Chapter 17 Black Crow Tavern

Constanta, dock area, Black Crow Tavern.

I don’t know since when, a pub suddenly appeared in the most remote corner of the dock area. At the end of the dead end, the front door is not big. There is only a small door for one person to enter and exit. The sign at the door is even smaller, and there are no neon lights or the like.

Eye-catching decoration.

This tavern appeared so suddenly and stayed silently in an unnoticed corner. The door was almost always deserted. If it weren't for the occasional doorbell opening and closing, which reminded that there was still a lot of people here, it would be almost like a haunted house.

.

The business of the Black Crow Tavern seems to be quite poor. If you are lucky enough to open the door and walk in, you will find that except for an open space in the middle with a few small wine tables, the rest of the space is divided into small

Each room has a thick soundproof door. Once the door is locked, no one can know what is inside.

Apart from the strange single room, the most eye-catching thing about the tavern is the owner lying on the bar, soundly asleep. This middle-aged man in his early forties wearing a ridiculous apron has a bright head, and not even a single hair can be seen.

There wasn't even a single lint on it, it looked like it had been rubbed with tung oil and polished with emery cloth.

He claims to be the boss of Black Crow, but just like no one knows when Black Crow opened, no one knows what the name of this old bald man is. Regular customers all call him the boss, and occasionally some people call him by his name.

For Black Crow, such guests will usually be led directly into an airtight single room, and will also be received by the boss himself.

There are very few customers in the Black Crow Tavern, and it is difficult to imagine that these few customers can support the business of this tavern. But the owner, Black Crow, has never worried about this, and is as open-minded as if he has no shortage of money.

He is always cheerful, always standing behind the bar talking and laughing with regular customers or simply sleeping soundly, looking open-minded and living his life without worrying about anything.

To be honest, this is very unreasonable. Because in the Ottoman Turkish Empire, selling alcohol requires a license, and not everyone can sell alcohol, because alcohol is strictly prohibited for people.

According to its teachings, people must strictly abstain from alcohol. Drinking is an original sin!

But the question is, how many men don’t like alcohol? The more discrimination is prohibited, the more fatal the attraction will be. So smuggling and brewing private wine has become an unspoken rule. Later, the Turkish government also knew that relying on

Prohibition makes no sense at all, so we simply opened the door and allowed non-Japanese people to make and sell alcohol, but they would be heavily taxed.

A public bar like the Black Crow Tavern requires a business license. This thing is very expensive, and you have to pay an annual fee.

If the Black Crow Tavern had relied on that small amount of business, it would have been closed down for ten or eight years and would never have been able to stay open.

But this tavern has continued to open, and the owner can still live happily. This is simply a miracle.

Of course, this world is not purely about miracles. All miracles are man-made and have reasons. The so-called miracles are just that you are kept in the dark.

At least Li Xiao knew why the Black Crow Tavern could continue to exist. Kornilov told him that the Black Crow Tavern was a low-class tavern on the surface, but in fact it was the intelligence and black market of Constanta. The owner Black Crow once

He served in the Russian army and was once a colonel.

After the victory of the Greek War of Independence, Black Crow returned to Greece to serve as an official. However, he had conflicts with the pro-British faction and was ostracized and had to leave his hometown again. After that, he opened the Black Crow Tavern in Constanta and used his developed network as an intermediary.

Second-hand dealers make a living.

"This person is an old friend of mine. Generally speaking, he is quite reliable. He has collected information for us over the years, but his personality is a bit weird and extreme. You'd better not irritate him, and keep a few more people when dealing with him.

Mind you, this guy has a special evil taste that really makes people speechless..."

Kornilov did not say what evil intentions the black crow had, but it was probably very bad if it made Kornilov look like he was constipated.

Jingle bell, jingle bell.

As the door is opened and closed, the doorbell makes two crisp sounds. Generally speaking, an enthusiastic waiter or the boss will come to greet you personally.

But that was an ordinary shop, and the Black Crow Tavern was very unusual. Li Xiao stood at the door and saw no enthusiastic waiters. Except for the bald owner who was sleeping and snoring with a bottle of wine on the bar, there was no one in the bar.

It's as deserted as a haunted house.

Li Xiao looked around and found that there was absolutely no such thing as a waiter. He walked towards the bar. The owner was still there anyway.

"Ahem!"

Li Xiao looked at the sleeping bald man. He was completely unconscious, so he had no choice but to raise his voice and cough twice more.

"Ahem!"

But it was still of no use. The other party slept soundly and snored like a bellows, which was so intense.

In desperation, Li Xiao could only knock on the table.

"Boom!"

The bald boss moved and seemed to be awake, but he had no intention of raising his head. He just took out a hand and pointed at the wine cabinet behind him and shouted:

"Pour yourself any wine you want, it's the old rule!"

Li Xiao didn't know what the old rules were, not to mention he wasn't here to drink, so he had to knock on the table again.

"Why are you making such a fuss! Didn't you see me sleeping? If you want to drink, pour it yourself!"

Li Xiao was greeted by a burst of rude curses. Because he was not familiar with Turkish, Li Xiao could not understand the various popular names that were too vulgar and related to certain organs of men and women, but the general meaning was the above.

.

"Are you the boss?"

Although Li Xiao was basically sure that the swearing bald man was the person he was looking for, he couldn't just say that he was Kornilov's man right away.

"Huh?"

After the bald man let out a light sigh, he finally raised his head. He squinted his eyes and looked at Li Xiao for a while, and said directly:

"Unfamiliar face, never seen it before!"

Then he waved his hands impatiently and said with a look of disgust: "We don't accept little brats with hairless hair here. If you want to drink for two years, get out now!"

Li Xiao was speechless for a while. He was a little short for his height, but he didn't have such a tender face that his hair didn't even grow. The guy in front of him did it on purpose, just to despise his size.

If he were in Russia, Li Xiao would have to say hello to the bald man if he had no choice but to let him know that the short man also has dignity. But unfortunately, he had to keep a low profile, so he could only hold back his anger and said dullly:

"Kornilov asked me to come to you!"

This time it was the bald man's turn to be surprised. He let out another sigh, looked at Li Xiao again, and asked, "What evidence is there?"
