriend? Do you have any evidence?"

"Your son had a live broadcast last night. There should be a recording. You can go and see it for yourself. By the way, he said he likes wives. This is not a hobby worth publicizing."

"You fart! You are an uneducated thing! I won't allow you to slander my son!" The woman was furious, waving her arms and raising her hands, and slapped me in the face.

I took a step back and dodged easily, but the woman refused and reached out to grab me again. I no longer had the patience to waste it with her, so I waved my hand and put her down.

The woman fell to the ground with an ouch and howled at the top of her lungs: "Ouch! Is there any justice here? It's the right thing for people to bully others in broad daylight!"

"Chen Xian, isn't this good..." Zhixi looked at me with a worried look, and I said calmly: "It's okay, let's go."

"Mom! Are you okay, Mom?" Huang Mao gave the woman a symbolic support, turned his head, and glared at me fiercely.

"You bitch, even if you hit me, you dare to hit my mother? If you don't pay 1.8 million today, this matter will never be over. Stop!"

Maybe it was the clear sky and white sun at the moment, and it was me who pushed his mother down first, which gave this yellow hair a lot of courage in his heart.

He had obviously forgotten the scene where he was beaten by me last night until he knelt down and begged for mercy, so he chased after me.

Now, I have pulled Zhixi to the other side of the road, and a breeze blows.

The air smelled of a mixture of earth and gasoline.

In addition, I also smelled a faint sense of death!

Zhixi turned around worriedly, and I quickly reached out and covered her eyes.

"Don't look at it, you'll have nightmares!"

As soon as he finished speaking, there was a loud bang.

Huang Mao was hit hard by a speeding truck and flew out!

The screeching sound of brakes brought out chaotic screams from the crowd.

This scene made the woman who was lying on the ground completely silent.

"Dead, dead?" Even Zhixi's voice was trembling.

"I told you not to look." I hugged her and walked towards the station without looking back.

Although I helped Zhixi cover up the most bloody and cruel scene, she still saw what happened next.

Along the way, the more Zhixi thought about it, the more her legs felt weak, her face turned pale, until she could no longer walk.

I had no choice but to carry her to the station.

Fortunately, the hotel is not far from the station.

Even after what happened with Huang Mao, we were still stuck and got on this bus.

Sitting in the car, Zhixi calmed down for a long time before she finally came back to her senses.

She first thanked me in a low voice, then changed the subject and asked me.

"You already knew he was going to die? That's why you didn't let me see it?"

I nodded.

"Then the driver wasn't hired by you, was he?"

Fortunately, I'm used to her way of thinking.

"I only kill pigs, not people." I responded bitterly.

"So, he is really dead? He was just hit by a car?"

"That's a big living person. You knew he was going to die, why didn't you remind him?"

Zhixi's words were not a reproach, but more of a curious inquiry.

I asked back: "Why should I remind him?"

Zhixi was silent for a while before speaking weakly.

"Then it's still a human life, isn't it?"

"so what?"

Zhixi stopped talking.
