The eighth chapter of the grievance, the soul of the dead

I only saw a black shadow rushing toward me. I was horrified and subconsciously took a step back, grabbing at the black shadow with both hands.

I was really caught. It felt like fur. I opened my eyes and took a closer look. I was surprised to see that it turned out to be a huge mouse.

I saw this mouse open its mouth wide, revealing a few sharp teeth, and its small eyes were actually glowing with green light. It opened its teeth and claws at me, it was very cruel!

I felt nervous and hurriedly let go and threw the mouse to the ground. Unexpectedly, nothing happened to the mouse after it was thrown to the ground. After getting up, the mouse ran into the grass and escaped.

As a result, as soon as it ran to the grass, it was nailed to the ground by a flying wooden sword. For a moment, the mouse was like a mosquito that had been swatted to death, with blood splattering everywhere. It was horrible to see!

I turned around and saw that Uncle Huo was still swinging out the wooden sword. My heart moved. This little old man was quite handsome when he was serious.

"This rat is the culprit that gnawed on the corpse of Mrs.

Uncle Huo explained calmly.

"That's a mahogany sword, right? It has natural spiritual power to suppress evil spirits..."

"How do you know?" Uncle Huo asked, but he didn't seem surprised in his tone.

"Aunt Liu told me this. She often told me this when I was a child."

Uncle Huo nodded, picked up the peach wood sword, and urged:

"Okay, it's getting late. Let's carry the body and get ready to go down the mountain."

I took a deep breath, carried Old Mrs. Xue’s body on my back with Uncle Huo’s help, then glanced at the ghost of Old Mrs. Xue that was frozen not far away, and asked:

"What to do with this ghost?"

Uncle Huo did not answer, but took out a bell from his backpack, walked up to the ghost of Mrs. Xue, muttered something, and a few seconds later suddenly shouted:

"rise!"

After saying that, he strode forward and raised his right hand high to ring the bell gently.

"Jingle Bell…"

There was a crisp ringing of the bell, and Old Mrs. Xue's ghost body trembled, and she slowly moved her steps to follow her!

I looked at this scene with dumbfounded eyes, and it suddenly dawned on me that this was probably what he meant by attracting souls.

Then he shook his head, no longer thought about it, and followed closely behind him with the body on his back...

I don’t know how long I walked, but I finally returned to the cemetery at the foot of the mountain. I was out of breath and sweating profusely.

Uncle Ho led the ghost to the coffin where I slept before, then stopped ringing the bell, looked back at me, and said with a grin:

"Hehe...it's not bad, my physical fitness is not bad."

"Stop laughing, come and help me, I can't hold it anymore!" I said angrily.

Uncle Huo came forward and slowly put the body into the coffin with me. Then he uncovered the white cloth on the head of the ghost of Old Mrs.

, and the expression on her face is no longer so ferocious.

Old Mrs. Xue looked at her body and burst into tears. I found that the tears flowing from her eyes turned into small transparent beads after falling on the ground, which looked very familiar.

My heart moved, and I suddenly remembered the transparent beads corroded by my blood at the fortune-telling stall, which were exactly the same as this one. I finally understood that these were ghost tears!

Looking at Mrs. Xue who was crying, Uncle Huo sighed:

"Although you have deep grievances, I see that you have not killed anyone or made any big mistakes. Your body has been relocated by us, and we will rebury it in front of you..."

Old Mrs. Xue twitched her body and didn't care what to say. Uncle Huo didn't waste any more time. After finding a relatively good place in the cemetery, he asked me to dig the grave again.

After digging, Uncle Ho gently covered the face of the corpse with the white cloth from before. Then we closed the coffin lid, carefully placed the coffin into the grave, and finally backfilled it with soil.

Mrs. Xue stood there and watched us busy. I secretly observed her during the process and found that although her face was still as pale as paper, her sinister look was completely gone. She looked like a normal old lady. She even looked like a normal old lady.

Somewhat kind.

Uncle Huo looked at her,

"Okay, another day I will erect a monument for you again. Dust will return to dust, dust will return to dust. It's time to let go of all obsessions..."

Mrs. Xue bowed her head to the ground in front of the two of us and said in a trembling voice:

"Thank you, Master, for your help. I had no children and lived alone. A few days ago, due to continuous rain, my house suddenly collapsed. I can't remember why I didn't run out in time. As a result, I was crushed to death! The villagers!

They despised me and buried me in a hurry. The resentment in my heart could not be wiped away, so I accumulated resentment..."

Having said this, Mrs. Xue raised her head and glanced at me,

"On the Ghost Festival, I was calling for ghosts on the street, trying to find a companion on Huangquan Road, but you happened to be passing by, so I caught up with you..."

After listening to Mrs. Xue's story, I couldn't help feeling sad. It turned out that she was also a miserable person.

Uncle Huo also sighed.

"Okay, now that you've let it go, you can go on your way with peace of mind..."

As he said that, Uncle Huo handed me a blank magic talisman. I subconsciously took it and said doubtfully:

"What's the meaning?"

"Come and save her."

"What? Am I being saved?" I asked in surprise.

Seeing Uncle Huo's serious face, which didn't look like he was joking, I waved my hand quickly and said:

"Stop joking? I don't know magic, how can I be saved?"

"As long as I say yes!"

After saying that, he pulled my hand over without any explanation, then cut his fingertips, used my blood to write a rune on the talisman, and warned:

"Although you don't know spells, your blood can lead the way. This is how to draw the soul charm. I will only say the spell once. Listen carefully..."

Uncle Huo didn't care whether I could remember it or not. He told me the spells at once, pushed me out like a duck, and then put his chin on his hand as if he was watching a good show.

"Don't make fun of me, I really can't..."

"Young man, you can do it..."

Mrs. Xue suddenly said meaningfully.

I was extremely helpless. Although I knew that nine times out of ten I would fail, I didn’t know why, but I still had a glimmer of hope in my heart!

"Anyway, Uncle Huo is here, it doesn't matter even if you fail!"

Thinking of this, I took a deep breath, strode forward and nodded to Mrs. Xue, then threw the soul attracting talisman above my head and read aloud:

"On the verge of receiving the destiny, the soul is led back to the underworld. The love of the past life is gone, and the origin of the future life is the origin. The edict is issued to everyone. It is urgent to be reincarnated. It is difficult to go to hell. Have a good journey, Mrs. Xue!"

After reciting the incantation, Mrs. Xue's soul turned into a shadow and got into the talisman. The talisman seemed to be attracted and floated towards the north of the night sky until it disappeared.

Just when I was surprised, Old Mrs. Xue's shout suddenly came from the air:

"Arch Mage, I remembered, it was a painting that killed me! A painting!!!"
