Chapter 51: A Small Boat in the Sea

Plop!

The three dolphins jumped up from the water at the same time, fell down at the same time, and then jumped out of the water again, repeating this process, causing countless waves and cheers.

"So - this round of performances is over, thank you everyone for watching."

Two dolphin trainers walked to the edge of the pool and said goodbye to the audience.

The three dolphins also swam to the edge of the pool, stood up in the water, and kept waving their short flippers toward the audience.

"Stand up!"

"Ah ah ah so cute!"

"I really want to touch it!"

The curtain slowly closed toward the middle, and the girl behind him was still holding up her mobile phone to take pictures. Naruse bent down and was about to leave, and Naoko immediately stood up.

"Go find the light."

"Yeah."

After the dolphin show ended, it was almost time to move around freely. The two waited for a while at the exit of the dolphin pool, and Hikaru Takigawa and Haixing walked out together.

The former, on the other hand, has a rare expression and looks thoughtful.

"What's wrong?" Naruse asked.

"Chunhai, Shangzi."

She came back to her senses and smiled at the two of them, "It's nothing. Should we go there now, or go get something to eat first? I heard from the girls in Class B that there are ramen in the snack corner downstairs, and there are fresh scallops here."
"I'm not hungry yet." Naruse said, and Naoko shook her head.

"OK~ Let's talk about it later."

"By the way, Morimi..."

"I invited Kazuyo this morning, but she said she was not in the mood."

After going downstairs and saying hello to the teacher, the four of them left the aquarium with Nakahara Snow’s instructions.

"Don't run too far, remember to come back here before 1 p.m. to gather!"

The next destination for the four of them is on the beach a few hundred meters away, separated by a railway and a national highway, so they need to take a detour from the intersection.

Hikaru Takigawa led the way, and Haixing was about to follow, but found that Naruse had the same idea.

"..."

The two looked at each other, and she quickly looked away.

Naruse ignored her and took a few steps forward, "Don't you need to make a reservation in advance for the yacht cruise?"

"There are more people here on weekends, so we don't need it today." Hikaru Takigawa said, "It's not a holiday after all, and the beach is quite empty."

She smiled and added: "And it doesn't matter if there is no room on the yacht. There are many things to do on the beach over there, such as kayaking, banana boats, and single-person paddleboards. Do you want to try it?

"Forget it, you have to change clothes to play that kind of water sports, we don't have much time today."

"Ah, that's right."

Ding ding ding ding——

Before reaching the railway crossing, the rapid sound of electric bells came over. The red light flashed and several people stopped in front of the railing.

Following the railway track, Naruse turned to look in the direction of the train. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see the gazes of the two girls behind him.

Ding ding ding ding——

Amidst the increasingly rapid ringtones, the tram roared past, bringing with it a gust of wind.

Cross the railway, then go around the intersection of the national highway, and come to the beach. In front of you is the northernmost bay of Honshu.

"The place to buy tickets seems to be in the beach management building over there." Hikaru Takigawa said.

"Over there, I'll go with you."

When he came to the building and found the window corresponding to the yacht cruise, Naruse asked. The next yacht was just over ten minutes later, and just like Takigawa Hikaru said, there were still a lot of seats left.

"Four tickets."

"Okay."

Naruse paid the money, got the ferry ticket, and handed it to Takigawa Hikaru.

"The ferry tickets are so expensive."

"It's said to be a double-decker luxury yacht."

She changed hands and gave him the money for her boat ticket.

"There's still a little time before the boat sails. There's ice cream for sale over there. Would you like some, Harunhai?"

"Okay."

Hikaru Takigawa went to buy ice cream, and Naruse came outside and handed the remaining two tickets to Naoko, who then handed them to Haixing.

"Where's the light?"

"She went to buy ice cream."

Shangzi glanced inside a few times, "Can you take it...I'll go help."

"Ah." Haixing had already gone in before she could say anything.

Naruse turned a blind eye and squinted at the bay in the sun.

Not far away, Yunoshima floats on the sea. The island is densely forested and dark green. The yacht they will take later will circle there three times before returning.

Haixing stood aside, holding the ticket and looking at him from the corner of his eyes.

Before long, Naoko and Hikaru Takigawa came out with ice cream.

"Let's go over after eating."

"It's okay. I asked before. The ice cream bought here can be taken on the yacht."

Arriving at the pier, the double-decker yacht had already started checking in for tickets. Naruse followed Hikari Takigawa to board the ship, and she walked straight to the second deck without stopping.

As the sea breeze blew in her face, she pushed her short hair behind her ears, opened her arms, and smiled.

"It's really good..."

Naruse nodded and took a bite of the ice cream.

The blue-white sails rustled in the wind, and a few minutes later, the launched yacht sailed out of the pier and headed towards Yunoshima.

The sea breeze is hunting, and the waves are sparkling. The yacht moves forward slowly, pushing away ripples on the blue-green sea.

The sea and sky are vast, and the land is getting further and further away.

After finishing the ice cream, Naruse turned around and glanced. Naoko was still beside him, while Haixing and Hikaru Takigawa had already circled to the stern of the boat and were looking at the coast.

A strand of hair fluttered in the wind without restraint, causing chaos on Shangzi's face.

Seeing her repeatedly raising her hand to comb her hair, Naruse took half a step to block the sea breeze for her.

"Go to the cabin."

"I want to go in after I finish eating." There was still half of the ice cream in her hand.

"Yeah."

Shangzi licked his lower lip and looked at him, "But I can't eat anymore..."

Leaning on the railing, Naruse turned his head and tilted towards the sea.

Shangzi was stunned and immediately shook his head: "No. It can't be wasted."

"Then you can only eat it slowly."

"But it's too much... Harumi, please help me share some of it."

He glanced at her and then looked at the ice cream in her hand.

"Just a little."

"Hmm."

He leaned forward, lowered his head to find the angle, and then took a bite.

Looking at the white spot at the corner of his mouth, Shangzi smiled.

"I got it."

Naruse licked it and said, "It's gone."

"Nope."

After Naoko finished eating the rest, the two of them walked around to the stern of the boat. Hikari Takigawa called to Naruse: "Harumi, look -"

Naruse looked over and saw a platform extending on the coast to the north of the pier, with vague figures on it.

"Is that a fishing park?"

"Well, it's the northernmost fishing park on Honshu Island."

Naruse lay down on the railing next to her, "Is it the 'Northernmost Honshu' again? This gimmick is really worthless here."

"Haha. I was at the aquarium just now, and a few friends asked me to come and have a look."

"Do you want to go?"

"Well, if you have enough time, let's go and take a look."

Naruse responded and turned around. Naoko and Haixing were walking around in the cabin of the yacht, then sat on the sofa and experienced it for a while. Judging from each other's expressions, they seemed to be quite satisfied.

He turned his head and looked, his eyes staying on the faces of the two of them for a moment respectively. When he turned back, he found that Hikaru Takigawa beside him was looking at the sea in a daze.

"Dolphin..."

Naruse lowered his head and glanced a few times, seeing blue waves and white waves, that’s all.

"There are no wild dolphins this season."

"Hmm?" She came to her senses and lowered her head to search, "Are there any dolphins?"

"..." Naruse looked at her.

"Huh?"

"Guang just said..."

"Oh, did I say it?"

Takigawa Hikari smiled, stretched out his arms, and stretched himself on the railing.

After her body relaxed, she said: "I remembered what happened just now."

"During the dolphin show?" Naruse recalled that she seemed to be thinking about something when she came out.

"How does Harumi know... That's right, a girl sitting behind me said that although the dolphin show is wonderful, it actually restricts the freedom of the dolphins. The ocean is their destination."

The yacht pushed away the waves, and the waves were shining and dazzling. Takigawa Hikaru looked down, and confusion gradually appeared in his eyes.

"But the sea is really big..."

Naruse looked at her without speaking.

"After leaving the aquarium and gaining freedom, where should I go next?"

"The ocean is vast, so of course you can go wherever you want," Naruse said. "Dolphins have very high IQs."

Takigawa Hikaru slowly frowned.

"But, do they understand what they should do?"

"Instinct will drive them."

"Is it instinctive..."

She pursed her lower lip and looked at him again: "What is human instinct?"

Naruse was stunned, "Live."

"Just survive?"

"When the conditions for survival are met, you will naturally pursue more. According to Maslow's theory, in addition to survival, there are needs such as emotion, respect and self-realization."

"Who is Maslow?"

"A psychologist."

Takigawa Hikari was silent for a few seconds.

"Is what he said still instinct? The so-called instinct should be something that everyone is born with, right?"

Naruse looked at her, "Light..."

"——Starfish?"

Takigawa Hikaru followed his voice towards the cabin, and Naruse also turned his head.

In the cabin, Starfish was curled up on the sofa, looking painful.
