tell the reader

The book has been open for more than a month, and more than 200,000 words have been updated in total. Many book friends have left valuable comments, support, encouragement, and of course criticism.

The main criticism centered on the slow pace.

First of all, Lao Zhuang admits that this criticism is to the point, and the pace of this book is indeed slow.

Secondly, after repeated consideration, Lao Zhuang decided to maintain the current pace and make some improvements in details as much as possible, but would not hastily speed up the pace and progress for the sake of progress.

There are two reasons for doing this:

One is personal.

Everyone has their own habits, and Lao Zhuang is no exception. If you force them to force you, it will only make you nondescript.

Maybe it’s because I’m older, or maybe I’ve thought too much, and I always want to write more deeply and carefully, so that readers can understand the cause and effect behind the events in history, instead of just having fun.

If you just watch the protagonist recruiting famous generals, beauties, and conquering the world without knowing anything about the real reasons behind the history, Lao Zhuang feels that this is buying a coffin for a pearl. It is fun for a while, but it will become boring if you watch it too much.

The second is the market.

Lao Zhuang has said before that the threshold for historical literature is relatively high, and it has been reduced from a major category that once shared the world with fantasy to a minor category. This is an inevitable trend.

If historical articles want to survive, they can only go in two directions. One is to go down and cater to the tastes of more mainstream readers. The other is to go up and create high-quality products and gather a group of readers who may not be large in number but are highly sticky.

Lao Zhuang cannot sink (he tried hard, but the results are obvious to all), so he can only strive to float.

To be honest, Lao Zhuang's literary skills are very poor. He was not an excellent author before, is not now, and is unlikely to be an excellent author in the future. It is not easy to create high-quality works.

But I can only choose this path because there are no other paths.

The road is very long, Lao Zhuang will walk slowly, as far as he can go, and I hope everyone will have some patience and support.

Today's cultural market is highly prosperous, and various cultural products are emerging one after another, all trying their best to attract readers' attention. It is difficult for slow-paced works to survive, but Lao Zhuang believes that sometimes, slowing down is also a necessary experience.

Therefore, for those readers who feel that the pace of this book is slow, Lao and Zhuang understand your opinions and thank you for your support. You can choose to be patient and continue reading, or you can choose to save it first and read it together when Lao and Zhuang have more.

Or try it again someday when there is a shortage of books, you may be pleasantly surprised.

To flatter myself, after accumulating a certain number of words, Lao and Zhuang’s books are still worth reading. If you don’t believe me, go read the old books.

Of course, you can also choose to abandon the book directly.

This is your freedom and your right.

I just hope that gentlemen will break up their friendship and not say anything evil.

Laozhuang
