Chapter 21 Griffith's Stormtroopers

Pairs of big feet stepped on the rain and mud, making a panicked sound. Several panicked deserters crossed the trench on their hands and knees, climbed over the low wall that blocked the trebuchets, and jumped back.

As soon as they landed, seven or eight feather arrows were shot over, pinning half of the deserters to the earth wall.

"Whoa! Stop, stop, I'm Oak from Daddy Rube's team!"

One of the orcs waved his arms and shouted. He was hit by an arrow in his arm, and his companions in the team had been shot through the throat.

"Come here!" A powerful voice of an orc sergeant came from the darkness, "Quickly tell me, idiot, what's going on? Where is the enemy?"

Cries of killing came one after another, and the entire front was shaking. There were bursts of explosions and fires in the rushing rain, but there were no incendiary bombs thrown by trebuchets flying across the sky. In order to intercept human messengers and reinforcements, everyone on the outer layer

Several trenches were dug under the wall, and many soldiers, wargs and dogs were posted.

But they were of no use at all. The sound of fighting and screams spread all over the outer wall and the camp inside, as unstoppable as the snow water pouring from the top of the mountain seeping into the sand.

"No, I didn't see clearly!" the orc who escaped stammered, "Father Rube suddenly had his neck broken. There are humans everywhere, at least three thousand or four thousand!"

"Shut up! I just asked you where the humans are!" the orc sergeant yelled.

"No, I don't know!"

As soon as Oak finished speaking, he flew out and rolled several times in the muddy water. The orc sergeant who kicked him over glanced at the soldiers beside him, "Keep an eye on the front. If there are humans who climb over the low wall, shoot them into a sieve."

"

"No, don't you want to retreat?" several soldiers replied uncertainly.

"Don't retreat! Hold here!" The orc captain grabbed his ax and waved it twice.

The outer wall was lost in the blink of an eye, and it was unknown where the human army had penetrated. If they escaped at this time, the flanks of other squadrons would be exposed, and the entire camp would be penetrated.

So hold on here! The orc roared in his heart. He wanted to shout a few more words to boost morale, but he was worried that the shout would attract the enemy.

Everyone just squatted in the darkness, staring ahead, waiting for the captain's order to release arrows.

Sweat mixed with rain soaked his clothes. The strange explosions stopped for a while, and then tsunami-like shouts and fighting sounds came from further distance. This chaotic sound gradually approached, mixed with the shrill screams of many orcs.

The camp began to collapse.

Suddenly, a small round jar was thrown over from behind the earthen wall and rolled around at his feet. The match rope on the jar burned hissingly.

"What is this!" Oak, who was highly nervous, was the first to yell.

As soon as he finished speaking, the iron can made a loud noise. In the darkness, the orc captain and all the soldiers suddenly couldn't see anything clearly, and there was only an annoying buzzing echo in their ears.

"Kill all the human dogs!" the orc roared and waved his ax. He couldn't see or hear clearly, but he knew with his toes that the enemy had rushed to his side. Suddenly, his throat was tightly strangled, and there was a sharp pain in his chest, and then

I don't know anything anymore.

"Assault, attack towards the inner wall!"

Griffith gave the order and casually threw the orcs he had just stabbed to death on the ground. Beside him stood a large group of orcs covering their eyes, slowly waking up from dizziness and blindness, looking at the sudden appearance in confusion.

Human beings around us.

"Wow!"

Half of the enemies saw the quasi-knight steaming with blood in the darkness and ran away, while the rest grabbed their weapons and jumped towards him. Four or five short spears stabbed him back and forth, first breaking the ice shield, and then being struck by him.

Breastplate blocks.

Griffith clenched Hanguang and slashed away. The holy sword buzzed in the rainy night, like the thunder and lightning thrown by the gods, tearing apart pieces of flesh and blood. The rubble cut off by this blow was like a fallen stone.

The wood fell to the ground one after another.

More dense explosions sounded one after another, and the soldiers of Storm Squadron followed in the darkness. Some of them carried torches, while others took out grenades, lit them and threw them forward.

Lien rushed up with a few men. They first used grenades to blow up the enemy, and then used the shovel with the side open to split open the enemy's head.

Oak ran wildly behind the intricate trenches and earthen walls. Half of the squadron ran with him, and everyone disappeared as they ran. The crackling sound of the skull was heard non-stop, and from time to time there was a piece of scalp stuck to it.

Bones bounced from a distance.

There seemed to be a monster in the darkness, biting the orcs who were left behind, specializing in eating the brains.

"Stop!" A group of soldiers had gathered behind the fortifications in front. An orc officer shouted, "Give me your name!"

"I'm the Orc in Papa Lubu's team!" the Orc shouted, covering the wound on his arm, "Humans are here, Brother Kuadu's team just collapsed!"

"Come here," the orc officer shouted majestically, "how many enemies are there? Where are they? What weapons are they using?"

"They used iron cans and threw them on the ground. There was no light. We couldn't see or hear anything!" Oak said in horror. This poor answer will probably get him kicked again.

But the officer commanding here is a capable and intelligent warrior. He nodded and said to the warriors who were waiting solemnly around him: "Several deserters said the same thing. This is some kind of mysterious item that can release light magic. It can be used in the military formation.

Used to have dizzy and blinding effects.

"After discovering that this thing was thrown over, everyone lowered their heads and turned around. As long as our eyes can see it, we can repel the humans. It's almost dawn, so we hold our position and wait for the brigade to come to support."

"Okay!" the orcs roared in response, grabbing their weapons and hiding them, waiting for the attackers to appear in the dark.

There was the sound of rustling running in the darkness. The explosion and flash that appeared more than ten minutes ago had invaded the interior of the camp and even spread around.

"The humans came so quickly. Which legion are they elite soldiers?" the orc officer muttered silently.

He stared nervously into the darkness, looking around from time to time to be wary of humans attacking his flanks. He was highly concentrated, his thoughts were clear, and he was confident that no ghost in the world could escape his sharp eagle eyes.

It's still dark, and as long as we can block a surprise attack, humanity will fall into chaos. They have broken into our barrier so far, and it's not that easy to gather their troops.

The heavy rain had stopped, and the dark sky seemed to have suddenly become quiet. The highly nervous orc officer temporarily forgot that this was a dangerous battlefield, and his focused thoughts began to wander.

He had no reason to feel that the ancestral spirit was calling him. As a wise warrior, he didn't believe in invisible things or the stone statues in the temple. But the priest girls are really good. If... Oh, it's over.

!

A metal can was suddenly thrown over from behind the low wall on the opposite side, rolling around at my feet.

"Turn around!"

The orc officer shouted and turned around to avoid the coming glare. Suddenly, he heard the sound of flying footsteps, and a figure rushed towards him like wind before the can exploded.

"Boom!"

Flashes of light exploded around him, shocking Griffith to the point of vomiting. He turned his back on his offensive grenade and swung his sword to pierce the chest of an Orc officer.

This warrior was strong and burly, holding a steel ax in his hand, and his reflexes were very sensitive. When he discovered the grenade, he had already turned his head to avoid being blinded.

What a powerful guy, he actually learned to dodge offensive grenades so quickly! Griffith sighed in admiration, took out the Judgment, and shot the orc officer in the eye.

The hot lead bullet burst out the orc's eyeball, splashing a large piece of warm blood, flesh and brain on Griffith's face. He kicked away the fallen orc, and swung his sword to kill an orc next to him with his eyes closed.

Stabbed down.

The orc's muscles were as strong as steel as he held the sword, and the blood-stained hilt was so slippery that he couldn't pull it out after the sword was thrust out. Griffith hurriedly let go and grabbed the fixed ammunition from his waist.

Stab into the barrel of the condemned gun.

"Ula!" The nearby orcs roared, grabbed the weapons at hand and rushed forward. The three orcs also raised their crossbows and aimed towards this direction.

"Attack!" The Storm Squadron behind them jumped over the low walls and ditches, raised their shovels and axes and engaged in a melee with the orcs here.

Griffith, who had no time to reload, turned around and held the barrel of the gun like a hammer, knocking an oncoming orc to the ground. With a twist of his wrist, he stood upright and continued to reload.

“Bang bang bang!”

After a series of dense string sounds, the ice shield burst open, and the arrows were nailed to the breastplate at close range, making a dull sound. Griffith staggered as if he had been hit by a hammer. However, he quickly regained his balance.

He looked at the three orc crossbowmen in front of him and continued to load his flintlock rifle.

Lean, Paxiu and the others struggled with the enemy in the mud and water. Joshua swung the hammer and smashed the heads of the orcs. The orcs who had just fired a round stared closely at the would-be knight who opened the hammer and hurriedly fired the crossbow.

Machine winding.

I have a shield. Griffith raised the corner of his mouth slightly, looked at the three crossbowmen who were shooting at him, raised his musket, pressed it down, and aimed at the orc in the middle.

"Boom!"

The half-orc on the far left lost half of his head, and the other two loosened their hands, and the crossbow arrows flew to nowhere. Before they could cock the bow again, Ace and Desai had already rushed over to kill them with swords and small shields in hand.

got them.

Oak continued to run away. He no longer knew how many times he had run away.

He fled from the outermost wall to the inner camps and trenches, and then ran towards the inner wall facing the town. The solid camp was like paper, and countless people were stabbed before dawn.

hole.

A large group of soldiers had already gathered under the inner wall. They were originally on guard against the army breaking out in the town, but at this time they had all gathered together, forming a tight battle line, and were ready with spears and axes in hand.

"Deserts, come here!" the commander roared.

Hearing the mighty roar, the frightened Orks and the deserters' legs weakened. They lowered their heads and quickly came to both sides of the team, arming themselves with sticks and stones.

Loud bugles echoed across the sky and earth. The dim light of dawn appeared in the charred camp. Many human soldiers appeared on the breached defense line.

They were fully armored, armed with spears and large shields, and poured out of the broken camp like a flood, gathering in front of the orc army under the inner wall.

"Get ready to fight!" The commander said, "Throw your spears and prepare your crossbows!"

As soon as the infantry approaches, he will order a volley of fire. Although the army gathered around him is in pieces, as long as some humans are injured with long-range fire and then charge, things are still very promising.

Suddenly, he found many scattered soldiers rushing out of the human battle line. They were covered in mud, without shields or swords, and each of them was holding a torch and a dark iron ball. The sloppy and beggars

Same.

"It's this thing again!" Oak screamed, holding his head and running away.

"Hold still!" The orc commander did not order an attack. The volleys of spears and crossbows were left to the charging infantry ranks.

Those sloppy soldiers lit the iron balls on fire one by one, and then threw them towards the orcs' queue with all their strength.

Some archers could not bear it any longer and shot down some humans who threw iron balls with arrows. But most of the soldiers adhered to their orders and did not fire volleys or dodge the iron balls that rolled to their feet.

These dark things were smoking and hissing at their feet.

"boom!"

Explosions were heard one after another. The orc team that had finally been organized fell down like a wheat field during the summer harvest, and even the leader was knocked to the ground.

"Brigade, move forward!"

The orc leader struggled to get up. He heard the human battle order and saw their battle infantry stepping forward, stopping at a position of 20 meters, revealing a dense mass of spears, and a round of overwhelming fire was directed at him.

volley.
