Chapter 10 Infighting

On the winding official road from Fuzhou to Quanzhou, a carriage meandered along.

Suddenly, dozens of masked men holding sharp knives sprang out from the woods on both sides and surrounded the carriage.

"He Lao'er, your time has come. When you get to the underworld, don't blame me. If you want to blame me, I can only blame you for offending someone you shouldn't have offended," the leading masked man shouted sternly.

The curtain of the carriage opened, and an old man with a wide mouth, thick eyebrows and bright eyes, wearing a net scarf and three strands of beard floating under his chin slowly got out of the car.

This old man has a majestic aura about him.

Looking at the leader of the thief, the old man was as calm as ever: "I know what you want to get, and my ears are no better than others."

After saying this, the old man untied his neck protector, stretched his neck, and calmly waited for the thief to chop him off.

There was silence, and the group of thieves were shocked. After a long while, the leader of the thieves praised: "What a court. Big brother asked me to take your life. I respect you as a man, so I will just cut off one of your ears."

The sword flashed, and the old man's left ear was dripping with blood.

The perpetrator was Yang Geng, the brother of Pinglu Marquis Zheng Zhilong and a member of Shibazhi. The victim was He Kai, the censor of Zuoqiandu in the Longwu Dynasty.

The cause of the incident is very simple: it was too hot, and during a court visit, two brothers, Zheng Zhilong, the Marquis of Pinglu, and Zheng Hongkui, the Marquis of Dinglu, fanned themselves in front of Emperor Longwu. This was a big deal in the Ming Dynasty, and He Kai

Indignant, he impeached the two brothers Zheng Zhilong for "having no courtesy".

Soon, He Kai was ostracized by Zheng Zhilong brothers and had to retire and return home.

Zheng Zhilong ordered someone to kill He Kai on his way back home. Hence the scene just now.

"Zheng Zhilong bullied me too much!"

With a bang, Emperor Longwu Zhu Yujian dropped his cup in the Fuzhou Palace.

Emperor Longwu was also a famous emperor of his generation. He had suffered many hardships and had worked hard to govern since he took office.

He lived a simple life, even the dragon robes were made of homespun cloth; he had political vision and sent people to recruit the remaining troops of the invaders; he rectified the administration of officials and fought against corruption and promoted integrity; he loved the people and once issued an order to say, "Those who have hair will be obedient people, and those who have no hair will be refugees."

Officials at all levels took good care of the refugees who had fled from the north. When the news came out, the whole country was erupting in joy, calling our emperor a saint. He also vowed to fight for the Northern Expedition, to restore Nanjing as a half-effort and to restore Beijing as a full achievement.

However, the powerful minister Zheng Zhilong is here.

Emperor Longwu ordered the Northern Expedition to regain Nanjing. Zheng Zhilong sent his troops to travel to the border between Fujian and Zhejiang and returned. Emperor Longwu wanted to rectify the administration of officials. Zheng Zhilong said yes, you can deal with people who are not mine, but you can't touch any of my people. Emperor Longwu

To rescue Jiangxi, Zheng Zhilong said that I have no soldiers, so just let Huang Daozhou go. He forced away the great scholar Huang Daozhou. Emperor Longwu wanted to recruit some guards, but Zheng Zhilong said, why do you need so many soldiers? Five hundred people are enough.<

And so on.

"Your Majesty, take care of your dragon body. Some things cannot be rushed." Empress Zeng looked at the white hair growing on Emperor Longwu's temples and rubbed his temples for Emperor Longwu with distress.

"Alas! Queen, you are right, it was me who was fooled." Looking at the miserable wife beside him, the great emperor regained his composure.

"Come here and announce my decree. I will give Zheng Sen, the son of Pinglu Marquis Zheng Zhilong, the national surname Zhu and successfully change his name. Tell him that I only wish I didn't have a daughter to marry him. Let him be loyal to my family and never forget each other."

….…

Shaoxing, Zhejiang, Lujianguofu.

Lu Supervisor Zhu Yihai had a headache, and the ministers quarreled again.

After Emperor Hongguang was captured and King Lu surrendered to the Qing Dynasty, Dorgon, the regent of the Qing Dynasty, believed that the general trend of the world had been decided and ordered everyone to shave their heads, which aroused anti-Qing anger in various places.

The folk customs in eastern Zhejiang are fierce, Zheng Zunqian, Chen Zilong and others raised troops in Shaoxing; Wang Jiaqin, Zhang Mengxi, Hua Xia, Lu Yu, Mao Jikui, Dong Zhining, Sun Jiaji, Qian Sule and others raised troops in Ningbo; Qing Dinghai Commander Wang Zhiren also led troops; Ming Commander Fang Guoan also led troops Meet.

Eastern Zhejiang was restored. But a snake could not survive without a head, so everyone recommended Zhu Yihai, King of Lu, to supervise the country.

Originally, Zhu Yihai was so heroic that he once planned to attack Hangzhou first, then occupy Nanjing, and pay homage to Xiaoling Mausoleum, so that he could make an immortal contribution and compete with Emperor Longwu for the throne.

As a result, before setting off, the ministers below started arguing.

Zhu Yihai's army is divided into two parts, Fang Guoan and Wang Zhiren, each with more than 10,000 soldiers. This part is the regular army; there are also about 100,000 rebels, known as the Forty-Eight Towns.

If so many armies united to deal with the Manchus, they might really be able to capture Hangzhou.

But Fang Guoan and Wang Zhiren didn't think so. In order to sideline Lu Jianguo and monopolize power in the small court in eastern Zhejiang, they colluded and came up with a bad idea. They called their regular troops regular soldiers and received regular pay, that is, Xidong Normal taxes; calling the rebels volunteers and receiving free wages means not paying them and letting them raise donations from the squires themselves.

Now, the leader of the rebel army quits. We drove away the Qing soldiers in eastern Zhejiang, why don’t you two pay us?

So, we quarreled.

It was messy, very messy. One moment Qian Sule pulled Fang Guoan's hair, the next moment Wang Zhiren kicked Zheng Zunqian's butt, and the next moment Zhang Huangyan started a fight.

Lu Supervisor Zhu Yihai has a headache...
