320 Disappointment

Early the next morning, Hao Dongmei picked up her husband Zhou Bingyi and rushed to Wang Gang's house to tell her about the meeting between her in-laws.

Wang Gang and Zhou Rong were relatively calm, but Zhou Zhigang and Li Suhua became nervous.

"Old woman, please quickly bring out the new clothes Bingkun gave me."

"Juan'er, please clean your house, especially the bathroom and kitchen."

"Zhou Rong, wash Feng Yue's hair quickly. Her hair is greasy. Don't be rude in front of her relatives."

The excitement Zhou Zhigang showed made Hao Dongmei feel that he had been looking forward to this meeting for many years.

"Dad, there is no need to clean the house. Our two families will eat in the guest house and will not come to the house." Zhou Bingyi said to his father with a smile.

"What if your father-in-law wants to come and sit at home? You can't be rude."

Wang Gang said helplessly: "Isn't the house at home very clean? It's no better than the old house with phototypes."

Zhou Zhigang accused: "Zhou Bingkun, when you see Dongmei's father at night, please don't be stupid and talk as little as possible."

Zhou Bingyi thought of what happened yesterday and warned his younger brother: "Bingkun, you must never treat Dongmei's father like your nose is not your nose and your eyes are not your eyes like you did yesterday."

Zhou Zhigang asked in confusion: "What's going on? Bingkun met Dongmei's father yesterday?"

Hao Dongmei stood up and said: "Our family lives in the same courtyard as Mr. Ma's family, and we happened to meet each other yesterday. It was nothing serious."

Zhou Zhigang knew from Zhou Bingyi's face that Hao Dongmei must be hiding something from him.

"Zhou Bingkun, what's going on for you?" Zhou Zhigang shouted angrily to Wang Gang.

Wang Gang said indifferently: "I didn't do anything, I just ignored Hao Senior Official!"

"Ignore?!" Zhou Zhigang exclaimed.

Zhou Bingyi told Zhou Zhigang in detail what happened yesterday. He originally thought that Zhou Zhigang would give his brother a hard lesson to make him remember better.

What he didn't expect was that after Zhou Zhigang heard everything, he sighed and said nothing.

Even Li Suhua did not blame Wang Gang, and even walked aside silently, deliberately not looking at Hao Dongmei.

Zhou Rong even complained about Wang Gang: "Bingkun did the right thing this time. People don't want to recognize us as their in-laws, so why should we be so warm to each other?"

Zhou Bingyi shouted: "Zhou Rong, don't talk nonsense."

Hao Dongmei stood aside and was very embarrassed. She probably understood the psychology of the Zhou family now.

"Dongmei, Zhou Rong didn't mean that, don't take it to heart." Zhou Bingyi comforted his wife.

"Bingyi, you don't need to explain. I know that my parents have gone too far in the past few years. The in-laws are in the same city and haven't seen each other for several years. It really doesn't make sense." Hao Dongmei said sensibly.

Zhou Zhigang said: "Dongmei, don't hold grudges against Bingkun. He has always been such a fool. If you want to blame him, just blame me for my lack of discipline."

Wang Gang was a little surprised. When did Zhou Zhigang become so "sensible"?

In the past, Zhou Zhigang would not be so reasonable. He would usually beat him first and then talk.

Wang Gang glanced at Li Suhua and understood what was going on.

Zhou Zhigang has changed his mentality. He knows that he and his wife will have to rely on their younger son to provide for themselves in the future, so he can endure it so much.

The most important thing is that although what Wang Gang did this time was inappropriate, it hit Zhou Zhigang's heart.

Can he not complain about Hao Gaoguan and his wife? It's definitely impossible.

Hao Gaoguan and his wife's indifference to the Zhou family was almost undisguised.

Zhou Zhigang has been holding his breath in his heart, but for the sake of his eldest son's happiness, he has been holding back.

This time Wang Gang retaliated with tit for tat and ignored senior official Hao. Zhou Zhigang felt bad intellectually, but he couldn't help but feel happy in his heart!

Li Suhua's psychology is actually similar, and she may have a deeper thought than Zhou Zhigang.

What Wang Gang did yesterday, apart from being sulky, may not mean to protect his parents.

In the final analysis, it is the son who feels sorry for his parents for having to compromise all these years!

"Bingkun, when you see Dongmei's father tonight, you have to apologize properly. He is so generous that he doesn't argue with you. You have to know it yourself." Li Suhua said to Wang Gang.

"I know, Mom." Wang Gang said casually.

He always felt that something would go wrong when the in-laws met today and it wouldn't go well.

Zhou Zhigang mobilized his whole family and took out his best clothes to wear, taking this meeting with his in-laws very seriously.

He even wanted to buy some gifts for the meeting, but Hao Dongmei finally stopped him.

"Due to the nature of my parents' work, it is not easy to accept gifts." Hao Dongmei said to Zhou Zhigang.

"You're right, look at my brain." Zhou Zhigang turned to Wang Gang and asked: "Is there any good wine at home? You can't bring gifts. Bring a bottle of good wine and let's drink together at the head office!"

Hao Dongmei said helplessly: "My dad's asthma has just stabilized, and the doctor told him to drink less."

Zhou Zhigang was stunned for a moment, feeling troubled.

Wang Gang said: "Otherwise, bring a bottle of red wine. The editor in Xiangjiang brought me a bottle of French wine last time, and I was reluctant to drink it."

Zhou Zhigang looked at Hao Dongmei again.

"Red wine has low alcohol content, so drinking less of it is good for your cardiovascular system."

Zhou Zhigang smiled.

In addition to bringing wine, Zhou Zhigang also dug out two cans of good tea, which Mr. Ma gave him yesterday, and planned to take them together.

At two o'clock in the afternoon, Zhou Zhigang urged the whole family to wait at the guest house.

"Everyone, pack up and leave early." Zhou Zhigang encouraged.

"Dinner time is six o'clock. It only takes twenty minutes to walk from home to the guest house. There is no need to go so early." Wang Gang said speechlessly.

"What do you know? What if something unexpected happens along the way? It's best to arrive early, and we can't let Dongmei's father wait for us." Zhou Zhigang said angrily.

"Bingkun, listen to your dad! It doesn't matter whether you wait at home or at the guest house." Li Suhua advised.

Seeing that Zhou Zhigang regarded this meeting with his in-laws as so important, Wang Gang had no choice but to take his wife and children to the guest house.

Zhou Bingyi arrived at the guest house early in the morning and was even more nervous than Zhou Zhigang. Even the private room where he was about to eat had to be cleaned.

Hao Dongmei arrived at five o'clock in the afternoon. She rushed right after class and did not go home to meet her parents.

This chapter is not over yet, please click on the next page to continue reading! As a result, everyone waited until six o'clock in the afternoon, and at the agreed time, Hao Gaoguan and his wife did not arrive.

Hao Dongmei couldn't sit still and was going to call home to ask.

"Dongmei, please stop working. Let's wait. Maybe your father has something to do and is delayed." Zhou Zhigang stopped Hao Dongmei.

Wang Gang sat aside and curled his lips, quite disapproving of it.

After half past six, Hao Dongmei began to feel restless and kept staring at the door of the box.

"Otherwise, I'll wait outside the guest house, because I'm afraid your parents will find the private room." Zhou Bingyi suggested.

Wang Gang said angrily: "Didn't the people at the guest house say that if they see your father-in-law and mother-in-law, they will bring them over?"

Zhou Bingyi glanced at Wang Gang complainingly.

Time passed slowly, and when it was seven o'clock, Zhou Cong shouted that he was hungry.

"Mom, I'm so hungry. When can I eat?"

Zheng Juan hugged her son and said, "Congcong, if you bear with it a little longer, you will be able to eat soon."

Wang Gang took out a small bag of biscuits from his bag, handed it to Zheng Juan and said, "My son is hungry. Let's eat some biscuits first to cushion him."

Zheng Juan glanced at Hao Dongmei and hesitated: "Isn't this bad?"

"Juan'er, don't make the children hungry. If not, I'll order a few dishes for the children to eat first," Hao Dongmei said.

Zhou Zhigang looked at the clock and said: "Don't order food yet, Congcong eat some biscuits first."

Zhou Bingyi and Hao Dongmei felt that the stools under their buttocks were very hot, and their whole bodies felt uncomfortable and very embarrassed.

Zhou Cong and Feng Yue ate some biscuits but didn't complain that they were hungry. They waited until half past seven when Hao Dongmei couldn't bear it anymore and went out to make a phone call home.

A few minutes later, Hao Dongmei walked into the box with a red face, looked at Zhou Zhigang and Li Suhua, and was embarrassed to speak for a long time.

Zhou Bingyi's heart sank, knowing that something must have happened.

"Dongmei, what's wrong!"

Hao Dongmei stammered: "My dad was temporarily unable to come, so he asked us to eat first, and the bill will be borne by him."

After hearing this, everyone stopped talking, and Zhou Zhigang's face became even more frighteningly dark.

Wang Gang snorted coldly: "If you can't come because you have something to do, couldn't you call earlier to inform us? How many hours are we going to have to wait in vain?"

Zhou Zhigang said in a deep voice: "Bingkun, stop talking."

Wang Gang did not shut up and asked Hao Dongmei: "I remember that your mother has retired. Senior official Hao can't come because of something. What's the matter with your mother?"

Hao Dongmei's face turned red when asked, and she lowered her head in shame.

Zhou Zhigang stood up directly, glanced at the whole family, and finally his eyes fell on his eldest son Zhou Bingyi.

"Bingyi, I'm going back."

Zhou Bingyi opened his mouth to persuade him to stay, saying that since his in-laws couldn't come, we could just eat by ourselves!

But seeing his parents' gloomy faces, Zhou Bingyi couldn't say anything.
