1. Perfect life simulator

It was raining lightly outside the window.

Su Wu looked at the rain outside the window and sighed silently. His mood was as gloomy as the sky outside.

Three years ago today, it was raining lightly, and the news of my parents' death was delivered to my school that day.

Sitting at the desk, he picked up a watch.

The watch is an old thing. When I was a child, my grandfather always wore this watch. Later, it was passed down to my father.

Later, when his parents passed away, the watch came into Su Wu's hands.

He kept this watch with him all the time, talking and thinking about it.

The dial mirror is a little yellowish and blurry, but the metal bracelet is still shining brightly. At this moment, the hands under the mirror are motionless, pointing stubbornly at two fifteen minutes.

"Why isn't it turning?"

Su Wu frowned and looked at the stagnant watch hands. After he dug out the watch from his parents' belongings, it kept spinning. This was the first time it had stopped spinning in three years.

Is it broken?

Stopping his thoughts, he twisted his fingers on the crown on the right side of the dial and tried to turn the crown.

However, the watch handle seemed to be welded to the dial. No matter how hard Su Wu put his fingers, it would not move at all.

He was a little anxious and used more force.

Unexpectedly, his fingers brushed against the edges on the side of the watch. The edges, which were originally harmless, cut a small wound directly on his fingertips due to his excessive force.

Blood seeped out immediately, staining the dial glass red.

Su Wu quickly took out paper to wipe the blood on the mirror - but before he could wipe it, the blood condensed into a drop of blood on the mirror. This drop of blood suddenly seeped into the watch and fell on the hands of the watch.

'Ta da, da da, da da...'

The hands of the watch, which had been stagnant, now started to rotate again.

It's like I got help from that drop of blood.

The entire dial turned bright red, and then the bright red dyed through the watch chain, wrapping tightly around Su Wu's wrist.

He saw the blood-soaked second hand rotating clockwise at a speed that was difficult to reach with the naked eye, going round and round.

The direction of the minute hand and hour hand also changes rapidly.

The hands of the clock were still spinning, and the room where Su Wu was was plunged into endless darkness.

A huge dial was suspended in the darkness, and all the hands pointed to the number '0'. A mechanical electronic female voice sounded in Su Wu's mind: "Welcome to the perfect life simulator!"

"You can consume Yuan Yu and choose to simulate your own life or the life of others to find solutions to many life problems!"

"Currently, only your future life can be simulated. Do you want to start the simulation?"

The series of female voices impacted Su Wu's thinking. He saw the second hand pointing to the number '1' on the huge dial, and a display screen appeared next to '1'.

Su Wu on the screen was sitting in front of his desk, looking at his empty palms and frowning in thought.

Is this the life you can choose to simulate now?

Where does the consumed Yuan Yu come from?

How did the watch passed down from my grandfather become the so-called 'perfect life simulator' it is now?

Su Wu's mind was filled with chaotic thoughts.

These chaotic thoughts were all rushed away when the electronic sound sounded: "You will receive Yuan Yu and other rewards based on your score after each simulation."

Su Wu listened to the electronic music, and suddenly thought of whether the mysterious death of his parents had something to do with this simulator?

His heart skipped a beat and he finally made up his mind.

——Perhaps you can find answers to some puzzles from this bizarre life simulator!

"I'm going to start the simulation!" he responded in his mind.

"It is detected that your Yuanyu wallet balance is '5', personal life simulation consumes one Yuanyu."

"When you use the Perfect Life Simulator for the first time, you can consume one jade to randomly obtain a permanent talent. Do you want to consume it?"

Su Wu didn't understand why there was Yuan Yu in his wallet, but when he suddenly heard the simulator's inquiry, he did not hesitate and directly consumed one Yuan Jade to extract a permanent talent.

No matter what game it is, in order to entice players to spend, the first deposit reward will be set to be extremely valuable.

"Talent extraction in progress..."

"The extraction is successful! You get the permanent talent 'Calm (Green)'."

"Calm (green): You have a cautious mentality that is more prominent among ordinary people. You can carefully observe things around you in chaotic situations, and you have certain logical thinking abilities."

The moment the talent extraction was completed, Su Wu's mind suddenly cleared, and many of the thoughts that had been floating in his mind calmed down, allowing him to carefully evaluate the current situation.

The calm talent is currently only of green quality. Does it mean that it also has blue, purple, orange and other qualities?

The talents extracted by the simulator are not only used in the simulation game, but also can be directly used on yourself in reality!

"You can choose to consume a certain amount of Yuan Yu to bring real-life items into the simulation game. The options are as follows..."

There was only one pointer left on the huge dial, which was rotating rapidly all the time.

The numbers around the dial have become items.

Option 0: Your body (currently consuming 10 Yuan Yu, you can experience the Sims personally. Any gain or debuff the body receives in the Sims is irreversible. If the body dies in the game, it will also die in reality)

Option 1: Half a pack of paper towels.

Option 2: A watermelon knife.

Option 3: A handcrafted Han sword produced by a sword factory.

Option 4: Three folding stools.

Option 5: A set of cups.

Densely packed options are lined up around the dial, and everything is an object in the room where Su Wu lives in the real world.

His eyes stayed on option 0 for a long time.

This game gradually exceeded his expectations, making him intuitively aware that the life he was about to simulate might also be extraordinary.

Except for option 0, all other items require only one Yuan Yu to be brought into the game.

Even so, Su Wu chose none in the end.

He doesn't have much Yuan Jade, so he has to use it on the blade. Are there watermelon knives, paper towels, etc. in the game?

As for bringing your own body into the game, that's even more impossible.

When he entered the game for the first time, how could he block his escape route? What's more, he didn't have ten yuan jade.

Su Wu saw the hands on the huge dial rotating in a circle, all pointing to the number '1'.

The dial turned into dots of light and disappeared, and the prompt sounded: "Your future life has been loaded successfully!"

It was still so dark that Su Wu could not see his fingers, and the scene Su Wu found himself in did not seem to have changed from before.

But he listened carefully and did not hear the sound of rain outside the window.

He tried to stand up, groped around in the dark space, and came across the table in front of him. Then he moved against the edge of the table and touched a switch on a wall.

Press the switch and the dark space is instantly illuminated.

Su Wu saw two begonia-colored desks put together against one wall. There were a few books piled in the corner of the table on the right.

A laptop is closed and placed on the table.

There is a notepad on it.

He turned his head slightly and saw a mandarin-colored bookcase behind him. There were many books that Su Wu was familiar with, but there were layers of mildew on these books.

The walls on all four sides had yellow lines that looked like they had been soaked by rain, and clusters of green mold stains spread along those lines to the surrounding area.

"this is my room."

"After all, I haven't thought about tidying up the room. It's normal that it will continue unchanged into the future."

"But why is there so much mold in the room? Will there be a lot of rain in the future?"

Su Wu glanced at the window, but it was completely blocked by thick wooden boards that were light-proof.

"Why do you have to cover the windows so tightly?" He felt a little strange.

He walked to the desk and looked at the calendar on the desk.

The past dates were crossed out with a red pen on the desk calendar, and the date that was not drawn out showed 'April 17, 2030 in the solar calendar'.

This date is exactly one week past the real date.

But Su Wu couldn't be sure that the time shown on the desk calendar was correct—sometimes it would take several days for him to remember to cross out the past date.

He picked up the notepad on the table and flipped through the familiar words page by page.

After her parents passed away, Su Wu began to have the habit of remembering things.

I don’t write every day, but I write two or three times a week.

This originally useless habit became an excellent tool for him to understand what happened in the past period of time.

‘April 10, 1930.

During the morning meeting on Monday, our supervisor asked us to turn on our mobile phones on weekends and check the work group messages frequently.

Haha, he has such a beautiful idea. I can’t turn away from it.’

‘April 13, 1930.

Tomorrow is Friday, and I decided to go fishing all night in the countryside after get off work on Friday.

Wang Zhiyou asked his supervisor to go to a club to have fun on the weekend, and I happened to overhear the whisper. Should I report them?’

‘April 14, 30.

Reported.

The weather seems to be very humid recently. There are a lot of mold spots on the walls and many books on the bookshelves are damp. Logically speaking, this is not the south. Is the air so humid?

Remember to take out the book and dry it tomorrow.’

‘April 16, 1930.

I heard that several murders occurred nearby, but the murderer has not yet been found.

I haven't inquired carefully about the specific location, so I don't know clearly.

Forgot to post the book, I’ll talk about it next week.

There are more and more mold spots on the walls.’

‘April 18, 1930.

The couple living upstairs died.

I didn't dare to watch it. I heard that the death was very scary. I would definitely have nightmares if I saw it, right?

Tenants on several floors are preparing to move, and moving trucks are starting to line up downstairs. Do I want to find another place to live?

Is there something wrong with the structure of this room? It’s been sunny these past few days, why is there still mold growing everywhere?’

‘April 19, 30.

I smelled a slight smell of a dead rat, but couldn’t find the rat.’

Su Wu turned to the last page.

There is no date recorded on the text on the last page, and a line hastily written in red pen: So many people have died recently, is the murderer really a human?

What does it mean?

What else can it be if it’s not a human being?

A chill surged from the bottom of Su Wu's heart.

He closed the notebook, but before the chill in his heart dissipated, he suddenly smelled an extremely strong smell of dead mice in his nose.

An even colder breath suddenly emerged from behind him and quickly stuck to his entire back!

what happened!

He turned his head hurriedly, and out of the corner of his eye, he only had time to catch a glimpse of a black shadow suddenly standing up under his feet, and then a sharp pain rushed to the top of his head along with the sound of flesh and bones being torn apart!

Su Wu lowered his head and looked——

A bloody hole opened in his chest.

A black palm with ten fingers that was not stained with a drop of blood was squirming on his chest.

Su Wu's eyes went dark.
