Chapter 37: The Supreme Lineage, Peerless!

The one who transmits the teachings is to teach the true Dharma and teach them how to attain enlightenment. Practitioners who truly have the Dharma lineage have to go through such things before they can be called disciples. Otherwise, even if they have passed on magical powers, they cannot be called teachers.

Instead, they are regarded as secretly transmitting the Dharma lineage and leaking magical powers. For many Dharma lineages, this is a extremely illegal act.

Because the Dharma cannot be taught lightly, it must be examined repeatedly to assess one's character and qualifications before the correct Dharma can be taught.

For a disciple, it is extremely important to meet a famous teacher and obtain the faxed Dharma. However, for a teacher, it is also worthy of celebration to meet a disciple who meets his expectations in terms of temperament, qualifications, and understanding.

For great things, among countless sentient beings and in the vast sea of people, finding this person is no less than finding a needle in a haystack.

The girl whispered doubtfully: "I remember that transmission seems to be very important, and it requires three masters."

"Uncle Niu, is this okay today?"

Huang Niu looked at this scene slowly and said calmly: "There are three masters coming, the master of measurement, the master of recommendation, and the master of supervision."

"But in the whole world, no one can be the supervisor this time."

"The recommender is the teacher who recommends the disciples to join the Taoism, but..."

He sighed with emotion and said: "That senior wants to accept a disciple, does he need anyone to recommend him?"

"Who else is qualified to recommend?"

This matter was serious. After Qi Wuhuo was taken to bathe, he was brought back again.

He once read Tantai Xuan's "Record of Becoming an Immortal". In that book, he also recorded the experience of Tantai Xuan being transferred to Taoism when he was young. Because it was an extremely important matter, he recorded it in detail, as if

The reason is that I am worried that I will forget the process and make mistakes when I recruit disciples to teach for me in the future.

Therefore, Qi Wuhuo knew that the first step should be to "lead the disciples in front of the great road, bow three times, and offer incense".

Then he wrote a jade book and said the following: I burn incense today to make offerings to the gods, the tenth-level supreme saints, the Jade Emperor, the Great Heavenly Emperor of Ziwei, the Great Emperor of Houtu, and the names of these gods and goddesses are written all the way to heaven.

Cao Difu, all powerful spirits, to show the solemnity of accepting disciples into Taoism.

After bathing, Qi Wuhuo was still wearing the blue shirt, but he had untied the straw rope that originally tied his hair, so his black hair kept hanging down.

The boy's black hair fell down to about his waist.

There was already a table in front of him. The old man was sitting opposite the table, while Qi Wuhuo was on the other side.

The two faced each other across the table.

There are only three fragrant plants in the middle.

The old man stroked his beard and asked with a smile: "Can you know the rituals without confusion?"

Qi Wuhuo nodded, he exhaled slightly, and under the guidance of the man, he invited three pillars of fragrance, then he picked up the pen, dipped it in the golden ink, paused, and wrote on the white paper, just like Tantai Xuan

Like that back then——

"Now burn incense and make offerings..."

The old man just glanced at it, laughed and said, "Wrong writing."

Qi Wuhuo picked up his pen and looked at the old man. The old man pointed at the words on the white scroll and said, "It's not an offering."

"This is where [report] is used."

Qi Wuhuo picked up his pen and wrote "Advice to the Gods".

The old man added: "You, you, you don't need to be so polite at this time. It's just a ceremony. There is no need for such red tape."

The old man wrote lightly:

"A warning is enough."

Qi Wuhuo slowly exhaled a breath, started writing again, and finished writing the jade book.

The old man stroked his beard and said: "Keep everything simple and don't have to make it too complicated. I'll do it for you."

He looked at the man next to him.

The man smiled and cupped his hands and said:

"Senior, you have your destiny, how dare you refuse?"

"But since it is such a solemn matter, it would be a bit disrespectful for me to dress like this."

He is now wearing the clothes that common people often wore when they went to farm. Because it is easy to work, the trouser legs are quite short. However, when encountering serious matters, people in the world will also change into more serious clothes, so this person who looks simple and honest

The man rubbed his hands and said with a smile: "Speaking of which, I didn't expect that I would have such a fate, and I didn't prepare in advance."

"It's really rude. My wife just made me a new one."

"Please allow me to change my clothes and come back."

After a while, he came back.

He also changed his clothes, it looked like a Taoist robe, but also looked like a warrior's battle robe.

Wearing a mysterious crown on his head, combat boots on his feet, a jade belt around his waist, and a brocade robe, he is exquisite. The lower part is embroidered with the sceneries of mountains, rivers, and all living beings, and the upper part is the pattern of the second of the Xuanwu Seventh Station of the Twenty-eight Stations, the brilliant stars, the Brahma and the Sanskrit.

On top of the clear sky, the brows are shining, and the spirit is majestic. It is just like the second star king among the seven stars of Xuanwu comes to the world, just like the bull god of bullfighting comes to earth.

He asked Qi Wuhuo to stand in front of the incense table and scroll, and said with a smile: "I never thought that I would be the one to do this."

So he asked Qi Wuhuo not to move.

He personally took off his worldly clothes, even his shoes, and burned them with fire.

Only a white long coat was left underneath.

Then he asked the woman in green to bring the tray, take off her simple shoes, and said with a smile: "Put on your shoes first."

The old man put the fly whisk on his arm and said gently:

"You should walk on tiptoe and stay away from the six worlds forever. Even though enlightenment is far away, it still begins with a single step. This step is the first step."

"May you devote yourself to the Tao and practice the spiritual altar."

Fu said calmly: "My disciples who wear these [skin shoes] will not go into evil places or enter the places of demons wherever they travel."

"Always attend Dharma gatherings and walk through the immortal steps."

The man called another woman in green clothes over and took out the hydration suit that was mainly blue and white. This outfit was different from the ordinary Taoist robes. It was more concise and elegant, chic and calm. It was divided into upper and lower garments. First,

He took out his lower garment, wrapped it around his waist, and let it hang down.

He also took the Yunxiu from the Shuiyun suit, first tied the inner garment with arm guards, and then put on the wide Yunxiu with watery cloud patterns.

Gently cut off the clouds and cut them into legal robes.

The upper part is lined with a silk scarf, and the lower part is a garment that governs the flying sky. This is the garment of the middle way, which cannot be separated from the body for even a moment.

Finally, there is the blue burqa. It is originally very wide and hangs down to the knees. I took a five-color silk ribbon and tied it around the waist. It is simple and elegant, and has the feeling of a heroic young man.

The old man stared at the young man in front of him, watching him take off his ordinary clothes and stop wearing a white undershirt.

Wearing Taoist shoes, Taoist uniforms, cloud sleeves, and silk ribbons, in the end he turned into a handsome young Taoist priest.

The old man's expression was gentle and he said: "The clothes are the same; they are united by the group, and they are grouped with Taoist friends, and they are united by purity."

"The top is clothing, the bottom is clothes; the top is heaven, and the bottom is earth. The Taoist walks between heaven and earth."

“Only by being impartial can we be right.”

"My disciples who wear this robe and can walk on this path will have no disasters. They will be protected by all saints. All evils will not be invaded. All evils will not be close. They will be able to eliminate the evil fate of the three lives and enable the nine ancestors to be saved."

The man next to him was slightly shocked and looked at the old man. He never thought that the delivery this time was more solemn than the previous ones. Even the ox that was slowly eating the young rice shoots was stunned and turned around.

What he saw immediately was a scene that caused the scalper, who had been lying down, to stand up and become speechless.

!!!

The man turned around to take the crown, then turned around and was stunned, his eyes widening.

The young Taoist stood there quietly, it was he who should have been crowned.

But the old man's palm gently touched the young man's head and said with a smile:

"Is this considered [the immortal caressing my head, tying my hair and receiving immortality]?"

He waved his hand towards the man over there, and the latter stepped back cautiously. The old man gently arranged the young man's hair, and suddenly said with emotion: "Wu Huo is not even tall enough."

Qi Wuhuo said quietly: "Yes, after the Chinese New Year, I will be fifteen years old."

"Haha, let's stop wearing the crown first."

"Let's put on the hairpin first."

The old man laughed and tied up the young man's hair himself. Then he took an unusual wooden hairpin and fixed his black hair.

It's just such a simple action.

The girl didn't know why her father and Uncle Niu were so shaken, and even their expressions changed.

It was just an old man tying up a young man's hair.

It’s just a hairpin.

Finally, the old man took out the jade slip and said with a gentle smile: "Husband's slip, use simple things as words and concentrate your mind and thoughts for use."

"My disciples should uphold it, and should uphold it, observe it, gaze at the stars, pay homage, and consecrate it to the truth, so that it can be the glory of Tao and Dharma, and serve as a model of etiquette for humans and heaven."

"Do you know?"

"yes!"

Qi Wuhuo wore Shuiyun clothes, with hanging cloud sleeves and a black hairpin, and then solemnly took the jade slip with both hands.

The old man stroked his beard and said calmly:

"Mysterious and mysterious, the door to all mysteries is called Tao."

"Looking at it but not seeing it is called barbarian; hearing it but not being known at all is called Xi; fighting at it but not being called it is Wei."

"These three cannot be questioned, so they are mixed into one. The upper part is not bright, the lower part is not unclear. The rope is unnameable, and returns to nothingness. This is called the form of formlessness, the image of nothing."

"Come into my door."

"Dao name - Xuanwei!"

"The jade slips of your name are written on the jade slips, and your body is covered with rosy clothes!"

"To summon all spirits to supervise, the five emperors will prove it!"

!!!

The last sentence made both the man and the scalper change their colors.

Supervised by all spirits, witnessed by the Five Emperors?!

With just one word, it seemed as if he could go up to Tongtian Cao and go down to the underworld. There seemed to be changes between heaven and earth.

ps:

The ritual is based on the most orthodox one, "Tai Shang Monk's Preaching Ceremony", which is originally published in the Orthodox Taoist Canon, Zhengyi Yi, Kejiwei Rituals.
