114 Conflict

Li Mingan impatiently took Wang Gang and Hu Dawei to Stanford University to apply for Wang Gang's job.

This matter is actually very troublesome. Wang Gang has no way to intervene at all, leaving it to Li Ming'an and Hu Dawei to negotiate with the school.

Wang Gang filled out a lot of forms, and after a busy afternoon, he finally completed it.

Hu Dawei drove Li Mingan back to Li Ji.

"You will come to work tomorrow at noon, and your salary will start from today." Li Mingan said to Wang Gang before getting off the car.

"No problem, I'll be there before 11 noon tomorrow." Wang Gang said with certainty.

Li Mingan got out of the car with satisfaction. Before leaving, he ran to Hu Dawei and said a few words of thanks.

"It will be very hard for you to travel to both sides of the school cafeteria tomorrow." Hu Dawei said while driving Wang Gang home.

"It's not bad, but I might have to buy a mobility scooter." Wang Gang said.

"The used car market in the United States is huge, but the water is also deep. Please note that I have other things to do tomorrow and cannot help you," Hu Dawei said.

"You misunderstood, I meant buying a bicycle." Wang Gang said, "I don't have a driver's license."

"You'd better get a driver's license. It's difficult to move around in the United States without a car. Your salary will not be low in the future. You should have no problem raising a car." Hu Dawei explained.

"Let's talk about it after I'm stable here!"

Wang Gang had his own considerations. He was working for Li Mingan only to solve an urgent need. If there was a chance, he would still find other ways to make money.

The main reason is that he has just arrived in the United States, is unfamiliar with the place, and does not understand many things, so he needs some time to adapt.

"Let me take you to the supermarket to do some shopping! There are bicycles for sale there, and you should also buy some daily necessities and food." Hu Dawei suggested.

Wang Gang accepted Hu Dawei's proposal, and the two drove to the nearest Wal-Mart supermarket to purchase.

Wang Gang walked around the supermarket and took a fancy to a mountain bike. The price was not too expensive, only 199 US dollars.

Then Wang Gang purchased some more food, mostly quick-frozen meat, because that was the cheapest.

There are not many varieties of vegetables in the United States. Only the most common tomatoes, potatoes and onions are the cheapest. The prices of other vegetables are almost catching up with meat.

The price of fresh meat in supermarkets is also very expensive, only stale frozen meat is affordable, and a large bag of chicken legs only costs ten dollars.

Wang Gang doesn't have much money now, so he can only save some money. Fortunately, he has experienced the courtyard world, and the beginning was much more difficult than now.

After completing the purchase, Hu Dawei fixed the bicycle on the roof of the SUV and put the food in the trunk.

After returning to Susan's house, Hu Dawei slapped his forehead and said, "I forgot to buy a lock."

Wang Gang glanced at the completely dark sky and asked, "Is the hardware store still open now?"

Hu Dawei said helplessly: "It seems that I can only help Susan install the door lock in two days."

The two got out of the car. Hu Dawei helped Wang Gang move things into the house. When he saw Susan, he explained a few words.

Susan did not blame Hu Dawei, and said that the matter was not urgent and he would talk about it when he had time.

Wang Gang took the food to the kitchen, opened the refrigerator and saw that the freezer was already full of food, and there was no room for it.

After Susan saw it, she said: "There is also a freezer in the basement where you can store your frozen meat."

"Thank you very much." Wang Gang said.

The door leading to the basement was next to the stairs on the first floor. Susan was afraid that Wang Gang would not be found, so she took him there specially.

The basement was very dark, with only one light for illumination. It was really inconvenient for Wang Gang to carry food.

"There are some debris in the basement, and the light on the stairs is broken. It's not easy to walk. Please watch your step." Susan specially brought a flashlight to illuminate and lead Wang Gang.

After Wang Gang walked down to the basement, he felt that Susan was being modest. There was more than just a few clutter in the basement, it was almost turning into a garbage heap.

Susan seems to be a bit of a hoarder. She refuses to throw away her old things. They are piled up in the basement in such a mess that it is difficult to walk.

There was a freezer at the end of the basement, and there was a lot of frozen meat in it. Wang Gang checked the production date, and some of them had expired for a long time, and Susan didn't clean them out.

Maybe Susan was a little embarrassed and was going to clean up the freezer and move it to Wang Gang.

"I'll do it!"

Wang Gang took the initiative to help, cleaning out all the expired food in the freezer, and then put the food he just bought into it.

When he was cleaning the freezer, he was afraid that someone was buried in the freezer. Isn't it like this in movies? The wife killed her husband and hid it in the freezer at home for many years.

It was obvious that Wang Gang was overthinking. Susan was not a perverted murderer. Instead, she was very hospitable. She cleaned the freezer with Wang Gang and chatted while working. The two of them got a lot closer.

Through communication, Wang Gang learned that Susan married young, married her husband right after graduating from high school, gave birth to a child at the age of 20, and has been a housewife at home ever since.

When she was 30 years old, her husband died in a traffic accident. Later, Susan took her husband's insurance money and raised her only daughter while working.

Susan's daughter is called Jennifer, who is also a student at Stanford. After graduation, she went to work in Silicon Valley. Later, she married a colleague and settled down in Silicon Valley. She would come back to see Susan when she had time.

Jennifer works for a software company and is very busy at work. Sometimes she may not be able to go home for a month.

Susan was feeling bored in the empty house alone, so she thought of renting out the house to make some money and have something to do to relieve her boredom.

While chatting, Wang Gang took the opportunity to help Susan tidy up the basement, pile up things, and clean up some cobwebs and other things.

Susan looked at Wang Gang at work and suddenly felt a little crazy. Thinking of her dead husband, she couldn't let it go for a long time.

Wang Gang could see that Susan loved her husband very much, otherwise she would not have remained single for so many years.

Susan's conditions are not bad, and it should be easy to get remarried.

People in the United States are very strange. They are very polarized in their relationship. Some people divorce easily. It is common to get married seven or eight times in a lifetime.

But some people stick to one person for the rest of their lives, and they won't change it until they die.

Susan should be the kind of person who sticks to everything.

Wang Gang spent a lot of time cleaning up the basement. When he finished the work, he found that it was almost 9 o'clock and his stomach growled with hunger.

"You help me clean up the basement, and I'll treat you to dinner." Susan suggested as she was also a little hungry.

"Okay!" Wang Gang had no reason to refuse.

Susan fried a steak for Wang Gang. Wang Gang tasted it and found that it tasted pretty good, but it was almost ten o'clock when they finished eating.

Wu Fei and Park Shengji came back early, and they were a little confused when they saw Wang Gang and Susan talking and laughing together over dinner.

Especially Park Shengji, he has lived here for almost a year and is not that familiar with Susan.

Wu Fei still had some objections to Wang Gang. He didn't even say hello when they met, and Wang Gang didn't care either.

The next day, Wang Gang got up early and started doing morning exercises. This was a habit he had developed in Sijiucheng.

But when he went out, he accidentally bumped into Wu Fei. She also seemed to have the habit of running in the morning.

Wang Gang took the initiative to say hello to Wu Fei, but Wu Fei ignored him, flicked his ponytail and ran in the opposite direction of Wang Gang.

Wang Gang didn't mean to be hot-tempered and went for a morning run alone. It's just that maybe he and Wu Fei's running route was a circle, and they bumped into each other not long after running.

As he passed by, Wang Gang heard Wu Fei snort coldly.

Wang Gang shook his head and didn't care, but when they met for the second time, Wu Fei finally stopped.

"Why do you always follow me?" Wu Fei stopped Wang Gang and accused him.

"I didn't follow you. The community is so big. We would always run into each other if we ran around." Wang Gang explained.

"You are not allowed to run the same route as me." Wu Fei said a little unreasonably.

"Does your family drive the road? Can you control which way I want to run?" Wang Gang didn't want to pay attention to Wu Fei, strode over her, and ran forward.

Wu Fei, who had never been so angry in his life, suddenly became angry and wanted to catch up with Wang Gang to argue.

It's just that Wang Gang ran faster and faster, and Wu Fei couldn't catch up with all his strength. Instead, the distance between them became farther and farther.

"Ah!" Wu Fei suddenly screamed and fell on the road.

Wang Gang looked back and found that Wu Fei was lying on the road, probably suffering from leg cramps, groaning in pain.

At first Wang Gang didn't want to take care of it, but after thinking that both of them were Chinese, he couldn't help it and turned back.

"Are you okay?" Wang Zheng asked happily.

"I don't want you to worry about it." Wu Fei covered his right leg and said with force.
