Chapter 109 The Fear of Dementors

The Patronus Charm is indeed the best magic to deal with Dementors.

Because it can materialize positive emotions such as hope and happiness into a physical animal, causing harm to dementors.

Under the guidance of Sirius, the whole class recited the Patronus Charm.

"Call the gods to protect you!"

"Remember, just like Boggarts, dealing with Dementors also requires a smile from the heart." Sirius paced in the classroom and said loudly:

"So, when casting the Patronus Charm, you should do your best to recall your happiest memories."

Luofu squinted his eyes and slowly recalled that it had been many years since he came to the magical world. Many memories had long been forgotten, but there was one scene that he still clearly remembered...

That is learning that you can go to Hogwarts to learn magic!

"Call the gods to protect you!"

Rowe shouted along with the crowd, and the tip of his wand spurted out a ball of gas. Although it was shapeless, it shone with silver light.

"Very good!" Sirius looked at the little wizards and praised:

"Many students already have white mist on their wands. Next, I will release the dementors, and you can feel the difference again."

Sirius opened the box, and a Dementor slowly floated out, its hooded face turned toward the student, its glowing, scabbed, rotting hands clutching its cloak.

Although there was a blazing fire in the fireplace, the temperature of the entire room still dropped rapidly, and everyone could feel a chill coming from the dementors, like the icy breath of the deep underground.

The Dementor floated toward the window, seeming to want to escape from the room, but the doors and windows were completely sealed, and it couldn't get out at all.

Sirius crossed his arms and asked with a smile: "Which one of you will come first?"

MacMillan walked towards the Dementor excitedly. His wand erupted smoke immediately, which made him full of confidence.

But as he got closer to the dementors, the cold air seeped into McMillan's bones. Before long, every muscle from his chin to his toes was tense.

McMillan was panting and having difficulty breathing. He hurriedly wanted to shout out a spell, but his tongue didn't obey him at all.

The Dementor had no reason not to eat the snacks delivered to his door. He rushed towards MacMillan, but was violently knocked away by a large silver dog.

Sirius put away his wand, took out the chocolate from his pocket and handed it to MacMillan, then looked at the students and said with a smile:

"It's one thing to practice the Patronus Charm by yourself, but it's another thing to practice it next to dark creatures like dementors.

I used to have a friend who was the fastest wizard among us to use a complete Patronus, but when faced with Dementors, he couldn't summon it every time.

If you want to summon a patron saint, happy memories are essential, but you also need to rely on this..."

Sirius pointed to his heart and said: "The courage to face fear!"

He looked at the students and asked loudly again: "Who else dares to try?"

"Professor Black..."

Sirius turned around in surprise and saw the always timid Neville walking out of the crowd. He wiped his sweaty palms on his clothes and whispered:

"I...I want to give it a try."

"Of course, Neville." Sirius smiled: "You are very brave, come on, kid!"

Neville swallowed his saliva and as he trotted forward, his left foot caught his right foot and he almost fell to the ground.

The students couldn't help laughing.

With his face flushed, Neville walked not far from the dementors. He was shaking uneasily and his whole body was tightly wrapped in a thick robe.

Sirius whispered: "Breathe, Neville, breathe out the fear, chase away the shadows... call upon the gods to protect you!"

The tall figure of the Dementor enveloped Neville, and for a moment everyone could only hear his heavy breathing.

But Neville did not retreat this time. He raised his wand and kept shouting: "Call God for Guard...Call God for Guard...Call God for Guard!"

Sirius's big silver dog appeared again, and his head hit the Dementor's abdomen. Its center of gravity was unstable and it fell hard to the ground.

Neville's skin was clammy, stained with sweat, cold and sticky, and every breath was accompanied by a slight gasp.

Neville, like MacMillan, failed to spray out the white mist, but when facing the dementors, he firmly shouted the spell without retreating...

The Hufflepuff students all applauded Neville, and Hannah screamed from the crowd: "Well done, Neville!"

Neville was a little embarrassed, a simple smile appeared on his face, and he quickly trotted back to the crowd.

"Who else wants to try?" Sirius asked loudly again. His eyes scanned the crowd several times, and many students lowered their heads.

Just as Luo Fu was about to step forward, Shirley beside him had already taken a step forward.

Everyone focused their attention on the beautiful girl with a slender ponytail. She was slim and graceful, with a cold temperament. Even if she was just standing quietly, she was extremely eye-catching.

Shirley raised her wand and said softly: "Call the gods to protect you!"

She succeeded, and the wand sprayed out a stream of silver gas, but as the dementors approached, the wand was like a lamp with insufficient power. It only flickered a few times and the silver mist disappeared.

Shirley felt a chill piercing her whole body. She pursed her lips and glanced at Luo Fu not far away from the corner of her eyes.

Luofu stepped forward and walked out of the crowd, ready to save her at any time. As if sensing his gaze, the young man grinned at her.

Shirley, who was still uneasy at first, suddenly felt at peace. She had never told him, but as long as he could be seen within her sight, she felt at ease.

Happy memories emerged bit by bit, like a clear spring flowing into her heart. The ponytail girl's eyes became determined. She raised her wand with both hands and shouted:

"Bodyguard!"

A silver shadow shaped like a lake appeared, like a barrier, blocking the approach of the dementors. Although it could not drive away the dementors, it sent a trace of warmth towards her.

"It's really outstanding!" Sirius clapped his hands and said with satisfaction: "Very few people can face Dementors for the first time and create a Patronus of the Lake.

Ten points to Ravenclaw!"

Shirley turned back to the crowd. Rove gave a thumbs up and said with a smile: "Awesome!"

Shirley patted her chest gently and took a deep breath. She smiled at Luo Fu and said sweetly: "Actually, I just took a trick."

Luofu's face was full of doubts, but Shirley didn't explain. She just turned her head and raised the corners of her mouth, looking very happy.

Soon, Rolf took the wand and walked towards the dementor.

Just as he was about to raise his wand, the dementor seemed to smell something scary. It retreated and got back into the box.

"..."

Everyone was speechless. What on earth did you do to it?

Rolf also looked innocent and had a conscience. He just let the Dementor live with the Thunderbird and gave it a large amount of electric shock therapy every day...

Other than that, there's really nothing done!

Trust me!

Rolf never abuses "small animals"!!
