Prologue (short)

The first year of Jianyuan was the year when Liu Che, the seventh emperor of the Western Han Dynasty, ascended the throne.

In the evening, the lead clouds were thick.

In Pingyang City, even the air seems to be filled with a heavy and gloomy atmosphere.

In the magnificent Marquis Mansion, Pingyang Marquis Cao Shou, the great-grandson of the founding father Cao Shen, sat in the main seat with a gloomy expression.

Next to him is Princess Pingyang, Liu Che's sister, who has a graceful temperament and good looks, but also looks unhappy.

"Have you given birth?" Marquis Pingyang said indifferently.

"Not yet, I guess it will be soon." Princess Pingyang's voice was filled with obvious anger.

The two of them were talking about having a baby, and it was her maid Wei Shaoer.

The birth of the child in her belly was not legitimate. It was the result of an affair between Wei Shao'er and Huo Zhongru, a minor official in the county.

The maid had an affair and gave birth to a child, which made Princess Pingyang angry. Not only was she embarrassed in appearance, but the maids in her house were all carefully selected. She had already made arrangements for these maids, and they were mostly used to win over the heroes.

The expensive chess piece was unexpectedly caught halfway by a petty official, disrupting the plan.

Having an affair with a maidservant has ruined her prestige as a princess.

She was also very disgusted and hated the illegitimate son of her maidservant who was about to be born.

"What do you plan to do after the baby is born?" Pingyang Hou asked again.

"My maid secretly conspired to give birth and ruined my reputation. Of course I can't keep him." Princess Pingyang said coldly.

Servants are equal to the private property of their masters, and as Princess Pingyang, a single word can determine life or death.

The unborn child is obviously in danger.

Marquis Pingyang raised the corner of his lips: "That child is insignificant to us, but it is a life after all. It is better to keep him. Maybe he will be of some use in the future."

Princess Pingyang said disdainfully: "Useful? There are not enough servants in the house. Could it be that there is a shortage of such a lowly servant? Keeping him will only bring shame to me. Do you think that I still have something to rely on him?

I will never tolerate him."

At this time, a loud baby cry was heard deep in the mansion.

Soon a servant came to report: "The child was born...it's a boy."

Princess Pingyang stood up suddenly and walked to the back house.

When she came down to a courtyard in the back house surrounded by her servants, there was already a figure waiting for her outside the courtyard door.

This man is tall and has a calm gaze with tenacity. He is a riding slave in the mansion and the half-brother of Wei Shaoer who gave birth to the child, Wei Qing.

"Please, Princess, please keep my nephew alive. Wei Qing will surely get retribution." Wei Qing said steadily and firmly.

For some reason, when Princess Pingyang saw him, her eyes softened and her anger was greatly restrained. She pondered for a long time and sighed slowly...

Boom!

Suddenly there was thunder in the sky, which seemed to indicate that the newly born child would leave a bright light that would illuminate the entire era.

Time flies, the sun and the moon alternate, and many cold and summer days pass in a blink of an eye.
