Chapter 4 Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty

Weiyang Palace, also known as Purple Palace or Ziwei Palace, means the palace of the human emperor.

It is located on the Longshou Plain in the southwest corner of Chang'an, which has the highest terrain. It is generally rectangular and has high walls on all sides.

The front hall is the main building, where the emperor conducts government affairs and handles major world affairs.

On a sunny morning, in the hall flanking the front hall, sitting in the main seat was a middle-aged man who was not tall, but had broad shoulders, and an imposing manner like a mountain. He wore a high crown and had deep eyes.

His face has sharp edges, a high nose bridge, and a rectangular face. Wearing an imperial robe decorated with red patterns, he is the emperor Liu Che.

Sitting behind a low seat not far to his left was a beautiful woman with exquisite facial features, wearing a long purple Hanfu skirt and a palm-wide apricot apron.

This woman's skin is as white as fat, and her hair is long and eye-catching. Above her small, rounded ears, there is an exquisite pearl and jade hairpin inserted diagonally in her bun.

She has a charming face with oval seeds and smart almond eyes. She also behaves calmly in front of the emperor. She sits behind a low seat with a straight waist. Her complicated and gorgeous skirt shows tight and slender legs. The part below the waist is too excessive.

The skirt is high-rising, creating a rounded arc. Under the skirt are sky-blue shoes and white socks embroidered with cloud patterns.

This girl's name is Liu Qing. She is the youngest daughter of the late Emperor Liu Qi and the half-sister of Liu Che. For some reasons, she left the palace at a young age and only returned two years ago to reenter the palace.

"I want to come and ask Your Majesty to issue an edict to stop asking for marriage to those clan members. I don't plan to marry yet." Liu Qing's voice was gentle, but his meaning was straightforward.

Liu Che held the musical note in his hand, reading it ten lines at a time, and said calmly:

"Given your status and appearance, there will naturally be many suitors for you after returning to the court. Why are you so resistant to marriage?"

Liu Qing had a good time: "I have practiced a Taoist technique of closing one's mind. At least until the technique is completed, I cannot marry a man. I hope your majesty will make it happen."

Liu Che was noncommittal.

When Liu Qing was about to speak, a servant came in from outside and reported, "Your Majesty, Shizhong Huo has arrived at the palace gate in response to the imperial edict."

"Announce him to come in."

Someone came to meet and discuss matters. Liu Qing was going to leave and come back at another time. Unexpectedly, Liu Che said again: "You should also stay and listen."

Outside the main entrance of the front hall of Weiyang Palace, there are three long bluestone paths running parallel to each other.

Huo Qubing was busy at the Lieutenant's Mansion of the Northern Army for most of the night. After dawn, he went home and had breakfast. After changing his clothes, he came to the palace to see the emperor.

The soldiers and horses outside Weiyang Palace were solemn and solemn, and the Han Imperial Guards responsible for guarding were wearing armor and carrying strong momentum.

Huo Qubing had often been in and out of the palace since he was a child, and all the imperial guards stationed there knew this young emperor's minister.

He came outside the palace, said hello to the stationed generals, and then walked into the palace gate.

The cat he raised jumped out of nowhere and jumped to the eaves of the city wall, trying to follow the palace.

A soldier guarding the battlements of the inner wall saw a cat trying to break into the palace gate. He was about to drive it away, but was stopped by another soldier beside him:

"This cat is a spiritual beast given to Huo Shizhong by His Majesty. Your Majesty has given you permission to enter and leave the palace. Otherwise, why would we and so many soldiers and generals here turn a blind eye to it?"

The soldiers who were about to take action were surprised. It turned out that this 'cat' had a backstage.

The big cat seemed to have heard the discussion of the two soldiers. It swung its tail and looked back. A hint of arrogance flashed across its shining jewel-like eyes. Then it jumped from the palace wall, displaying a domineering aura that no cat could match, and disappeared.

Behind the palace wall.

The corridors and eaves of the Weiyang Palace are all made of fragrant and precious magnolias as rafters, and elegant apricot wood as beams and columns. The roof rafters are covered with gold foil, and the facade is inlaid with jade ornaments of different patterns.

The entire Weiyang Palace uses a large number of thousand-year-old giant trees, which is spectacular and magnificent.

In front of the main hall, there is a slope on the left side, which can be used by cars, and steps on the right side, for people to climb up.

After Huo Qubing entered the palace, he thought about the changes brought about by the ancient well of knowledge while walking.

The book of war and five auras including Soaring Snake appeared in the well.

These changes are strange and bizarre. What is the well?

I originally thought that the main function of the ancient well was to increase my spiritual practice. Every time it appeared in my dreams, the breath it released helped me a lot.

Now it seems that this well is obviously more than that simple.

The real meaning of Fa Teng Snake can allow you to enter that special state of insight into all things and the spirit of transcending shackles.

According to ancient books, the Soaring Snake is a fairy beast that can soar into the clouds, ride on the mist, and fly without feet.

In the astrology of the Yin Yang family, Teng Snake is considered to be one of the twelve heavenly generals, living in Si, in charge of terror and terror.

This coincides with the manifestation of Soaring Snake, which can use its mind to project fear.

"Huo Shizhong."

Huo Qubing's thoughts were interrupted by a voice.

In the front hall of Weiyang Palace, a minister came over quickly.

This minister's name is Dong Xu, who is the emperor's attendant. He is in his early forties, has a fair face, and is wearing dark-colored chamberlain uniforms.

"Excuse me, Mr. Dong." Huo Qubing greeted him.

The two have known each other for a long time.

Dong Xu then suppressed his voice and said: "Earlier, there was news from the north that the Huns were defeated by the general years ago. They are so angry that they are dispatching all the troops under their control. I am afraid that there will be another war soon.

I know that Huo Shizhong has little ambition and wants to fight on the battlefield. If I tell him, Huo Shizhong will be prepared.

Complete the tasks assigned by His Majesty as soon as possible, and Huo Shizhong will have the opportunity to lead the army if there is no chance of fighting the Northern Hungarians again next time."

Huo Qubing smiled. When working around the emperor, there will always be some hills.

Daily exchange of messages is a routine operation.

When he arrived at the door of the inner study room, Dong Xu stopped.

Huo Qubing walked into the palace on his own and saw Liu Che who was reviewing the memorial.

This emperor, who was renowned for future generations, sat by the window with a focused expression and a majestic bearing.

Sitting on the low mat next to her is Liu Qing, who is as beautiful as flowers and jade.

Huo Qubing had been walking in the palace for many years, and he didn't see the princess often, but he left a deep impression on her.

After all, she is a woman with a mind that is different from ordinary people. Compared with the scale of other little lotus flowers, she can be described as a huge lotus leaf rising and falling with the waves.

After all, Liu Che is Huo Qubing's uncle, so he and Liu Qing are also related by marriage, making them a generation younger.

Huo Qubing entered the hall and saluted, then walked to another low seat at the lower end opposite Liu Qing and sat down on the Vajra, with his legs together and straight, and his upper body upright.

Normal Vajrasana is with the buttocks pressed on the straight feet. Huo Qubing's sitting method is slightly different. There is still a distance between the buttocks and feet, but they can not move at all, which requires extremely high strength in the waist, abdomen and legs.

He regarded the time spent sitting cross-legged as spiritual practice, taking the opportunity to exercise his body's core strength.

Liu Che put down the memorial: "Have you gone to Liu Huai's house to see it?"

His tone is mellow, giving people a very powerful listening experience, just like the deepest xylophone playing.

"Yes, Liu Huai is dead. I have found clues and are making progress now," Huo Qubing said.

"Including Liu Huai, four court officials have died successively. This matter needs to be investigated as soon as possible."

"I have noted it down."

Huo Qubing continued: "I have one more thing to do when I enter the palace. Your Majesty had previously ordered me to select a patrol team and they have returned.

According to the directions on the scroll given by His Majesty, they found a secret cave in the Bashu Snow Mountain, which is suspected to be the Nine Immortals Cave recorded in the ancient scrolls."

"Tell me in detail." Liu Che looked at Liu Qing.

He had already anticipated Huo Qubing's report and asked Liu Qing to observe it, which was related to this.

Huo Qubing said eloquently: "The team that traveled was ostensibly to inspect the southwest border defense, but in fact it secretly entered the Bashu Snow Mountains, wandered around the mountains to explore, and indeed found what His Majesty wanted!"

After saying this, he took out something from his sleeve and handed it over.
