"The residence of the imperial court in the county, and the residence of those who are in the capital." [Hanshu·Di Ji IV·Yan Shigu's Notes]
Chang'an City, Hanyang Residence.
Dishe refers to the offices stationed in the capital by local administrative agencies such as states, counties, countries, and counties. It is used to provide food and accommodation for local officials when they enter Chang'an, and to keep abreast of the court's situation. This originates from the Qin and Han Dynasties.
The residence system was also the predecessor of the "Beijing Office" in later generations.
Hanyang Residence is the county residence and office established by Hanyang County in Liangzhou in Chang'an.
The day after Zhao Qian's death, Ma Teng and Han Sui, who had been watching for a long time, arrived. They were warmly welcomed by the court as soon as they arrived. The emperor summoned them immediately and promised not to blame them.
For his past crimes, he was given a reward, and he was made the governor of Liangzhou by Han Sui, and Ma Teng was made the general of Pingdi.
The court's performance made Ma Teng completely let go of his worries and began to enjoy his days in Chang'an with peace of mind.
Ma Teng had his reasons for feeling relieved, and Han Sui had his reasons for being worried.
Ma Rixi, one of the giants in the court and Situ Lu Shangshu, has already acknowledged Ma Teng's identity and belongs to a branch of the Ma family in Fufeng. From now on, relying on Ma Rixi's relationship, Ma Teng will be able to achieve great success regardless of Han Sui.
After a few years of staying together, it’s not obvious which family is doing well.
Han Sui was worried that he might succumb to Ma Teng in the future, and felt a little jealous in his heart. He looked at Ma Teng with an unnatural look: "It is really shameful for me to inherit the legacy of my ancestors and shine on my family.
"
Ma Teng noticed the change in Han Sui's title, and said with a cheerful smile: "If it weren't for the imperial court's pardon and Situ Magong's wisdom, how could I return to the official position and return to the clan?"
Han Sui held the cup in his hand and said nonchalantly: "Yes, I remember when we raised the army, supported each other and went through hardships together. Now that we have settled down, I will live in the capital from now on. My younger brother will rush to Jincheng soon.
It’s hard to meet each other.”
Ma Teng didn't understand the meaning of Han Sui's words, and was about to ask more questions when he heard a sudden noise coming from outside the door.
"Are you running around again?" Ma Teng said sharply.
As soon as he finished speaking, he saw Ma Chao leading his horse and walking past the court, followed by a dozen knights who were also leading their horses.
"Ah Weng!" Ma Chao threw the reins into Cang Tou's hand, walked in, and said, "I just went on a hunting trip to the north of the city with Ling Ming and the others."
"This is Chang'an, and there are many powerful and famous families here. Don't cause any trouble for me." Ma Teng warned.
"Can't I see who can be offended and who can't be offended?" Ma Chao couldn't help but screamed, and suddenly whispered: "What did Ling Ming say to Aweng again?"
When Ma Teng saw him like this, he knew that the other party must have caused trouble outside. After careful questioning, it turned out that he just stepped on the farmer's wheat when he was riding out: "If it is ordinary people's wheat, don't worry about him. If it's wheat from an ordinary family, don't worry about it."
If you entrust yourself to another family, you must leave money to apologize. You must not cause any loss of life. My father and son have just joined the family not long ago. Even if they have the name of the Ma family, they must be more cautious after all."
Han Sui saw Ma Teng solemnly claiming to be a descendant of the Ma family, and he never thought about whether Ma Rixi accepted it sincerely, so he couldn't help but feel funny: "Fortunately, the imperial court did not have any laws about caring for farmers and cherishing things, but it doesn't matter, you have a noble family background."
, when the imperial court relies heavily on its subordinates, it will never punish them no matter what."
Ma Teng lived in the Qiang brigade for a long time. Although he often claimed to be a descendant of the Ma family, due to his humble background and participation in the rebellion, no one recognized him for all these years. It was not until this surrender that he was endorsed and accepted by Ma Rixi, the head of the Ma family.
, only then can he officially claim to be a descendant of Ma Yuan.
Whether he returned to his ancestors or joined a powerful family, Ma Teng's class had been raised to countless levels, far above Han Sui, and he would no longer be on an equal footing with Han Sui in Liangzhou.
Ma Teng was confused by fame and fortune, and was still immersed in the joy of returning to the wealthy class. For a moment, he had no time to take into account the sarcasm in Han Sui's words.
Han Sui felt bored and turned to Ma Chao and said: "Ma Jianyong is still white these days, so he doesn't have to worry about it. After he enters school, he will have to follow the rules at all times."
Ma Teng's smile faded and he continued: "What Wen Yue said is that His Majesty has issued an edict to allow you to study Ming Jing in Taixue. Most of the Ming Jing students in Taixue are from the Haoying family, so you have to make good friends.
You must not cause any trouble for me!"
"Tai Xue?" Ma Chao asked in shock: "Shouldn't he enter the palace and become a lieutenant? Pang De is also a Yulin lieutenant."
Pang De had served as a county official and a state official, but he was just a small tycoon from Nan'an County, Liangzhou. In the past, when he followed Ma Teng, who was not recognized by the Ma family, Ma Teng would look up to him. Now his identity and situation are no longer the same.
Different from the past, my position and attitude have naturally changed.
"How can he compare with you?" Ma Teng said: "After entering the imperial college, I will get to know more talented people. In three years, it won't matter whether you can pass the examination or not. I will find a military position for you. Pang Decheng
No matter what, Habayashi is just fighting against the generals, right? How can he compare with you?"
Ma Chao was still reluctant: "But I haven't been able to understand that scripture since I was a child. Now I am asked to study it for three years... If Xinxihou didn't read "Qi Shi" at the beginning, wouldn't he still be successful?"
"You are still young, so you should study some knowledge. Although my family has produced distinguished officials such as Xin Xihou who started their careers through military exploits, did they rely on Manan County to pass down the classics to the family?" Ma Teng said with his eyes wide open.
: "Even today's Situ is a learned man. I don't want you to be a doctor. At least you have to understand the scriptures, right? Otherwise, how will others view my family in the future?"
Manan County refers to the great Confucian Ma Rong, who had thousands of disciples, including Lu Zhi and Zheng Xuan. The Fufeng Ma family relied on Ma Yuan's foundation and Ma Rong's great reputation to become one of the most wealthy families in Kansai.
At this point, Ma Chao couldn't refute and retreated in frustration.
After Ma Teng saw Ma Chao leaving, he said to Han Sui: "This boy, when will you let me worry?"
Han Sui smiled and did not answer. He said: "Young Master is admitted to the Imperial Academy, which can be said to be a favor from me. But this Pang De... he only worked for Liangzhou, and he was also a general under me.
Have you ever thought about how your Majesty learned this person’s name and why he promoted him?”
Ma Teng has also thought about this problem. His explanation for this is: "It must be to divide my power, but Pang De is not my confidant and does not control personal soldiers. His Majesty transfers him, which does not have anything to do with me."
, I can actually take Pound’s people under my command.”
"It's not that simple." Han Sui said solemnly: "The thousands of soldiers and horses you brought with you are originally subordinate to you. Your Majesty does not put people in them, but instead transfers Pang De, who has a foreign name. Do you really want to divide you?
