Chen Changsheng closed the book and said to Chang Shan: "Some people are born with the ability to see, while some people spend their entire lives trying their best not to be able to see the words in this book. If you were given a choice, what would you do?
Is this scholar's writing skills perfect for a lifetime?"
Chang Shan thought for a moment and said, "Then we have to see what's in the book."
"What if there is Bai Yujing?" Chen Changsheng asked with a smile.
Chang Shan paused and asked: "Sir, are you talking about the immortal way?"
"It can also be understood this way."
Chang Shan didn't think deeply about it, he just thought it was a metaphor made by his husband. After thinking about it carefully, he said: "Then Chang Shan would rather not look at it."
"Why?" Chen Changsheng asked.
"Time goes by and never comes back. If you gamble your whole life on an unknown outcome, it is obviously not worth it."
"You think it's not worth it even if you have the chance to become an immortal?"
"Not worth it."
Chang Shan said: "It's better to live a more relaxed life."
Chen Changsheng laughed after hearing this.
Chang Shan asked in confusion: "What are you laughing at, sir?"
Chen Changsheng said: "You are much smarter than your master."
Chang Shan spoke frankly and said: "Actually, sometimes I feel that Master is not very smart and there are some things that he cannot explain clearly."
Chen Changsheng said: "Your master is very stubborn, just like when he chose to stay in the mountain."
Chang Shan blinked and said: "But if... I was the master, maybe I would make the same choice. Will Mr. Da think I am stupid?"
"Tell me why."
Chang Shan said: "Chang Shan feels that some things must be done by someone. You can't think about why it is me, but you should think about why it can't be me. This is the right way."
Chen Changsheng paused while holding the book. He was a little surprised when Chang Shan said these words.
Chang Shan saw that Chen Changsheng didn't speak for a long time, so he called out.
"gentlemen?"
"hold head high."
Chen Changsheng came to his senses and asked: "Has your master taught you how to read and write before?"
Chang Shan said: "I have taught it, but it is only the teachings of Taoism."
"Besides, how many books have you read?"
Chang Shan shook his head and said: "I haven't read any books, and there are no other books in the temple except the Taoist Scriptures."
Chen Changsheng couldn't help but sigh, in today's world, books are all in the hands of wealthy families, and it is indeed difficult for people at the bottom to find books.
In fact, to put it bluntly, those at the top are stifling the upward path at the bottom by restricting books.
This is sad.
Chen Changsheng took a deep breath and continued to ask: "After reading the Taoist Scriptures, you should also recognize the characters. Can you write them?"
Chang Shan said: "Remember some simple things."
In fact, no. It just seems ridiculous that you can recognize the words but can't write them. It's like a person who hasn't written for many years will forget how to write a certain word from time to time, let alone a person who rarely writes in the first place.
.
"Call your junior brothers and sisters here. Today and tomorrow, Chen will teach you something."
Chang Shan asked: "Sir, are you going to teach us how to write?"
Chen Changsheng shook his head and said: "No, it's just some secular principles."
Chang Shan quickly called the other three over.
Chen Changsheng stood on the steps of the pavilion and glanced at the four disciples in front of him.
"You are enlightened by the Taoist Scriptures. Although there are great principles in the Taoist Scriptures, they describe the way of heaven, not the way of humanity. As humans, you should know the teachings and principles of the way of humanity. It is a pity that it grows barbarically."
"Today I will teach you the truth. If you understand it, listen. If you don't understand, then write it down and think about it in the future."
Chen Changsheng thought for a moment and asked again: "Is there anything you don't want to hear? If you don't want to hear it, you can do other things, and Chen will not embarrass you."
The four disciples below all shook their heads.
Chen Changsheng nodded and said: "Speak in advance. During this teaching, please do not whisper or interrupt me."
By then everything in the backyard had quieted down.
Chen Changsheng began to speak, "The truth begins in the book and ends outside the book. The principles in the book are called great righteousness, but great righteousness does not lie in the world. We need to know that the world is dangerous and people's hearts are complicated. What I am talking about today is Chen Mousan
Watch what you see and don’t spread it to others.”
"When you are in a situation, you should know good and evil. Good and evil all originate from the heart, but it is difficult to judge. The former so-called right path is good. However, it is difficult to judge right and wrong, good and evil. Under the criticism of words and writings, true good can also be evil, and great evil can also be
But it can be twisted. Given the overall situation, don’t follow the crowd and make a clear decision between right and wrong.”
Chang Shan looked at this great gentleman. He felt that what he said was particularly harsh, but it was also true.
"But if you are not clear about good and evil, you should have doubts in your heart, and then look for the root cause to make a clear decision between right and wrong. However, a wise person does not distinguish between good and evil, and he only cares about himself and blames others. This is a way to protect himself; but if he is in his position, he needs to make a judgment
You should think twice before acting on good or evil."
Chang Shan listened fascinated, but the other three senior brothers and sisters listened a little confused.
Firstly, it’s because the three of them didn’t think too much about reading. Chang Shan himself had a lot on his mind. When he first read the Taoist Scriptures, he would ponder the principles in the book from time to time. Although it sounds a bit difficult now, he can understand it.
The fundamental truth therein.
Chen Changsheng kept talking like this.
Shang Lu was puzzled, and he always felt that something his husband said was wrong.
This ran counter to the great principles he saw in the Taoist scriptures.
Almost all of what Mr. Da talks about is the dark side of this world, things that are disgusting but really exist.
In the philosophy of Phytolacca, his good and evil come from his fists; in the philosophy of Scrophulariaceae, his good and evil come from the word "righteousness".
But junior sister Zisu's principles come from her three senior brothers. Whatever the senior brothers say is what they say.
Chen Changsheng only told everything he knew.
He didn't hope that the few people in front of him would understand, but he just hoped that one day when they encounter something, they would think of what he once said.
The sun gradually moves westward, the scorching sun at noon slowly dissipates, and the wind blowing in the forest becomes much cooler.
The chirping of insects in the mountain stream was accompanied by the sound of the teacher teaching in the pavilion. At this moment, the Taoist temple was particularly peaceful.
At dusk.
Xuanhuang returned to the mountain carrying a small bag of soybeans and a peach.
After entering the Taoist temple, I heard sounds coming from the backyard.
After entering the door, he first put down the soybeans and peaches, and then walked slowly to the backyard.
Seeing that Mr. Xuanhuang was explaining the truth, Xuanhuang couldn't bear to disturb him, so he stopped here and listened with the four disciples.
"Some people use the knowledge in books to govern the world, but they don't know that the world is suffering. Although it is easy to talk about military affairs on paper, it is even more difficult to actually implement it. To be a man and do things, you need to know and practice, and you can speak out. There is no distinction between high and low.
It’s not because you understand more principles that you feel you are superior to others.”
"For example, if one day there is a drought in a certain place and there is no harvest, if you, as a court official, are responsible for providing relief to the victims, the court distributes food, but because there are so many people affected by the disaster, the food is obviously not enough, so there is an existing thing that can be used as a substitute, bran.
It is food for livestock, but one pound of grain can be exchanged for three pounds of bran. If bran is used, it will be despised by others, but the food of the victims can still fill their stomachs. If it were you, how would you choose? Grain or bran?
?”
"If you are in your position, you should think about your responsibilities. Don't care about what outsiders say. Chaofu can save many people. Human life is the most important, so choose Chaofu."
