1378 Depressing New Year’s Eve Dinner

The Spring Festival is coming, the colorful colors reflect the strong human touch, and the whole country is celebrating happily.

On New Year's Eve, Wang Gang originally planned to celebrate the festival at home, but he couldn't resist Ma Kui's enthusiasm. In the end, the three families decided to celebrate the festival together, at Ma's house.

Wang Gang's family of three, Ma Kui's family of four, and Peng Mingjie's father and daughter, a total of nine people gathered at the same table, which was very lively.

Before the New Year's Eve dinner started, Ma Yan pulled Wang Gang aside and begged: "Brother Xiao Gang, Wang Xin will be here soon, can you say something good about Wang Xin in front of my dad?"

Wang Gang was surprised and said: "You called Wang Xin here without consulting Uncle Ma!"

Ma Yan said: "Wang Xin has no one at home. He is alone every Chinese New Year. He is really lonely, so I called him here."

Wang Gang glanced at Ma Kui, who was making dumplings, and said: "You are too courageous. What day is it today? If you ask Wang Xin to come over, aren't you looking for scolding?"

Ma Yan said: "I thought to myself that there were many people at home today, and my father would let Wang Xin stay for the sake of face."

Wang Gang disagreed and did not agree.

Ma Yan has been dating Wang's new partner behind her parents' back for several years. At first, Ma Kui and Wang Sufang were too focused on their unborn Ma's fitness, so naturally they didn't notice.

But now Ma Jian is almost three years old, and Ma Kui is a very powerful detective. How can Ma Yan hide it from him with her little tricks?

Ma Kui and Wang Sufang objected to Ma Yan and Wang Xin being together more than once. Ma Kui almost beat their daughter once. If Wang Sufang hadn't pretended to be sick, Ma Yan would have been beaten.

Ma Yan was also a stubborn donkey. She had her sights set on Wang Xin. No matter how much she tried to persuade her, it was useless. She insisted on being with Wang Xin. The two of them had been dragging their feet like this for several years.

Today, Ma Yan couldn't bear it anymore. She wanted to marry Wang Xin, so she decided to go ahead with the New Year and let Wang Xin come to her house to celebrate the New Year and break into the house to test Ma Kui's attitude.

"Ma Yan, you should know that because of Wang Yongge, Wang Xin will always be a small policeman in the police force with no future. Do you still want to choose him?" Wang Gang pulled Ma Yan into the room and asked him again.

Call Peng Yongli to persuade her.

"Sister Yan, have you really thought it through? Wang Xin has nothing. So many things happened between your two families before. If you really get married, your second father will definitely not be able to accept it!" Peng Yongli said, holding Ma Yan's arm.

"I know everything you said, but I am sure of Wang Xin, and no one can persuade me." Ma Yan said stubbornly.

Wang Gang said with a straight face: "If you really think about it, we will no longer advise you, but we will not help you either."

"Why!" Ma Yan said unwillingly.

"Because we don't want to watch you jump into the fire pit." Wang Gang sighed: "You never thought that Wang Yongge would come out in a few years, and you and Wang Xinzhen would get married. How would Uncle Ma face this in-laws?"

Ma Yan said stubbornly: "Wang Yongge has paid the price for what he did. My father has forgiven him and Wang Xin. Why can't we be allowed to get married?"

"What you said is simple. After all, Wang Yongge caused Uncle Ma to be imprisoned unjustly for ten years. No matter how generous he is, there is no way he would marry his only daughter to Wang Yongge's son." Wang Gang advised.

Ma Yan obviously disagreed, so Wang Gang simply stopped trying to persuade her. Wang Gang had seen many love-minded people like Ma Yan. This kind of people would never look back until they hit the wall. Sometimes, it would be useless even if they hit the wall.

Wang Gang didn't want to waste his time.

After a while, Wang Xin came to the door carrying something. The moment Ma Kui saw him, his face turned green.

Ma Yan came out to smooth things over. Ma Kui looked at the New Year party and there were so many people at home, so he could only pinch his nose and invite Wang Xin in.

"Master, today is the Chinese New Year. I have brought some New Year's goods, please accept them." Wang Xin put the things he brought in front of Ma Kui.

"Don't call me master, I am no longer your master." Ma Kui said with a straight face: "You can call me Uncle Ma if you want, but you don't have to call me Ma Kui if you don't want to."

Wang Xin said: "Once a teacher, you will always be a father. You once accepted me as a disciple, and you will be my master forever."

Wang Sufang pushed Ma Kui, reached out to take Wang Xin's things, and said with a smile: "Wang Xin, come in and sit down, let's have New Year's Eve dinner together."

Although Ma Kui kept a dark face, he did not chase Wang Xin out. He also knew that Wang Xin had nowhere to go during the New Year and was alone, so he immediately felt sympathy.

Ma Yan happily pulled Wang Xin to sit down. Just as she was about to sit next to Wang Xin, she was pulled up by Ma Kui.

"Sit down next to Uncle Peng and Xiaoli and help me greet them." Ma Kui didn't want his daughter to get too close to Wang Xin.

"Why do Uncle Peng and Xiaoli need me to greet them?" Ma Yan said unwillingly.

"Then go help your mother take care of the children." Ma Kui said solemnly.

The atmosphere at the dinner table became tense instantly.

Wang Gang gave Peng Yongli a wink, and Peng Yongli immediately understood. She stood up and said to Ma Yan: "Sister Yan, let's go make dumplings! My second mother is tired after a long day of work. Let her have a good New Year's Eve dinner."

Peng Yongli walked to Ma Yan and dragged her to the kitchen.

Ma Kui sat directly next to Wang Xin and said to Wang Xin with murderous eyes: "Are the police team busy now?"

Wang Xin began to sweat on his forehead, and replied subconsciously: "It's okay. There are more people during the Spring Festival this year than in previous years, and many people go to the south to celebrate the festival."

Seeing that the atmosphere was tense, Peng Mingjie took the initiative to ask Wang Xin: "Why go to the south for the holidays and stay in your hometown for a reunion dinner? Isn't it good?"

Wang Xin explained: "Nowadays, many young people go to the south to work. It is difficult to buy New Year tickets, so family members will go there in advance to reunite."

"Are the changes in the south really that big now?" Peng Mingjie asked, remembering Wang Gang's proposal to go south for business.

"I'm traveling on the Magic City Line now, and the changes there are really big. It almost looks the same every day, which is very different from here." Wang Xin nodded.

Peng Mingjie lowered his head and thought for a while, thinking about whether he should go to the south in person after the Chinese New Year. He felt uneasy if he didn't see some things in person.

Wang Gang had been observing his future father-in-law, and knowing that Peng Mingjie was moved, he said to Wang Xin: "Wang Xin, I heard that there are many people doing business in the Magic City, is it true?"

"Yes." Wang Xin said a little depressed: "The business atmosphere near the Light and Magic Metro Station is very strong. Sometimes I even want to quit my job and go to work."

"You went into the sea? The police quit!" Ma Kui frowned.

When Wang Xin was able to keep his job as a policeman, Ma Kui worked hard, so when he heard that he wanted to go to sea, he reacted more than anyone else.

Wang Xin said in a low voice: "Because of my father's affairs, I was ostracized in the police force. I may not be able to continue working as a police officer."

Wang Gang could understand that as a family member of a murderer, Wang Xin might be isolated in ordinary units, let alone police units.

Ma Kui was silent at this time, and then he remembered that Wang Xin had paid a lot because of Wang Yongge's incident. In fact, what happened back then had nothing to do with him.

"Oh, the children really shouldn't be affected by adults' affairs." Ma Kui thought to himself.

At this time, Ma Yan came out of the kitchen with a large plate of dumplings and said loudly: "Wang Xin, if you resign and go to work, I will resign too, and then we will do business together."

The little compassion Ma Kui had just felt was instantly dispelled by Ma Yan's words.

"Why are you joining in the fun? The job in the supply and marketing cooperative is stable, and the harvest is guaranteed during droughts and floods. You are not allowed to resign." Ma Kui slammed his wine glass on the table, causing a large splash of hops.

"Dad, the wages in the supply and marketing cooperative are too low. The little money every month is not enough to eat." Ma Yan complained.

"What meal do you need at home?" Ma Kui said angrily.

Wang Sufang secretly pushed Ma Kui.

"Lao Ma, it's the Chinese New Year. If you have anything to do, we'll talk about it after the Chinese New Year."

Ma Kui had a straight face, but didn't say anything about his daughter.
