Chapter 27 The true owner of the Horcrux

Standing at the dilapidated entrance of Nurmengard, Dumble spoke slowly about his old past with Grindelwald in a weathered voice.

"Two guys with similar interests became close friends after meeting each other. They were inseparable all day long... closer than brothers."

"We have planned to leave Godric's Hollow together and embark on a journey to find the Deathly Hallows."

"But my brother disagreed. He said we had a sick and poor sister who needed to be taken care of. He begged me to stay. We had a big quarrel and refused to give in."

Dumbledore sighed and said with complicated eyes:

"Aberforth foolishly drew his wand, and even more foolishly, I drew my wand too."

"Together with Grindelwald, the three of us were fighting together, and no one noticed Ariana coming downstairs."

Dumbledore lowered his eyelids and said with deep emotion and sorrow:

"I'm not sure who cast the spell, but it doesn't matter anymore. Ariana was still standing there one second, and fell to the ground the next...killed."

Luofu looked at the slightly stooped old figure and sighed softly.

Although he had known the inside story for a long time, he was still filled with emotion when he heard the old man slowly recounting this painful past.

that summer,

Dumbledore was eighteen years old and Grindelwald was sixteen. The two most talented young men in the wizarding world met at their most prosperous years. They should have produced the most brilliant fruits, but they were derailed by a tragedy that no one wanted to see.

It was ruined by accident.

If we meet sooner or later, maybe everything will be different.

It can only be said that they did meet each other in their best years, but not at the most appropriate age for each other.

The two quickly walked into the castle, and Rolf looked around:

The hall is huge and wide, and many places are almost in decay. The walls and rows of wooden beams are covered with lichen and purple moss.

They continued to go up the stairs, and then they appeared many halls, rooms, arches and grooved columns, and gray moss gathered on these buildings to form huge moss mounds.

The tower windows were still entangled with black vines, which crawled out of the door, climbed up the archway, and climbed up the high stone wall.

The environment here is not even as good as Azkaban and Uxta Prison!

It was hard for Rove to imagine that there had once been a gathering of witch cultists who made the magical world fearful. It was even harder to imagine that someone could survive here for more than half a century, and that person was still...

Grindelwald!

They reached the top floor of the tower and continued walking forward. Their footsteps echoed strangely and unevenly in the long corridor.

There are doors in the corridor, some closed, many open a crack. All the rooms are abandoned.

Finally, Dumbledore stopped at the door of the corner room. That door had a house number, but it had faded and was almost difficult to read.

Dumbledore stood at the door, paused for a moment, and then slowly pushed the door open.

An old man wearing a thin gray robe stood alone by the window. He was as thin as a skeleton, his cheeks shrank inward, and his eye sockets were sunken inward.

"Albus, long time no see." The old man's old lips curled up slightly, revealing a mouth with missing teeth.

"I thought you would never come again."

When Grindelwald saw Dumbledore, he smiled, and every wrinkle and crevice on his withered and weathered face radiated a strange light.

Dumbledore deliberately avoided his eyes, but lowered his head and whispered to Rove: "He is Gellert Grindelwald."

Rolf stared at Grindelwald.

The first Dark Lord was an extremely handsome man when he was young, but now he is just a declining old man. Only his deep blue eyes can still vaguely see his former grace.

"Hello, my name is Rolf Scamander."

Grindelwald looked at the young man with interest, his wrinkled face and eyes shining like polished sapphires.

"Oh, you are Newt's grandson? I have heard Albus talk about you many times. Has he ever told you about me before?"

Rolf felt a little confused for a moment and glanced at Dumbledore quietly from the corner of his eye.

In fact, the principal had never mentioned Grindelwald to him before, otherwise he would not have known that the basilisk was sent here.

The young man had no choice but to blink and avoid talking: "My grandfather has told you many times. He said that you have been friends for decades."

"Newt? I don't have half a galleons of friendship with your grandfather." Grindelwald said rudely: "He even stole something as precious as mine back then."

Rolf smiled, Grindelwald should be talking about the blood alliance pendant that Xiu Xiu stole.

It was indeed Grindelwald and Dumbledore's... love token.

Dumbledore interrupted the conversation between the two and asked: "Where is the basilisk?"

"I put it into hibernation," Grindelwald said. "You know, I don't have food to feed it."

"So how's your investigation going?"

"I followed the soul in the basilisk's body and checked his memories, and most of them were intertwined with the basilisk. It was very confusing," Grindelwald said.

"I had to use a lot of highly skilled Legilimency to draw it out, and finally extracted the memory of making the Horcrux... Do you want to see it?"

Dumbledore nodded.

Grindelwald raised his arm, and a skull pipe floated over from the corner.

The Skull Pouch is a precious alchemical item similar to a Pensieve.

The function of the pensieve is to put memories in the basin so that others can go in and watch.

The Skeleton Smoking Pouch uses magic smoke to inhale and exhale, and project the brain's images in the form of a short video.

Grindelwald picked up the pipe, inhaled deeply through the pipe, and then began to exhale.

A giant painting with bright colors seemed to spread out from between his lips and extend to the stone ceiling.

What comes into view is a huge circular pit that goes from outside to inside, from white to gray, from gray to black, and from black to red.

There are two wizards at the bottom of the pit.

Luofu recognized the wizard lying on the ground at a glance, and he murmured:

"Professor Rowena Ravenclaw."

Beside Ravenclaw stood a man and a coiled basilisk.

The man waved his wand, pointed it at himself, and said loudly:

"The broken soul appears, Anda Jones!"

As the spell ended, he let out a roar of pain, and dark shadows gathered on the ground, slowly and silently squirming under the moonlight.

Finally, the shadow split into another shadow, which stood up, flew towards the basilisk, and got into its body.

The basilisk hissed, but in the end a piece of soul was sealed within its body.

Luofu watched this scene quietly, he understood it completely.

After Slytherin killed Ravenclaw, he used the Basilisk to create a...horcrux.
