Chapter 38 The Last Observation Record

The weather today was very good, but Deng Xiaopeng was in a bad mood. He went to bed early and tried to numb himself by sleeping.

Just last night, Deng Xiaopeng's world completely collapsed - his sister fell ill and passed away.

Everything happened so suddenly that he had no time to react.

It was clear that his idiot brother-in-law went to the restricted area and died in exchange for a life-saving money, but his sister died before she even had a chance to use the money for medical treatment.

It's absurd and ridiculous.

"Idiot brother-in-law, idiot sister."

After losing two close relatives in a short period of time, even though Deng Xiaopeng prided himself on being strong, he could only hide under the quilt and keep wiping his tears.

The funeral organizers in the city seemed to be very busy recently, and it would take a few days for his sister's funeral to be held. He felt very angry, as if fate was against him.

Fortunately, he bought a transparent ice coffin and placed his sister in the center of the living room, planning to spend some time with her for the last time.

When my sister died, she looked very calm, and she seemed to have died without any pain. Except for her pale face, she was almost the same as a living person.

But she was dead, unable to speak, unable to move, and unable to comfort him as usual.

The location of Deng Xiaopeng's bedroom was not good. It was dark all year round and he had to turn on the light to see. He huddled under the quilt until he couldn't cry anymore, then he lay on the bed with his head exposed and stared at the ceiling in a daze.

For a long while, he slowly uttered three words as if talking in his sleep.

"Sister, turn off the lights."

After saying this, Deng Xiaopeng wanted to laugh, but couldn't help but cry.

The light in his bedroom was far away from the bed, and he had to get out of bed to turn it off, so he used to like to jump on the bed and wrap himself up in quilt, and then loudly ask his sister to turn off the light.

My sister would always rush to turn off the lights after the sound started, and she never complained.

But now that his sister is gone, no one can turn off the lights for him anymore.

However, the next second, something horrifying happened.

As Deng Xiaopeng finished speaking, there was only a "pop" sound in the bedroom, and he was instantly plunged into darkness.

It's like...

It was as if someone had actually turned off the light.

A sudden thought occurred to him, and he quickly turned on the flashlight of his mobile phone and looked around, but he didn't see anyone in the room.

In fact, he was the only one in the whole house.

So...who turned off the lights?

Deng Xiaopeng climbed out of bed, walked carefully to the switch, and pressed it several times, but the light never came on.

It turned out that there was a power outage. Deng Xiaopeng breathed a sigh of relief, but suddenly heard something outside.

"Dong dong dong, dong dong..."

Is someone knocking on the door? He walked out of the bedroom and then out of the living room by the light of his mobile phone. All the lights could not be turned on. The light in the room was so dark that even the sky outside became gloomy.

He walked out of the bedroom, stopped in the yard, and shouted.

"Who is it?"

No one answered him.

Deng Xiaopeng frowned, a trace of anger flashed in his red eyes, and he remembered the knock on the door he heard last night.

The knocking frequency was almost the same as before, and it rang twice in succession, but when my sister opened the door, she saw no one at all, only two strange mud footprints in front of the door.

It's very much like a boring prank.

But just after this incident, my sister suddenly fell ill and died.

Thinking of this, Deng Xiaopeng suddenly felt angry and hurriedly opened the courtyard door, only to find that there was nothing in front of it.

He looked around and saw no sign of anyone coming or going.

"Are you hallucinating?"

He walked towards the living room with confusion, but heard the knocking sound again.

"Dong dong dong... dong dong..."

Deng Xiaopeng's body suddenly froze. This time he heard the knocking sound clearly, but the sound did not come from outside the house, but appeared behind him...

It's the sound coming from the living room!

living room?

"Gulu."

A terrible suspicion came into his mind and he almost stopped breathing.

Hold your breath and listen carefully, the room is eerily quiet.

Not long after, Deng Xiaopeng's nerves seemed to be suddenly torn apart - he heard the knocking sound again in the living room.

It's an ice coffin!

He was sweating profusely and turned around to stare at the ice coffin in the room without daring to move.

Is it haunted? He couldn't help but wonder.

Or...is my sister actually not dead?

After waiting for a long time, there was no movement in the ice coffin, and nothing terrible happened, so he had to bravely approach the ice coffin.

The sister in the ice coffin was smiling. Except for her complexion being a little pale, she was as gentle as in her memory. Deng Xiaopeng couldn't help but calm down.

But the next moment, his heart suddenly rose to his throat——

Sister...were you smiling before?

"Dong dong dong dong dong!"

At the same time, a more rapid knocking sound sounded, which was particularly clear in the darkness. Deng Xiaopeng hurriedly took a few steps back, his face full of fear.

The sound came from his bedroom!

But he had just left the bedroom not long ago, and it was obvious that there was nothing in the bedroom.

The sound of knocking sounded every half a minute. There seemed to be a cold puppet hidden behind the door, knocking mechanically on the door. Every blow seemed to hit Deng Xiaopeng's heart, causing the latter to break into cold sweat.

At the same time, the knocking sound behind him sounded again, and it was the ice coffin again!

He didn't even dare to look back, only feeling that it was too cold behind him, as if he was standing on an ice pimple.

Just when Deng Xiaopeng was distracted, the living room suddenly lit up and the knocking sound disappeared.

Finally the call came, and he breathed a sigh of relief.

The light dispelled some fear. Deng Xiaopeng gritted his teeth, quickly opened the bedroom door, and searched the room, but found nothing unusual.

But he always had the feeling that in the darkness where the light could not cover, there was a pair of eyes staring at him with a cold smile.

He shuddered and walked to the ice coffin. There was no smile on the face of the sister in the coffin, she still looked as peaceful as before.

Everything that happened before seemed to be just his hallucination.

Deng Xiaopeng looked at it and suddenly laughed at himself.

"If it's really my sister who is knocking on the coffin, that's actually not bad. At least it proves that she is still close to being 'alive'."

Overwhelmed by grief, Deng Xiaopeng turned off the light in the bedroom and lay down on the bed.

The room was dark and silent.

I don't know how long it took, but suddenly there was a faint knocking sound in the room.

From small to large, from far to near...

It seemed to come from under Deng Xiaopeng's bed.

Not long after, the bedroom became dead silent again.

On the notebook, the number "4" was crossed out with a red pen by a pale palm.

The paper is filled with dense records and some incomprehensible professional terms, as if a set of observation data is being recorded.

Let’s try the next one.”

In the dark room, a person murmured to himself, his fingers lingering over the names of a man and a woman, and finally he circled them.

The notebook was closed, and in the dim light, a few large words were faintly visible on the cover.

"Last observation record."

The handwriting is crooked, different sizes, and the writing style is very different, as if it was written by different people.
