Chapter Fifty-Seven: No Escape

"Ahem, Phils, your team is here to organize civilians to put out the fire. The others are following me!"

After the golden robes eliminated the enemies in the staircase alley, their captain coughed and said a few words quickly, then led his men to chase after Ed's team that had broken through.

"Ahem, bah! He's such a bastard. He just let us go first when he was about to die. Now he wants to take the credit, so he rushes to the front."

Phils, who was leading seven men in golden robes and was about to put out the fire, spat in the direction the captain left and cursed loudly.

"Cough, cough! Call these civilians hiding in the room to come out and put out the fire. Otherwise, if the fire is out of control, they will all die."

Phils cursed a few times, but was choked by the thick smoke and coughed a few times. Then he gave instructions to the members of his team.

Looking at the leaving gold-robed team members, Phils, who was choked by the thick smoke and kept coughing, suddenly had an idea and sat down on a corpse. The thick smoke drifted over his head, and it became less choking after sitting down.

Tap tap tap!

There was a sound of dense footsteps. Phils looked up and saw that encirclement teams from two directions had arrived.

"Those criminals broke out from this direction!"

Seeing some familiar faces from the encirclement team, Phils quickly pointed in the direction the captain left and shouted.

Hurry up and grab the credit, don't let that damn captain get the first credit!

Looking at the encircling team of soldiers passing quickly in front of him, he secretly blessed them in his heart.

When the encirclement team all disappeared in the streets of the northeast, and the soldiers from his own team had not returned yet, Phils, who had nothing to do, suddenly turned his attention to the bodies on the ground.

If you can't get any credit, then see if you can make a little fortune.

As soon as he thought of it, he quickly bent down and groped for the corpse on the ground, whether it was a silver deer or a copper plate, or whether it was stained with blood. Phils directly hid it in his sleeves and boots.

Huh?

Phils's eyes lit up when he saw a corpse leaning against the wall with blood on his face at the corner of the alley.

Although the corpse was wearing shabby soft leather armor, he, who had been hanging around King's Landing all year round, could see the valuable lining inside the corpse's leather armor at a glance.

Get rich!

With this thought flashing through his mind, Phils immediately stopped searching and stepped in front of the corpse.

Just when he was about to reach out and fumble, the eyes of the 'corpse' suddenly opened.

"Uh, uh!"

Robb, disguised as a corpse, stretched out his hands like lightning and grabbed the gold-robed man by the neck.

The huge strength of his hands made it difficult for the golden robe to cry out for help. The golden robe's hands grasped Robb's wrist and tried to break free.

However, Robb's hands were like steel pliers, gripping his neck tightly and not moving at all.

Gradually, Phil's entire face turned purple and blue, and his two eyeballs were bloodshot and protruded from the sockets, like a big-eyed goldfish.

Bang!

When Fells's signs of life disappeared, Robb loosened his hands, threw his body aside, and stood up quickly.

He took a deep look at the three Winterfell cavalrymen who had voluntarily cut off their rear, and saw their trampled corpses.

Robb bit his lip hard, pulled out his long sword from the waist of the golden robe on the ground, turned around and ran towards the southwest direction opposite to Eddard's team.

Using Ed and others as bait, he led the enemy to the northeast exit. Using disturbances such as arson and smoke, Robb pretended to be a corpse and waited for an opportunity to break out in the direction of the Southwest Steel Street, which he was familiar with before.

If, as he expected, the spies in Ed's team didn't want to be exposed, then a few of them should be able to survive.

Is Robb's plan cruel?

From the memories of the past life, it was quite cruel. If Ed's team had not been undercover, they would have been hunted down by so many pursuers and it would have been difficult for them to survive.

Let others be used as bait and escape on your own. I believe that the keyboard warrior in the previous life found out, so he must not stand on the moral high ground and be criticized.

But in this world, these Winterfell cavalry had no objection to this plan. They knew that they were bound to die, but instead tried their best to break out of the encirclement, making false appearances and trying to attract all the enemies.

Just like those red power warriors in China's past, they were brave and fearless!

Of course, Robb will never let their sacrifices be in vain, and will definitely take good care of their surviving families.

Sure enough, as Robb expected, the enemy's attention was attracted to Eddard's team, and the golden robes and Lannister soldiers were completely invisible in Shoemaker's Square.

He leaned against the shop and hid his figure among the clutter on the street, while moving towards the direction of Southwest Steel Street.

On a street, twenty elite Lannister soldiers were lined up silently, waiting for something.

Watching the thick smoke rising from Shoemaker Square, listening to the shouts of death coming from the distance, the screams are endless.

The golden-robed commander standing next to them, Janos Slynt, swallowed nervously.

Feeling a little worried, he turned to Jaime Lannister, who was whistling leisurely beside him, holding a small dagger in his right hand and shaving the nails of his left hand, and asked: "Lord Jaime, we are right here.

Have you been waiting?"

"Why did I ask you to move most of your golden robes to the direction of the Gate of Gods?

Because these barbarians in the north must immediately want to return to the ice and snow wasteland from the gate of the gods.

If everything goes well and the encirclement is completed, they will be escorted to us shortly."

Hearing Genos' question, James stopped whistling and looked sideways. The timid commander answered with a smile.

Hearing this, Genos subconsciously said, "What if it doesn't go well?"

"That's why we've been waiting here! I believe that wolf cub won't be caught so easily.

However, with our arrangements, it is absolutely impossible for them to escape today.

In fact, since I last saw him slay a sword in Winterfell, I have been looking forward to it and want to try his swordsmanship myself!"

James answered Genos's question, and at the end, he looked eager to try.

"No wonder Lord James, you insist on guarding here personally. However, it is possible that they can break through other exits, right?"

After hearing what he said, Genos nodded thoughtfully.

"They definitely can't get through the Gate of the Gods, and that wolf cub can't be stupid enough to go in the direction of the cathedral full of archers.

So, with a probability of 1/2, my luck is never bad!"

James was quite confident in his analysis, and he answered Jaros's question with a smile.

Suddenly, a certain figure appeared in his mind, he suppressed the smile on his face, and whispered:

"If, they choose the other side...

Then, we should think about it in advance now, how to explain to Her Majesty the Queen why the wolf cub turned into pieces of meat."

"Kill!"

Genos was about to continue talking when he suddenly heard a killing cry coming from ahead, and he immediately looked forward nervously.

Listening to the shouts of killing getting closer and closer, James put away the dagger in his right hand, stood up straight, and said with a smile on his face: "It seems that I was right again!"

Seeing that he could escape the encirclement through the next street, Robb stopped dead in his tracks as soon as he ran around the corner of the street.

Due to the effect of inertia, he ran forward a few steps before he could stand still.

Looking at the formation at the street intersection, he shook his head helplessly and said to the person blocking his way: "You will definitely not let me pass, right?"
