Chapter 252 Mr. Right Prime Minister

There are three questions in policy theory.

The first question: Based on the current situation of the Jiangdu Army, what strategy should be used to seize the world?

Boluo Buhua thought for a long time, his eyes brightened, and he quickly wrote: The Mongolian nobles should be reused! In this way, as long as the war goes smoothly, everyone in the Yuan court will see the benefits of joining the Chu army, and they will join together, and the world will be at your fingertips!<

Second question: If you were asked to govern a place, how would you govern it, and what would you value most?

Polo Buhua was overjoyed. He had experience in governing local areas. Although he had not governed well before, his group of civil servants also talked a lot.

He immediately wrote: As a parent and an official, you should put the people first and yourself first. You must not be greedy for pleasure or indulge in wine and sex! You should build more bridges and pave roads, dig canals and open fields. You must not accept bribes or collude with officials and businessmen...

He used his former self as his counterpart and wrote more than two hundred words eloquently. He felt that this question and answer was particularly good.

He raised his head and looked around, and saw many scholars across from him holding their hair and showing expressions of hard thinking. They were obviously stumped by the policy, and couldn't help but feel even more proud.

Question 3: If you were given a better grain and vegetable seed, how could you quickly promote it under the rule?

Polo Buhua frowned, what kind of weird question is this? Why are you asking about grain and vegetable seeds?

After thinking about it for a moment, Bo Luo Buhua remembered that Zhang Yangquan had dedicated some special vegetable seeds to him, and thought that he must be from a farmer's background, so he valued this more.

So he wrote: Post a notice on the city wall and order people to read it day and night to let the people understand that it is a crime not to change the grain type. Then send civil servants to investigate. If any people do not cooperate, arrest them and imprison them for a few days as a warning.

Follow suit!

At this point, the policy theory is finally finished.

The following are Tie Jing and Mo Yi. Tie Jing is to select some sentences from the classics and history, cut out some of them, and let you fill them in.

Mo Yi is to describe the relevant facts and meanings in the classics according to the requirements of the test questions.

Although Boluo Buhua crammed for a few days, after all, there were too many classic collections, and he still couldn't answer many of them. The scriptures were half empty, and many of Mo Yi's answers were random.

At noon, some civil servants came over to bring food and drinks. Each person had two meat buns and a bowl of vegetable soup. After finishing the meal, Polo Buhua turned around and started writing poems.

After thinking about it for more than an hour, I managed to compose a seven-character rhymed poem, but I couldn't even speak of neat dialogue. I finally managed to make sure that the sentences had definite characters and the words had definite sounds!

With only the last hour left for the exam, Polo Buhua turned his attention back to the Scriptures.

It's useless no matter how much Mo Yi thinks about it, but Tie Jing is different. Maybe he can think of one or two in a flash.

In the end, until the gongs and drums sounded at the end of the exam, Polo Buhua still couldn't come up with a scripture question, so he had to hand in the test paper.

After leaving the Imperial Academy, Polo Buhua waited for a long time before King Xining walked out.

The two discussed it for a while, and both felt that only the policy answer was good, and the poems, scriptures, and Mo Yi were not very satisfactory.

Fortunately, there are two more subjects at the back, especially archery. Both of them are Mongolians. They have learned riding and archery since they were young, and they are confident that they will not lose to the Han people.

Early the next morning, the two of them came to the Imperial College early.

As soon as the drum beat, the clerk in the examination room began to hand out arithmetic test papers. When Polo Buhua picked them up and looked at them, he was stunned.

I saw a picture of a mountain in the first question.

Question 1: As shown in the picture, to measure the height of this mountain, two poles three feet high are set up near the foot of the mountain. The two poles are a thousand steps apart. Stand at the pole and step back 123 steps. You can see

Go to the top of the mountain. Stand at pole 2, step back 127 steps, and you can see the top of the mountain. Ask about the height of the top of the mountain and the distance between pole 1 and the foot of the mountain!

Polo Buhua wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. He thought that arithmetic was just about calculating some simple increase and decrease problems, but he never expected it to be so complicated.

Looking down, the next two questions were also measurement questions. Polo Buhua secretly cursed the question officer, and continued to look back, finally seeing a normal question.

Question 4: There are fifty refugees entering the city today, and it is necessary to build temporary huts for them to live in. The large hut can accommodate six people, and the small hut can accommodate four people. How many construction plans are there in total?

Polo Buhua was stunned for a long time, and skipped this question while cursing and chattering.

The following questions are getting more and more outrageous, including construction calculation problems such as building dams, digging ditches, measuring fields, building warehouses, etc.

Polo Buhua couldn't answer a single question, so he just lay down on the table and slept.

I don’t know how long it took, but I finally heard the drumbeat of the end of the exam. Polo Buhua left the Imperial College and had lunch with the King of Xining at a nearby tea stall.

The two of them were indifferent and both did poorly in the exam, so they didn't say much.

In the afternoon, it was finally the two's strengths. They both ran at amazing speeds on horseback, and hit the target in archery. They were a little worse in running, but they were still better than most people.

At this point, the imperial examination was finally over, and the candidates left the Imperial College one by one, some dejected, some in high spirits.

Boluo Buhua knew that his math test was too bad, so he was afraid that there was no hope this time, and he was in a very bad mood.

At this moment, King Xining suddenly pulled him and said: "Brother, look over there, isn't that your former princess?"

Polo Buhua was stunned for a moment, then turned around and saw Cai Han. She was standing next to a carriage on the street, looking eagerly here.

Polo Buhua was about to go over to say hello when he suddenly heard a burst of shouting coming from behind.

"Get out of the way, get out of the way quickly, don't block Mr. Lu's way!"

Polo Buhua didn't even have time to turn around, so he was pushed aside.

Turning around, I saw a group of scholars walking out of the Imperial Academy surrounded by a young master. There were actually people clearing the place in front of them.

King Xining was also pushed away, looked up at the group of people, and muttered: "Who is that person? It's so grand?"

Polo Buhua hummed: "How could I know!"

A scholar next to him said: "I don't even know Mr. Lu, it's a good thing you two are still educated!"

Polo Buhua glared and said: "What kind of female master, male master? Do you have to know him after reading the book?"

The scholar glanced at him sideways and said, "Listen up, Mr. Lu is Mr. Lu's son, Lu Xun. Mr. Lu, you guys should know it, right?"

Polo Buhua hummed: "Is it the right prime minister named Lu Liangzuo?"

The scholar said with respect on his face: "Yes, Xianggong Lu is not only the prime minister of our Chu Kingdom, but also the leader of the Southern Scholars Circle. You all should show some respect to me!"

Polo Buhua curled her lips and looked at Lu Xun.

At this time, I suddenly saw another group of people pouring out of the Imperial Academy, surrounding another young master.

The two groups of people stood at the door, vaguely threatening to confront each other.

Boluo Buhua's face darkened, and he pulled Xining Wang and said: "Cousin, let's go!"

It turns out that the young master is Guo Huan.

Guo Huan is now the Shaoyin of Jiangdu Prefecture. Logically speaking, he does not need to take part in the imperial examination.

However, before the examination started, Zhang Yangquan suddenly issued an order that all officials under the age of 25 should also participate in the imperial examination, but they would not be included in the admission quota.

Zhang Yangquan did this in the hope of alerting his young officials, letting them know that there are still stronger people among their peers, and preventing them from becoming arrogant at a young age.

Logically speaking, Guo Huan is young and mature and will not easily conflict with others.

However, Lu Xun was very smart since he was a child and had a famous father like Lu Liangzuo, so he developed a wild temper.

After he came to Jiangdu, he opened a book club and gathered a group of young scholars who often gathered together to comment on the general trend of the world.

Sometimes after drinking too much, I can't stop talking.

Once when they were talking about King Zhennan and Princess Zhennan Cai Han, Lu Xun was very contemptuous of Cai Han and called her a model of shameless women.

Guo Huan was very angry when he learned about it. He and Cai Han were already engaged and were getting married at the end of this year. Naturally, he couldn't tolerate Lu Xun being rude to Cai Han.

So I asked Lu Xun to meet and ask him to come and apologize.

Lu Xun originally looked down on his uncle and nephew from the Guo family, and he was the son of the right prime minister. If he apologized, wouldn't it mean that the right prime minister was afraid of the left prime minister?

So he flatly refused and ended up having a grudge with Guo Huan.

It happened that Zhang Yangquan was about to hold the imperial examination, so the two made an appointment to determine the outcome based on the examination results.

If Lu Xun loses, he will apologize to Cai Han. If Lu Xun wins, the matter will be over!

Now that the imperial examination was over, Lu Xun felt that he was sure of victory, and smiled at Guo Huan and said: "Guo Shaoyin, you should have done well in the exam this time. Don't worry, as long as I lose, I will come to the door to apologize to Miss Cai!"

Guo Huan only glanced at him, said nothing, and walked towards Cai Han on the street.

……

PS: The two arithmetic questions are from "Island Arithmetic Scripture" and "Jigu Arithmetic Scripture" respectively.
