794 Machine gun massacre of cavalry

The fleeing bicycle troops were just a few hundred meters away, and Miki could even see them through the telescope.

The old devil ordered his cavalry squadron to pursue them quickly.

He never dreamed that these Eighth Route Army soldiers could be so cunning.

During such a tense evacuation process, an ambush was actually set up midway.

"Hit——"

Hundreds of Japanese war horses rushed in from the gap in the mountain road.

Seeing that nearly half of the main force of the Japanese cavalry had completely entered the ambush circle, the first battalion commander Sun Zhenguo issued the combat order without hesitation.

Da da da——

Bang bang bang——

Irregular and messy rifle shots rang out from the slopes on both sides of the mountain road, mixed with the click-clack of light machine guns that quickly became the main theme of the battlefield.

The machine gun firepower deployed by Sun Zhenguo in advance was aimed at the Japanese cavalry troops.

In this second ambush operation of Dafengzhuang, the New Regiment only sent this one straight-line station team.

With Ding Wei's character, he is very concerned about face.

How could you not enhance the firepower configuration of your precious direct-vehicle troops?

A squad of Little Devils has almost three light machine guns. If divided equally, each squad will have one machine gun.

But in Ding Wei's view: "This is far from enough."

Perhaps the reason why the Eighth Route Army generals were often passively beaten in the face of the superior firepower of the Japanese army, and they felt so helpless, was that most of them had a phobia of lack of firepower.

So this time the new regiment sent a direct driving team.

Ding Wei waved his hand heroically, and one squad was equipped with two light machine guns.

The first and second platoons left now can be regarded as reinforced platoons. There are four squads in total, that is, eight light machine guns.

The machine guns of these two platoons were concentrated on both sides of the slope at the entrance of the mountain pass, eight on each side, for a total of 16 light machine guns. They directly blocked the entire mountain pass with side firepower.

The bullets fired like crazy intertwined into dense firepower nets in mid-air, pouring towards the Japanese cavalry who could not stop their horses and continued to run forward.

What is this like?

It's like being in a pass full of machine gun fire. The Japanese cavalry are like moths flying into the flames, rushing towards the muzzle of the gun.

The sudden burst of firepower caught the Japanese cavalry galloping off guard.

Under intensive firepower, casualties spread rapidly.

Among the fast-running figures, the Japanese fell off their horses one by one. Only the somewhat confused horses rushed for a distance. After they could no longer feel the whipping of their own reins, they gradually stopped.

The little devil's war horses are specially trained, and the sound of gunfire on the battlefield can easily frighten the horses.

For these war horses, they are already accustomed to it.

Without the Japs on their backs, the war horses were happy and relaxed. After getting away from the Japs, they were swinging leisurely not far from the mountain road.

The ambush battle is still going on, and the Japanese cavalry No. 100 who rushed out first has more than half of its casualties in the blink of an eye.

The speed of the cavalry is very fast

It's easy to rush forward, but difficult to turn around, only under the blockade of dense machine gun fire that stretches the defense line.

There is simply no kid who can rush through the mountain road with the firepower pouring from both sides.

"Retreat, retreat——"

Miki, the old Japanese who was following behind, saw his cavalry being harvested like leeks, and with his eyes cracked, he quickly issued an order.

Da da da——

Intense firepower poured towards the Japanese cavalry who tightened their reins and ran back.

A dozen more little devils fell from their horses.

"Fire!"

In order to strike first, Sun Zhenguo did not give the little devil any time to breathe. In addition to a considerable number of light machine guns, the soldiers of the straight-line team were also equipped with these 50 small artillery pieces.

These small-caliber artillery pieces themselves do not weigh much and are relatively easy to carry.

The captured Japanese grenades were modified, or brackets were added, or the barrels were lengthened and thickened, and the current 50 cannon was born.

Use the most economical resources to create a weapon that can suppress the Japanese grenade.

Boom——

During the series of shellings, the Japanese cavalry who had fled more than 200 meters away, and many of those who were bombed were thrown off their backs.

The original effective range of the Japanese Type 89 grenade was five to six hundred meters.

The 50 small artillery modified by the Eighth Route Army, with the addition of propellant packs, has a greater propulsive force and can even have a farther range than the Japanese Type 89 grenade.

Sun Zhenguo wanted to push the Japanese cavalry back out of the range of the Japanese grenade.

To prevent the Japs from shelling the ambush area after they exit.

After the Japanese cavalry retreated in embarrassment, without Sun Zhenguo's call, the soldiers quickly rushed down the slope, quickly cleaned the battlefield on the spot, and seized equipment and ammunition, as well as the bewildered horses.

Soon the battlefield was cleaned up, and a platoon leader ran up to Sun Zhenguo and grinned, his eyes almost disappearing from the smile: "Hey, battalion commander, a total of fifty-six war horses have been captured."

The war situation was urgent, and Sun Zhenguo could not be happy and issued an order:

"The demolition team quickly laid some mines on the retreating mountain road.

The other personnel were divided into two groups, mounted machine guns, small artillery, and some heavier equipment on horses, and retreated in advance. The remaining personnel quickly followed and moved along the mountain road.

Prepare to continue the ambush at the second ambush point."

"Yes!"

..."Reporting to the commander, all casualties have been counted.

Eighty-seven soldiers were killed and 75 horses were lost."

All the way out of the mountain road where they were ambushed, the Japanese soldiers counted the casualties and reported to the old Japanese Mikihui.

"Baga——, these damn bastards!"

Miki couldn't help but curse, saying that the so-called imperial officer's self-cultivation was completely lost.

The Japanese adjutant on the side remained silent, but he couldn't help but mutter in his heart: If he followed the tank, there would never be such casualties.

"Sir, what should we do next?"

Miki, who had been dazed for a long time, looked at the cavalry unit that was crippled by nearly half in an ambush, and then looked at the mountain road where there was no movement anymore, but you never know where there is an ambush, and said helplessly:

"These damn Tubal roads are really cunning. There will probably be ambushes along the way. It's better to wait for the chariot team to arrive and then use tanks to cover the advance!"

"Hi!"

The Japanese who answered was also relieved. He was afraid that the officer would get hot-headed and let the cavalry continue the pursuit without any scruples.

Almost ten minutes passed.

Three tanks and four armored vehicles from the Japanese chariot team arrived amidst the roar.

As the tanks advanced, the Japanese cavalry dared to return to the mountain road where they were previously ambushed.

At this time, at a glance, there were only the corpses of Japanese soldiers and many killed horses.

As for the eight groups ambushed on both sides, as well as the living horses, they have long since disappeared.

Obviously, the ambushed Eighth Route Army withdrew and took the captured war horses with them.

The evacuation route of this group of eight soldiers can be determined from the direction in which the horseshoe prints extend.

"Baga, we must catch up with this group of Tubal and destroy them all, leaving no one behind!"

Miki, whose face was livid with anger, shouted orders.

It's just that this old devil has learned to be cautious this time. On the way forward, he no longer dares to let the cavalry get too far away from the tanks and armored vehicles and go deep alone.

Boom——

There was another explosion, and a war horse triggered some mines that Sun Zhenguo and his party had laid when they left.

After the explosion, the horse's legs were blown off and the war horse neighed.

The little devil fell off the horse and was seriously injured.

The adjutant quickly ordered the engineers to clear mines.

Nakamura, the leader of the chariot team, believed that this was a waste of time and would affect the pursuit of the Eighth Route Army.

And based on his observation, the power of these mines is not very amazing.

It looks like they are just some less powerful landmines made by Tubal Road.

He then ordered a Type 89 tank to push forward directly to detect the buried mines.

The result...

Boom——

As we continued to move forward, the first few mines that were triggered were okay, and even the tracks of the Japanese tanks exploded.

Not to mention the thick armor of the tank.

After walking another hundred or ten meters, there was a loud noise.

The ground seemed to be shaking in the explosion. The entire right side of the Japanese tank seemed to have been lifted up, and the track was broken on the spot.

After a while, the hatch of the tank opened, and a little devil with blood on his face came out of it and shouted hurriedly:

"Sir, the driver was seriously injured and cannot continue to drive the tank!"

Nakamura: "..."

Miki: "..."

The two of them fell into the Eighth Route Army's trick once again.

The power of the subsequent land mine explosion was completely different from the power of the previous self-made land mines produced by Eighth Route Army.

Nakamura was so deceived that he didn't even bother to laugh at Miki, who had been ambushed earlier.

The two old devils honestly arranged for the soldiers to repair the tanks.

He also made up his mind to let the engineers go first in the subsequent advancement, making sure that they would not encounter the mine traps from the Eighth Route Army...
