Chapter 44 The wolf’s head is on the chest

At the training ground of Winterfell, the trainer Ser Rodrik Kelso held a sword against a wooden stake to demonstrate attack skills. Theon Greyjoy, Jon Snow and Robb Stark were three and a half sizes.

They all wore black breastplates with wolf head patterns engraved on them, and they were holding unopened training swords and learning the movements of their instructors.

Two girls, Asha Greyjoy and Sansa Stark, had just finished learning needlework and could only stand on the second-floor walkway beside the training ground and watch.

"Ha!" "Ha!" "Ha!"

"Aren't you full? Use all your strength!" Rodrik said loudly: "The enemy will not let you go just because you have no strength!"

"I've been practicing for two hours, when will it end?" Xion asked.

Jon answered, "My hands are so sore that I can hardly lift them."

Xion is the oldest and has a more lively personality. He usually talks the most.

"What about you, Robb?"

Robb Stark didn't answer. He suddenly stopped swinging his sword and stood there, looking up at Theon and Jon.

"My badge is vibrating!"

After hearing this, the trainer Rodrik Cassel came over to check, and Theon and Jon also walked to Robb's side.

The emblem on Robb's chest is the same as the family totem. It is a direwolf head. Everyone is usually envious of it, but they are just envious and have no other ideas. This was made by Wirt, the chief mage of the kingdom, and given to Robb. It is made of Valyrian steel.

It is a valuable decoration. But they never knew that this badge could vibrate, and they were all surprised.

The badge vibrated more and more loudly, making a crisp "ding-ding-ding" sound when it stuck to Robb's breastplate.

Robb stood there at a loss. When his father Eddard gave the badge to him when he was a child, he only said it was a Valyrian steel decoration. It was just beautiful and he never said it could be moved.

"I'm going to find the Duke, Theon, you two, watch out for Robb." After speaking, the instructor Rodrik Cassel immediately ran into the inner city to find Ed.

The "ding-ding-ding" sound of impact continued, and the badge kept vibrating. Robb stretched out his hand to grab the gray-black wolf head badge.

"Don't!" "No!" Jon and the other said.

Robb's hand caught the badge, and nothing dangerous happened.

Eddard Stark came out with the instructor, followed by Maester Luwin. When Robb saw his father coming, he let go of his hand, and his badge clicked against the breastplate again.

Eddard looked at Robb, took the badge in his hand and said:

"When Vet Baratheon gave me the badge, he said that it would vibrate when there is magic power fluctuation near the badge. It also vibrated when I held it in my hand for the first time, but it never moved again.

I thought I didn’t care if the badge was broken, I just said it was a decoration.”

Everyone felt relieved, it turned out that the badge had this function, but Ed had forgotten it.

"But the badge is not broken now, which means there must be magic fluctuations nearby."

A guard came over on horseback, dismounted, saluted Ed, and said:

"Two carriages were found outside the city heading towards Winterfell. The pattern on the carriage flags was a crowned stag on a gold background with a flame on the deer's head."

The guards didn't recognize the flag, but Ed and the others did.

"A few weeks ago I received a letter from King Robert. He said that Veidt Baratheon would visit the North. I didn't expect it to arrive so soon." Ed took out a smoky black pocket watch from his arms and looked at it habitually.

Time.

Maester Luwin: "Every time we go back and forth between King's Landing, we take the King's Road, but taking the fast boat from King's Landing to White Harbor will take much less time."

Witte's reputation has spread all over the country, even to the Eastern Continent. At the age of 11, he went to the battlefield, destroyed the city with magic, and killed dozens of enemies. At the age of 12, he served as the chief mage of the kingdom and participated in the imperial meeting. He was also awarded the honorary university by the school city

The title of knight. However, some people still think that magic is nonsense, and it is King Robert's excuse to give money to his younger brother.

Several boys and girls were very excited to meet the legendary magician.

Steward Vayan Poole proposed:

"Do I need to prepare for the ceremony? He is the king's brother and the minister of the Royal Council."

"No, I know Vit Baratheon quite well. He used to show off wherever he went, and he often didn't even have a bodyguard by his side."

"Not even a bodyguard?" Robb was surprised. He had been taught since childhood that every noble must have a bodyguard to ensure honor and safety.

"The guards he brought with him may in turn ask him to protect the guards. Let's go. You guys go change your clothes and tell your mother that a guest is coming. We can just go to the door to pick him up." Ed said.

After that, he called everyone back to the castle.

Werther sat in the carriage and looked at the scenery along the way.

The Northern Territory is very large. The Valley, the Western Territory, the Royal Territory and the Stormlands combined are almost the same as the Northern Territory. However, the climate here is too cold. Except for the Wolf Forest and the other two large forests, the entire Northern Territory has no other places.

There are very few wild animals and woodlands, it is all grassland, and the population is not large.

It was not until the agricultural innovation initiated by Witte a few years ago that bachelors from all over the north began to lead farmers to reclaim wasteland. Now there are more farmlands, mills and hotels along the roads in various places.

Winterfell has a longer history than Storm's End. According to legend, it has a history of more than 8,000 years. It was built directly on a natural hot spring. Living there is more comfortable than other places in the north. It has been owned by the Stark family since it was built.

The fortress, the weather is good today and there is no snow, so I can see the whole of Winterfell clearly.

The entire castle occupies a very large area with many towers. There is also a village outside the city for farmers to live in. The two-layer thick city wall isolates many different living areas, training grounds, gardens and commercial places in the city. Officials from the northern border

Thousands of soldiers and wealthy knights lived here.

The inner city is where the Stark family holds meetings and lives. There are also hot water pipes that deliver warmth to each room. The ancient heating and ventilation system is a combination of ancient and modern times.

The original ancient clock tower in the city was replaced by a huge clock with hands and clocks under the promotion of the city a few years ago.

Not long after, Onion Knight Davos and his son entered Winterfell in a carriage. The guards in the city had received the news and led the carriage directly to the gate of the inner city to stop.

Werther jumped out of the car, and his thin golden noble robe was blown up by the wind, which looked out of place with Ed and his thick winter clothes.

"Duke Eddard!"

"Witt, aren't you cold?"

"I'm in good health, but my wife Nymeria and her sister Tyene are sick. They are Dornish people and are very uncomfortable with the weather here."

Nymeria and Tyene were wearing thick clothes. Wert went over to help them both get out of the carriage slowly. Tyene was holding a teddy bear in her hands. The two pale faces looked at Ed with dull eyes.

Salute.

Several children behind Ed also saluted. They knew that it was obviously not the right time to talk and seemed very rude. Asha and Theon looked at Werther with evasive eyes. They had seen Uncle Vic who was frozen into an ice sculpture by Werther before.

Talion.

Werther felt the necklace on Robb's chest, and the white light on his hand lit up. He pushed the lock of the internal mechanism of the wolf head necklace, and the wolf head emits a burst of white light and stopped vibrating.

When everyone saw this, they realized that it was Werther who had turned off the vibration of the necklace, not that the necklace was broken.

"This is the Onion Knight Davos Seaworth and his sons. I specially asked them to be responsible for my journey."

Davos took several of his sons to salute Ed. During the Labor Rebellion, the two missed each other and never met until the victory of the war, but they went to the battlefield together during the war against Greyjoy.

Say hello to each other.

At first, Ed thought that these people were grooms hired by Werther. The main reason was that Davos was ordinary-looking, thin, and wearing a thick winter coat and a hat. Ed did not recognize him at all. This was also the talent of a smuggler.

A public face.

Ashara jumped out of the carriage with a "Hey". She was also considered a Dornish person, but she was still energetic. It was probably Ed's blood that played a role. She was wrapped in a black fur coat and wore a white long-haired hat on her head.

Wrapped like a rice dumpling, only the black hair and two sword hilts are exposed from the back of the neck.

"This is my mage apprentice, Ashara Dayne." Witte introduced to everyone, mainly Ed.

After Ashara said hello, Ed looked at Ashara speechless for a while, but Werther reminded him with various small actions.

"Go in and warm yourself first. My wife, Catelyn Tully, is asking the maids to prepare dinner." Ed was a little flustered and quickly called the guards to bring over crumbled bread and fine salt.
