Chapter 69: The Dark Prison

There are four floors in the Red Fort dungeon. The top floor, which is the cell on the first floor, has narrow windows and is used to hold ordinary criminals.

The second floor is a small single cell, used to hold noble prisoners. Because it is underground, torches are always burning in the second hall, and the light of the torch shines through the fence, illuminating these single cells.

The third floor is a cell with no windows and no torch lighting. They have strong wooden doors. The criminals inside are always imprisoned in darkness. Therefore, they are called "dark cells".

The most evil and dangerous criminals are imprisoned in black jails, because the jailers don't care about their lives or lives at all.

These criminals either starve to death, die of thirst, freeze to death, or are tortured to madness by the endless darkness.

Snap!

An empty cell in the dark cell was opened, and the burning torch tore open the endless darkness in the dark cell.

Shuo Shuo Shuo!

The appearance of this light caused a series of sounds of moving chains to be heard in the dark prison.

"Hiss!"

"Baby face, come in quickly. I'll make you feel so good."

Robb followed Varys as he walked in the dark cell corridor. In the cells on the left and right, two ugly-looking criminals pressed their faces into the small window of the wooden door and made noises at Robb.

"Tsk tsk, that's interesting. Someone has two sides, so someone should serve the Thousand-Faced God."

Varys had long been accustomed to the noise of these criminals and walked quickly ahead, but a sentence spoken in a cell made Robb stop.

He turned around and saw a man with red and white hair and a handsome face looking at him with a smile.

Jaqen H'ghar, a member of the Faceless Men of Braavos. He helped Arya and led her on the path of the Faceless Men.

Robb will definitely never forget such a well-known character from the original drama.

"cough!"

Varys in front saw Robb standing there and coughed loudly in a hoarse voice to remind him.

Meeting his father Eddard is the most important thing now. Robb did not talk to Jaqen. The script moved forward and continued to follow Varys.

Jaqen's eyes remained fixed on Robb's back until the light of the torch disappeared and his smiling face disappeared into the darkness again.

The innermost cell in the dark cell was opened by Varys with a key. Robb took the torch from him and was about to walk to the cell.

Varys stretched out a hand to stop Robb and said to him in a hoarse voice: "At dawn, the guards will start changing from the first floor. You still have about half an hour's time."

"You were worried that I would stay too long and couldn't help but take action. So, you chose this time.

Don’t worry, I’ll leave as soon as I finish speaking.”

"Please come in!"

Upon hearing this, Varys nodded and looked at Robb's hand, making a gesture of invitation.

Click!

After Robb entered the room, Varys closed the wooden door. Robb was not worried at all. Varys asked him to enter the urn and locked him directly in the cell.

For him who is covered in ice and has amazing arm strength, this wooden door is just a thicker board.

The innermost cell was unusually wide. The cell was dark and damp, and the bluestone walls were covered with moss.

Robb walked around two corners with a torch, and finally saw the familiar figure resting with his knees in his arms.

"Father!"

Robb shouted softly with a trembling voice.

Hearing the voice in his ear, Ed suddenly raised his head, blocking the light of the torch with the back of his hand, looking at Robb in disbelief, and asked in a hoarse voice: "Robb? How did you...you were also caught in the dark?"

In jail?"

"No, Master Varys brought me in. Father, you have suffered."

Robb shook his head, looked at Ed's current appearance, and said with some distress.

In Robb's memory, Eddard will always be the mighty, serious and stubborn father.

But now his face is pale and haggard, and his eyes are dark. It can be seen that he has been worried in the past few days and has not rested much at all.

His hands and feet were shackled. Fortunately, in this life, his right leg was not pierced by a Lannister soldier, so he suffered less pain.

"Quickly go, go out and find your sisters, take them and return to the north immediately."

As if he was sure it was not his dream, Ed immediately pointed in the direction of the cell door and said to Robb.

"I will, father. But I will also take you back to Winterfell."

"There's no way I can go back."

Hearing Robb's words, Ed shook his head and said, suddenly remembering that Robb was brought in by Varys, he continued,

"Varys asked you to persuade me to admit treason? Admit Joffrey as Robert's legal heir?"

"Yes, father. Lord Varys wants me to advise you this way."

Robb looked at Eddard with a disappointed expression on his face when he heard the answer, and he continued,

"But, I don't intend to do that.

When I learned that you had resigned as King's Hand, I was worried about changes in King's Landing, so I came disguised as a caravan.

I have made arrangements for Winterfell. As soon as the news of your imprisonment is sent back, we will take action immediately.

Now, mother should have been calling all the vassals, and after gathering tens of thousands of northern troops, they will go south directly."

"Starting a war? No, Robb. You are still a child. You do not understand the horrors of war!

Listen to me, go out and find your sisters and take them back to the north."

As soon as Ed heard what Robb said, he immediately shook his head at him and replied in a serious tone.

"Father, I am a child in your eyes. However, I am the child of Eddard Stark, the hero who overthrew the Targaryen dynasty, Warden of the North, Duke of Winterfell.

Roose Bolton, inspired by Tywin Lannister, deliberately disrupted and destroyed the order in the North and wanted to destroy the foundation of our Stark family.

A month ago I launched a war against the Boltons, captured the Dreadfort, and executed Roose Bolton."

Robb looked directly at Eddard with firm eyes and directly told what he had done during Eddard's absence.

"Kate, you wrote to me and told me that you defeated Roose Bolton. I was still worried that you would be injured.

Act decisively and don’t give the other party a chance to make a comeback. In this regard, I am not as good as you."

Eddard listened quietly to Robb's story, with a smile on his face and praised Robb directly.

After he finished speaking, his eyes wandered, as if he was recalling the past, and at the same time, he continued: "Once upon a time, Roose Bolton responded to my call and fought alongside me, but now, he has been executed by you.

Time passes so fast, and before we know it, our generation has grown old and died.

Oh, especially when that bastard Robert died on the witch and left a huge mess for me."

"Father, as far as I know, your adoptive father, Lord Arryn, was poisoned and murdered by her wife, mother's sister, Lysa Arryn, and Baelish.

His Majesty Robert's death seemed normal, but it was actually Cersei who was behind it."

Hearing Edd mention this topic, there was nothing to hide at this time, so Robb directly revealed the so-called secret.
