231 Prepare for the wedding when we come back

A lot of vegetables are grown in the yard at the foot of Zhongming Mountain, and Mr. Chi is serious about producing and selling them himself.

After leaving people here, the old man took Uncle Li to change clothes and prepare to pick vegetables for cooking. He watched the old man go out to the yard.

Mu Qian pulled him over and said, "You did it on purpose."

The old man's misunderstanding just now was obviously intentional on his part. It caused such a big mistake as soon as they met. He may not know how he will look at her in the future.

"We haven't had a girl in our family for so many years. He doesn't know how to get along with a little girl. If I don't push him, he won't say a word to you until we leave."

Chi Si knew the old man's temperament very well, so he had to think of a way.

"Let's go out to help." Mu Qian pushed Chi Si out.

Sending two old men to pick vegetables in the vegetable garden in freezing weather is really unworthy of their descendants.

Chi Si was very obedient and walked into the vegetable field through the snow and took the vegetables handed over by the old man.

But after seeing the people around him clearly, Mr. Chi suddenly said, "What are you doing in here? Get out quickly and don't trample my vegetables!!"

With serious disgust, Mu Qian stood on the steps and almost laughed out loud when she heard what the old man said.

This is not necessarily what she thought.

"Get out of here quickly." The old man chased them away in disgust, but he didn't forget to add, "Be careful not to step on my food!"

Chi Si could only walk out of the vegetable patch obediently, but she brought the vegetables she picked to Mu Qian's eyes.

"Grandpa, let's help too." Mu Qian said to Mr. Chi.

Mr. Chi took the time to look at them and said in a soft tone, "You are not familiar with this place either. Let him take you to rest. Girls, it is better not to freeze."

The old man then looked at Chi Si, his tone suddenly became bad, "If you don't take her in quickly, don't come out and cause trouble for me. It took a lot of effort to raise her."

Mu Qian was honestly a little shocked when she saw this scene. After all, Mr. Chi had a good reputation, and his decisiveness in killing people in shopping malls had long become a myth.

It is really unimaginable that such a person can grow vegetables with his feet in the soil and devote himself to worshiping Buddha.

But since the old man gave the order, they didn't want to cause trouble, so Chi Si led Mu Qian through the door.

"Old man, I think you quite like this Miss Mu Qian." Uncle Li looked at the old man and said with a smile.

Otherwise, the old man would be willing to pluck the vegetables from the garden and cook them for Miss Mu Qian.

This is the old man’s treasure. This is the best-growing vegetable in the garden. The old man is so proud that he would never touch it.

"She is a very pragmatic little girl." Mr. Chi said.

He stepped on the soil with his feet and applied fertilizer without any objection. The wealthy ladies in the imperial capital were very squeamish.

It's pretty good to have such a little girl.

"Then what if she says the food you cooked is not delicious?" Uncle Li asked immediately.

The old man stood up straight and said, "When has the food I cooked not tasted good?"

Uncle Li silently shut up. He really didn't dare to compliment the old man's cooking skills. Every time he had either less salt or more salt.

The old man is a very good person in charge, but he is not suitable for working in the kitchen.

"I won't tell you, just watch the young master's behavior later."

Just seeing how much the young master likes Miss Mu Qian, he is probably reluctant to let her eat the food cooked by the old master.

For meals for four people, the old man made four dishes and one soup, purely vegetarian dishes. While the old man was busy, Mu Qian and Chi Si were picking the dishes.

Mr. Chi did not let the two children into the kitchen, and he and Uncle Li finished the cooking together.

Before eating, Chi Si took a wet wipe to wipe her hands. The man lowered his head and wiped her hands seriously, and told him very seriously.

"Don't feel sorry for yourself if you can't eat for a while. I'll take you to eat something delicious when I get back."

Chi Si had vaccinated her in advance.

After hearing this, Mu Qian looked back and saw that Uncle Li was placing the food on the table. Although they were all vegetarian, they looked pretty good.

"It shouldn't be too bad."

Chi Si pinched her face and pulled her to sit down at the dining table.

The dishes on the table are all vegetarian, and they are strictly non-vegetarian. The old man's ritual of worshiping the Buddha is a sincere gesture.

"These are common meals. You're welcome. Eat more." The old man looked at Mu Qian and said.

The old man used the chopsticks first. Chi Si sat next to her and slowly placed the filled water glass in Mu Qian's hand.

Under Mr. Chi's somewhat earnest gaze, Mu Qian took a bite of the fried vegetables, and the bitter taste on her tongue almost made her spit it out.

Seeing the person in front of him swallowing it expressionlessly, Mr. Chi asked, "How does it taste?"

Seeing the eager eyes, Mu Qian could only grit her teeth and said, "It's quite delicious."

Uncle Li heard Mu Qian say this before he could stop him. He subconsciously raised his forehead, thinking that it was all over.

The old man is very persistent. After he retired from the mall, he began to study cooking. However, after eating so many delicacies, he really does not have any talent.

So after Mr. Chi got into trouble with cooking, what he liked to hear the most was people praising the delicious food he cooked.

As expected, the old man had already started picking up food for Mu Qian.

Mu Qian looked at the food in the bowl. She suddenly regretted saying the word "delicious". Now that it was better, she felt that she couldn't help it.

"Don't look at him. Eat more." The old man said to Mu Qian, "The little girl looks too thin."

"Grandpa, have you ever seen that eating vegetables can make you grow meat?" Chi Si slowly put the vegetables in Mu Qian's bowl into his own.

Listening to his words, Mr. Chi was dissatisfied, "Although this does not produce meat, it is healthy. It is a pure green vegetable that is pollution-free."

The old man followed up and put a few more pieces into Mu Qian's bowl, not forgetting to warn his grandson, "Don't touch it."

Mu Qian finished the meal under the old man's care. Indeed, she really had to admit that Mr. Chi had no talent at all in cooking.

There were only five dishes, and everything tasted in her mouth, including sweet, sour, bitter, spicy, and salty.

Finally, when she was sitting on the sofa eating fruit, she felt that her tongue was no longer hers.

"Little girl, come and sit here more often when you have free time." Mr. Chi seemed to like Mu Qian quite a bit.

Uncle Li looked back and saw that being able to finish the old man's meal completely would not win his favor.

"I will come here often in the future, as long as I don't disturb you." Mu Qian said politely.

After Chi Si poured her juice, he went aside to answer the phone. Seeing this, Mr. Chi started asking Mu Qian.

"Little girl, tell Grandpa Chi honestly that you really like that boy and want to marry him?"

Mu Qian was quite surprised by this question. This was not a regular script.

Shouldn't the old man stare at her fiercely and start threatening, giving you 100 million to leave my grandson?

"This boy has been rebellious since he was a child. His parents passed away early, and the family is complicated. He was forced to grow up a lot. He is different from the gentle and considerate lover that many girls dream of. He may not understand girls' thoughts very well."

Speaking of which, in fact, Mr. Chi had already prepared for this boy not to marry for the rest of his life.

He never imagined that his grandson could be gentle and considerate.

"I've thought about it, I will stay with him for the rest of my life." Mu Qian said with unusual determination.

Seeing her look like this, the old man understood in his heart that it seemed that this little girl really liked his cold apprentice.

"This boy may not be too gentle and considerate, and may even have a bad temper. You should bear with it. It always takes time for two people to get along with each other. But if he is really sorry for you, don't hold it back. Tell me, grandpa.

I'll make the decision for you." Mr. Chi took a shot in the arm in advance.

Mu Qian smiled when he heard this and said, "Grandpa, he is very good to me and very gentle."

The old man only thought that she was speaking for Chi Si, but he really liked this little girl. She had no airs or squeamishness, and she seemed to be a sensible person.

"This is best. You are still young, and I will not force you to come in. As long as you relent and agree to marry him, I will come to propose marriage to the Yun family immediately without any delay."

The old man has also made a promise. Nowadays, young people fall in love and break up every three days. If you are unhappy, you can tell them.

He was very happy that his grandson had found a good family, but he couldn't force the marriage to be too obvious. After all, Mu Qian was still young, so what if he was scared away.

"Thank you, we will be very good. Not only does he recognize me, but I also recognize him. I will not marry anyone else except him." Mu Qian promised very solemnly.

Mr. Chi was stunned by these words, and he also understood that the two children had a good relationship.

Moreover, the tacit understanding between the two children was not an act. Chi Si really loved her, and the look between the two showed their sincere emotions without any falsehood.

"As long as you behave well." The old man said and handed over the gift that he had prepared a long time ago. "You girls should all like jewelry. See if you like this."

Mu Qian took it with both hands and opened it to see the extremely beautiful bracelet inside. One look at it revealed that it was worth a lot of money.

"This is a gift from our elders, we can't refuse it," the old man added.

These words blocked her way of rejection.

Upon hearing this, Mu Qian could only put the bracelet away.

"Thank you, I like it very much. This bracelet is very beautiful."

The old man nodded when he saw this, this little girl is of good quality.

The old man chanted sutras every morning and evening. After briefly chatting with Mu Qian for a while, the old man went to the room next to where the Buddha statue was enshrined to chant sutras.

Mu Qian held the bracelet and inspected it. It looked like it was old and well-kept.

Although Mr. Chi didn't look very gentle, he did his best to take care of her emotions.

"The old man gave it to you." Chi Si came over after calling and saw the bracelet in her hand.

Mu Qian nodded and shook the red envelope in his hand, "And this."

Chi Si saw her happy look and sat down next to her, "Being able to give this to you means that grandpa likes it very much. In the future, you will come to eat with him more often."

When Mu Qian heard the word "eat", she almost couldn't hold it back and could only control her volume and whisper.

"Can I skip the meal?"

Seeing her look, Chi Si raised his hand and gently pinched her earlobe, then stood up to say goodbye to the old man.

The old man who was concentrating on chanting sutras in the room heard the footsteps coming from behind and said something without looking back.

"There is a Buddhist scripture on the shore. You can take it back and copy it and send it to me before the fifteenth day of the first lunar month."

Chi Si looked down and said obediently, "I'm going to Beizhou, and it will probably take some time to come back."

If it goes well, it can be transferred back very quickly, but if it doesn't go well, it may not be easy to say later.

The old man didn't have much emotion, "Be careful yourself, the situation in the northern and southern states is tense now, others' lives depend on the northern state if they don't come back."

"When I first took over the Chi family, you told me not to lose the group. It's been so long, but you still don't understand me."

Once someone like him is provoked, life would be worse than death.

"Remember to copy Buddhist scriptures when you go back. I forced you to do it before, but now you should be willing to do it, even if it's for that little girl."

Chi Si raised his eyebrows, and after listening to the old man's words, he picked up the Buddhist scripture and read it a few times.

"When we come back, prepare for the wedding."

Someone has to go to the Yun family to propose marriage.

"Let's wait until the little girl agrees to marry you." The old man snorted.

I haven't let go yet, although the relationship is quite good.

Chi Si did not argue with the old man anymore, he just opened the bead curtain and walked out.

On the sofa, Mu Qian was talking to Uncle Li. Compared with the old man who didn't know how to get close, Uncle Li seemed to be much more naturally close to him.

Seeing him coming out, Mu Qian consciously stood up and went to his side.

"We are leaving now and will see you next time." Mu Qian said goodbye to the old man.

Uncle Li looked a little reluctant to leave. Finally, so many people came to this deserted courtyard. He really wanted the two of them to stay here.

"Should I go say goodbye to grandpa again?" Mu Qian asked Chi Si.

Isn't it rude to just leave like that?

"No need."

Chi Si led the man to the entrance. It was snowing heavily outside. He lowered his head and carefully arranged Mu Qian's scarf.

"Miss Mu Qian, please come here more often in the future. We will have a lot of fruits here in autumn." Uncle Li said following behind the two of them.

Mu Qian smiled and nodded, saying goodbye to the old man, "I will do it, don't worry."

Uncle Li stood at the door in the snow to send the people away and then returned to the house. The old man was still chanting sutras and did not come out.

He naturally sat down in front of the desk next to the old man, picked up a pen and started copying scriptures.

Over the years, tens of thousands of volumes have been copied one after another, but the old man is still obsessed with this matter.

Under the heavy snowfall, the small courtyard at the foot of the mountain was still brightly lit.
