Chapter 235 Attacking Zhejiang (4)

"Headquarters, in front of us is Daqushan Island," Deputy General Hu Maofang said to Wang Shen, the commander-in-chief of the Wusong Navy of the Qing Dynasty with a flattering smile.

Hu Maofang was originally General Huben who was granted the title of Lu Jianguo, and he knew the water conditions in Zhoushan area well.

Emperor Shunzhi engaged in "using Han to control Han", and the great traitor Hong Chengchou gained power and was awarded the title of Governor of the five provinces of Jiangnan (South Zhili), Zhejiang, Fujian, Huguang and Jiangxi.

Hong Chengchou knows how to employ people. As long as he wants to be a traitor, he will be given an official position. Those who are incompetent will be given false posts, and those who are capable will be given real posts. This time he sent a group of capable traitors to Zhoushan.

Needless to say, Wang Shen, an expert in water warfare, had 20,000 people in his department, and selected 10,000 of the best to go to Zhoushan, while the rest stayed behind in Songjiang to look after the family.

The two naval lieutenants, Hu Maofang and Chen Dezhi, both defected from Lu Jianguo and were very familiar with the water conditions and terrain of Zhoushan.

The four land division generals can also fight.

Li Benzhen, the commander-in-chief, was originally a high-ranking general and was good at fighting.

Wang Fuchen, the commander-in-chief, was originally a surrendered general from Jiang Xiang, nicknamed "West Road Horse Harrier". Not only was he good at fighting, but he also liked gambling and spent a lot of money without changing his face. After Jiang Xiang failed, he was taken into the Xin Zhe Treasury as a slave. He left Hong University. After leaving Shimen Road, Xianyu turned over and became the commander-in-chief.

Acting Commander-in-Chief Fan Shaozu was originally the Commander-in-Chief of Wenzhou in the Ming Dynasty. This man knew the current affairs. In the third year of Shunzhi, the Qing army went south and other Ming Dynasty officials deserted. He simply went to the city to hang up his post and shaved his hair to follow the Qing Dynasty.

Lieutenant General Liu Yingjie is also brave.

Hearing that Daqushan Island was ahead, Wang Shen nodded and ordered to prepare for a sneak attack. Because there were traitors leading the way, the several small islands in front, including Tanhushan Island, Xiaoqi Island, Daqi Island, and Yangshan Island, were all Being attacked by surprise, the Ming army on the island didn't even have time to light the beacon fire.

After the main force of the Ming army went to attack Ningbo, only 10,000 defenders were left on the Zhoushan Islands.

The defender of Daqushan Island is General Zhaowu Tian Dekun with 700 troops.

Hu Maofang and Chen Dezhi led 60 warships and 100 troop transport ships to Daqushan Island, intending to land secretly.

This time, the sneak attack was unsuccessful. Tian Dekun posted a sentinel on the top of Daquan Mountain to see clearly.

"Quick, light the beacon!"

Tian Dekun ordered that as soon as the bright beacon light was lit, Daishan Island, Wengzhou Island, Zhoushan Island, Putuoshan Island, and Luojiashan Island were all on alert.

When Wang Shen saw this, he no longer concealed his whereabouts, and led more than 200 ships to follow Generals Hu and Chen, heading for Daqushan Island.

Seeing so many ships, Tian Dekun's men were timid and said, "General, there are too many Tatars, withdraw!"

"Evacuate? Where to evacuate? Our families are all in Zhoushan, are you not afraid of injuring your family?"

Tian Dekun summoned his seven hundred subordinates and lectured: "Brothers, has His Highness Prince Jing ever defaulted on our military pay?"

"Never!"

"Is the pension for soldiers who died in battle generous?"

"Rich!"

Tian Dekun yelled: "In that case, what else is there to say? As a soldier, we have the responsibility to defend our land. This is where we will be buried!"

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

The Dqushan Island Fort fired at the Qing army and sank several small boats.

The Qing army landed, and Liu Yingjie led two thousand infantry to attack Daqu Mountain.

Daqu Mountain is known as the "Overseas Fairy Mountain", and its highest peak, "Tian Deng Ding", is only over 90 feet high.

The Ming army's fort was located on top of the sky lantern.

"Kill!"

Liu Yingjie led his troops and rushed upward with the shield in hand.

"Bang! Bah! Bah!"

The Ming army's gunmen began to shoot.

Standing down from a high position, shoot down a group of people.

After all, there were many Qing troops, and they swarmed up in dense numbers.

Tian Dekun sneered, "Fire!"

The twenty tiger crouching cannons in the fort began to fire. There were not many Qing troops who had just rushed up, so these cannons were hidden and unused. They waited until the enemy's large troops came up before firing.

"Boom boom boom!"

Shots fell into the dense crowd one after another, sweeping away a large area.

The Qing army was frightened. Some people rushed upwards, while others fled downwards, and their formations were scattered.

Tian Dekun led two hundred warriors to take advantage of the situation and kill them down the mountain. Liu Yingjie saw that the situation was not good and fled.

Fan Shaozu led 3,000 Qing troops to land, but still could not capture Daqu Mountain.

Li Benzhen and Wang Fuchen also landed and were about to attack the mountain again.

Navy Vice Admiral Hu Maofang spoke: "Commander, generals, Na Tian Dekun and I have an old relationship, and I would like to go and surrender."

They do have an old relationship. One is General Huben, who was granted the title of Lu Jianguo, and the other is General Zhaowu, who was granted the title of Lu Jianguo. They used to have a good relationship and often ate and drank together.

Wang Shen thought for a while: "The general can just shout under the fort, but don't enter the fort."

"Brother Tian Xian, you have been surrounded. Please surrender. The Qing Dynasty will promote you to the rank of commander-in-chief."

When Tian Dekun saw it, he saw it was Hu Maofang and was furious. This traitor betrayed his friends for glory. His hands were stained with the blood of the rebels and he wanted to lure him into the fort and kill him.

"It's Brother Hu. How do I know whether what you just said is true or false? To show your sincerity, please come into the fort and explain it in detail."

"I also wanted to enter the fort to reminisce with my dear brother, but the commander refused. Please forgive me, dear brother." Hu Maofang was extremely cunning and refused to enter the city.

Tian Dekun called over five gunmen, "You aim at that guy, I'll call for shooting, and we'll shoot together."

Hu Maofang was still trying to persuade her to surrender and try to make friends. She even told him about getting drunk with Tian Dekun and visiting brothels.

Hearing this, Tian Dekun shook his head repeatedly.

"Shoot!"

With a roar, "Bah, bah, bah, bah," and five gunshots, Hu Maofang was shot into a bloody man and fell down.

Li Benzhen and Wang Fuchen were furious and led their troops to attack the mountain. The Qing navy also used huge cannons to bombard the fort.

None of Tian Dekun and his 700 subordinates surrendered. After killing and wounding more than a thousand enemies, they all died heroically for their country.

After the war, Zhu Hengjia named Tian Dekun the Marquis of Dinghai and erected a "loyalty monument" on top of the sky lantern to commemorate Tian Dekun and his 700 subordinates.

He personally wrote the inscription:

The age of the year is Xinmao, and the barbarians are in the law. The sun is scorching, the grass and trees are rustling, the wind and clouds are changing colors, and the world is mourning. Dinghai Houtian Dekun led 700 soldiers to fight with the Tatars and rested here. The public died, but Ming Zuo survived.

The clothes and hats are restored. For thousands of generations, the hero's name will be immortal.

(Note: 1651 is the year of Xinmao, and Yi means July)

Later generations also called this monument the "Seven Hundred Warriors Monument".

??

Seeing how brave the defenders of Daqu Mountain were, the commander of the Qing army, Wang Sui, let out a long sigh: "I'm afraid it's not easy to get down on Daishan Island!"

Chen Dezhi said: "Don't worry, Commander. When I was under Lu Ni in the past, I had an old relationship with the Daishan guard Dingyuanhou Shi Zhongfang and the Kaiping general Jiang Junxian. One of them was greedy for money and the other was lustful. They are not worth mentioning.

.The only person who can fight on the island is Commander-in-Chief Ruan Mei. As long as Ruan Mei is defeated, Daishan Island will be at your fingertips."

Daishan Island is garrisoned by Shi Zhongfang, Jiang Junxian's 1,600 land divisions and Ruan Mei's 1,000 naval divisions.

Hearing that the Qing army was attacking, Ruan Mei led 20 bird boats and a thousand naval troops to attack the Qing army. Like his brother Ruan Jin, he was also a famous brave general in the Ming army. He defeated the masses with a small number and was not afraid.
"This Ruan Mei is so brave, she dares to fight with me even with twenty ships," Wang Sui praised.

"Commander, the Ruan brothers are all like this. They are brave and foolhardy. Back then, his brother Ruan Jin dared to attack Zhang Guozhu's more than 100 ships with four ships and won by luck. So he likes to attack more with less. You might as well

Fake defeat, then encircle and destroy him." Chen Dezhi proposed a plan to Wang Sui.

Wang Sui praised Ruan Mei's kindness and ordered twenty ships to fight Ruan Mei. He pretended to be defeated and lured her deep into the formation. He also ordered fifty ships on each side of the left and right wings to surround Ruan Mei.

Ruan Mei didn't know what the plan was, so when she saw that the Qing ships in front were defeated, she pursued her and gradually fell into a tight siege by the Qing army.

The roar of cannons finally stopped, and all twenty of Ruan Mei's ships were sunk.

The Qing army took advantage of the situation and landed on Daishan Island.

"Kill!"

Li Benshen jumped on his horse into Shi Zhongfang's barracks and stabbed Shi Zhongfang under the horse with a spear. He was surprised to find that there was a carriage parked in the barracks, filled with gold, silver and jewelry.

"Hurry, get on the boat." Jiang Junxian pulled his concubine onto the boat and wanted to escape to Zhoushan. Wang Fuchen chased her and killed her with a knife.
