Chapter 927 0922 [Martial Arts Performance]

The day before the field hunting started, Ju Ming moved into Dongxi Garden.

During this period, the results of exchanges between Eastern and Western scholars were the first to be compiled into information on political systems, kings and virtuous ministers.

Although Ju Ming didn't like it very much, he still read it as interesting information.

As he read, Ju Ming was surprised to find that Mulek's prime minister grandfather was really awesome.

During his tenure, he created systems, determined the calendar, reformed the tax system, streamlined the army and streamlined administration, built inns, dug canals, promoted education, and encouraged industry and commerce...

Universities were also established in all major cities, not only teaching general knowledge and doctrine, but also offering subjects such as philosophy, history, astronomy, medicine, and literature.

These Seljuk universities, like the official schools of the Ming Dynasty, were funded by the imperial court and had a large amount of real estate as subsidies.

In addition to free room and board, students can even receive scholarships!

However, with the assassination of the prime minister and the separatist turmoil of Seljuk, many of these schools closed down for a time, and several have been restored in the past twenty years.

The most famous one at present is called the University of Nizemia.

The school is located outside Baghdad and has a large brick building complex. It was supported by funds from the Caliphate during the war.

Now the Seljuk Sultan is rushing to provide funds, not only to win over scholars and students in the university, but also to rely on this university to continuously train officials.

Several consecutive prime ministers all graduated from this university.

Other Shahs, Governors, etc. often hired administrative officers from this university.

Purely in terms of the number of schools and students, Seljuk has basically met the conditions for the imperial examination and can hold the kind of imperial examination that was used in the Sui and Tang Dynasties.

After reading the story of this legendary prime minister, Ju Ming picked up another copy of the Rubaiyat.

This book is extremely famous, especially during the Republic of China, and was translated into multiple versions by Guo Lao, Hu Shi, Wen Yiduo, Xu Zhimo, Zhu Xiang and others.

It was born at Nizemiya University in Baghdad, and the author died just a few years ago.

The Ming Dynasty translation is very interesting. The translation of "Rubaiyat" is called "Queju of Tianfang".

The last Seljuk envoy Abu had already started translation with the imperial officials of the Ming Dynasty.

He did not finish the translation when he returned to China, but he translated the main ideas of all the poems into vernacular and wrote them out.

But the Ming Dynasty's Hanlin officials were so idle that they actually translated all Persian quatrains into quatrains based on these vernacular!

Correspondingly, the quatrain poems brought back from China were translated into four-line poems by Seljuk poets.

Rubai is a four-line poem.

Even the rhyme rules for the last word of each line are the same as Chinese quatrain poetry.

The author of the Rubaiyat, who died just a few years ago, had more than 20 works brought back to Luoyang.

Two of them are extremely important.

One is the Seljuk calendar revised by this person.

A book called "Algebra" can already solve the quadratic equation concisely, but the author doubts that the conventional solution to the cubic equation does not exist.

This author is not only a poet, astronomer and mathematician, but also a medical scientist and a philosopher.

Moreover, he came from a humble background, his father was an Arab craftsman who made tents.

Being able to become a well-known scholar from such a background shows that the Seljuks were really successful in establishing the imperial examination.

"Dong dong dong dong!"

The clock sounded, and Zhu Ming put down his books and turned on the lamp to sleep.

The automatic chime clock has been invented, but its size is a bit large and needs to be reduced and improved before it can be put into the market.

However, bell towers in major cities have begun to be adopted one after another.

When he woke up in the morning, Ju Ming put on the Heavenly King's Armor and rode to the Tiansijian Racecourse in the south.

A temporary general platform was built there, and Zhu Ming sat on the platform wearing armor, with guards in heavy armor protecting him on his left and right.

First, the civil and military officials of fifth rank and above lined up to bow to the emperor.

"Call the envoys from all countries!"

The chief, deputy envoys and escort officers from more than thirty countries, all wearing their own armor, came forward one after another.

If you don't bring it, Ming Dynasty will issue standard armor.

More than 200 people lined up in two rows and saluted chaotically towards Ju Ming.

What etiquette depends on the customs of each country.

Ju Ming is not Zhu Di, and the envoys from all nations must kneel down.

At that time, Timur's envoy refused to kneel, and Zhu Di could only laugh it off. Could it be possible that he could chop the envoy down? That envoy was Tamerlane's prime minister.

At this moment, some people kneel down and worship, some people kneel down on one knee, some people bow with their arms crossed, and there are many subdivisions.

For example, when kneeling down and worshiping, some messengers just kowtow, some messengers put their hands together, and some messengers suddenly throw themselves to the ground.

The people who cross their chests and bow are also different. Some cross their arms and cross their chests, and some place one hand diagonally in front of their chests.

Huan Guo, the Minister of Rites, saw it and felt very unhappy.

He felt that he could train in advance and unify the movements of the envoys, so that they could reflect the majesty of all nations coming to court.

Several painters stood around the stage, having already captured the scene of worshiping. They took out their brushes and quickly sketched out the basic shape. The rest can be taken home and polished slowly.

It is estimated that there will be several copies of "The Picture of the Coming of All Nations".

When the envoys retreated to both sides and stood up, Zhang Guangdao came running on horseback: "The six armies are ready, please review by the emperor!"

"Qiang!"

Ju Ming stood up and drew his sword: "Military parade."

Troops came one after another through the farmland. Although the wheat had been harvested, other crops were still growing on the ground.

Farmland that has been trampled down needs to be exempted from autumn grain and compensated for young crops.

This is what the Northern Song Dynasty did. Regardless of whether it could be distributed to the peasants or not, the imperial military parade had this allocation anyway.

The Central Army in Luoyang and Kaifeng has withdrawn from the field army sequence and been separately organized into the two capital forbidden armies.

The troop numbers are: Shence, Shenwu, Shenxiao, Shenji, Longxiang, Huyi, Yingyang, and Leopard Tao.

There is also a palace guard: Yu Lin.

If you include the established civilian and support personnel, the total number of these nine troops is close to 100,000.

Not all of them are stationed in the two capitals, but also occupy various traffic arteries.

The garrison locations around Luoyang include: Yanxi Town, Liuquan Town, Yique Town, Baibo Town, and Fengshi Town.

The garrison locations around Kaifeng are: Chenqiao Town, Guoqiao Town, Banqiao Town, Chicang Town, and Luguan Town.

??????55.??????

The military camps are some distance away from the towns, and the daily consumption from the soldiers has made these small towns more prosperous.

The conscription and retirement system has also been reformed and divided into two modes: inner town and outer town.

Nei Zhen is a state capital that does not fight much. Each county has a certain quota for recruitment.

Children from farm families could sign up voluntarily. If a certain county could not raise the number of soldiers, it would be forced to recruit more than two dozen families to make up the amount.

New recruits from prefectures and counties are sent to the capital city for training. Based on their training results, they are assigned by the commander-in-chief and the capital commander, and sent to various units across the province to formally enlist. With the existing transportation conditions, they can only be deployed within the province.

Soldiers in the inner town army have a basic service period of five years.

If you are unable to be promoted after the age limit, you must be forced to retire.

This system has led to a considerable increase in military expenditures.

The outer towns are border areas.

Depending on the local population, the basic service time ranges from eight to fifteen years, and the recruitment of ethnic minorities is allowed.

If there is an emergency and the number of border troops is insufficient, the inner town troops will be quickly dispatched to supplement it.

Moreover, the common people in border areas must all be organized into Baojia, and militia training must also be carried out in peacetime. When there is no time to mobilize troops from inner towns, local Baojia militiamen are directly recruited into the army.

As for the 100,000 Central Army troops in Beijing and Beijing, the troops are replenished from all provinces across the country, and the basic service period is still five years!

This is because they are afraid of repeating the mistakes of the Northern Song Dynasty. All the Imperial Guards were locals from the capital city. The result was nepotism. Most of the officers were unlearned and unskilled sons of nobles. The soldiers stayed around until they were fifty or sixty years old and did not retire, and they covered each other up.

The military pay was withheld at every level.

In the Central Army of the Ming Dynasty, if an officer rose to a certain level, he would be transferred to the local army for training.

As for the mid-level officers of the border army, those with outstanding performance will be transferred to the central army, and after a few years of gilding, they will be transferred back to the original army.

Again, military spending has skyrocketed!

If the finances are insufficient after a hundred years, future monarchs and ministers will definitely abolish the existing system.

But as long as it is not abolished, the Ming army can maintain its vitality.

And the veterans who have retired from the army are all potential sources of high-quality soldiers.

With a war mobilization order, as long as the logistics can keep up, hundreds of thousands of troops can be mobilized in minutes and go directly to the battlefield without training.

"Bang bang bang!"

1,500 Yulin troops came in uniform steps, most of them were heavy armored infantry, and a few were heavy armored cavalry.

Gu San stepped forward and saluted: "The Yulin Army is here, please review by Your Majesty."

Ju Ming pointed his sword sideways, and the Yulin army walked past in formation and stood neatly in one place on the school grounds.

Of course, it is impossible to recruit all of the 100,000 imperial troops.

Only 30,000 people were used today.

The mere appearance of the Yulin Army has already shocked those small countries.

Especially in the small countries of Nanyang, South Asia, and Southeast Asia, the weather in many places is very hot, and the armor is relatively crude. Being wrapped in armor will make you extremely hot.

The armors of the Yulin Army in front of them frightened them.

The infantrymen were all covered in heavy armor, with only their eyes and mouths exposed. They also carried spears, bones, bows and arrows, both near and far weapons, as well as armor-breaking blunt weapons.

The cavalry is all heavily armored, and the presence of only 200 cavalry is full of intimidation. Such a small number of heavy cavalry, coupled with some ordinary troops, is enough to wipe out the small country.

Seljuk Prime Minister Mulek could still remain calm at this time.

Because the Seljuks also had heavy cavalry, which were the guards directly under the Sultan, equipped with spears, swords, hammers and crossbows.

Soon, the firearms arrived!

Shence, Shenwu, Shenxiao, Shenji, Longxiang, Huyi, Yingyang, Leopard Tao, these eight forbidden armies are all composite military units.

Not all of the Shenji Army are firearms soldiers, nor are all of the Leopard Tao Army are archers.

Chariots, artillerymen, musketeers, pikemen, crossbowmen, grenadiers, valiant cavalry, light cavalry... Each unit is equipped with these arms.

They can each armies fight alone, or they can all armies fight together.

In special circumstances, troops can be mobilized and combined together. For example, if you go to Mobei, the valiant cavalry and light cavalry can be drawn out, and the cavalry from each army can form a pure cavalry team to attack.

Compared with the decisive battle with the Jin Kingdom, the types of troops have changed.

The sword and shield bearers were directly cancelled, and the guns, artillery and cavalry were increased.

That is to say, the defense power is slightly reduced, and the long-range firepower and high-mobility units are enhanced.

As the prime minister, Mulek knew how to fight, and he was a Seljuk veteran. In history, he was appointed deputy commander of the army after the decisive battle with Yelu Dashi.

At first, Mullek didn't understand much.

Until the armies start training!

But they saw that the armies were retreating one after another, and the Shenwu and Shence armies began to march.

In addition, the cavalry of the Sixth Army were drawn out separately and imitated the prairie cavalry to make a surprise attack.

Bugles sounded one after another, and the Shenwu and Shence armies quickly formed a car formation.

The arrows without arrow clusters were shot from a distance by the cavalry. The defenders only used their spears to resist, and then the cavalry retreated after being unable to attack the vehicle formation.

Mullek was confused and didn't understand much.

But seeing that the attacking cavalry had all left far away, the defenders dared to show their true strength.

Logistics personnel erected a large number of straw men to serve as targets, and the farthest straw man was actually two miles away.

"Boom boom boom!"

The large-caliber field artillery fired first, then the musket fire, then the artillery short-range shotgun fire, and then the crossbow salvo. When the crossbow fired the third arrow, the previously fired musket fired a second shot, and then the grenadiers threw

The thunderbolts exploded non-stop.

The straw men erected in front either fell down directly or were riddled with bullet holes and arrows.

The envoys from various countries were in complete silence.

Officials of the Ming Dynasty cheered.

Mulek's mouth opened wide. He imagined that he was the commander of the attacking side and came with the cavalry to attack the car formation.

It's probably broken by now.

"kill!"

The valiant cavalry and light cavalry in the chariot formation suddenly rushed out from various passages, trying to chase down the fleeing enemies.

Soon, all the straw men who were still standing were cut down by the cavalry.

Mullek began to doubt life: How should we fight in this kind of military formation?
