Hello everyone, this is Andlao, your loyal friend who has not updated for 117 days.
The End of Embers was just yesterday. As soon as I opened my eyes and closed them, these 117 days have passed like this. Oh, why did time pass so fast? Why do I feel like my vacation has just begun! Why am I back to work again?
!This is not quite right!
Okay, just kidding, people still have to go to work, let alone people like me who feel uncomfortable if they don’t do production work for a day.
Let me first report to you what I have done in these 117 days.
Ahem.
Did nothing.
I suddenly realized that none of my messy plans were completed. Every day I just ate and slept, and basically never left the house. I was just like the hamster I raised.
I originally wanted to read some literary works to improve my literacy, so as not to be called illiterate by my roommate because of typos, and often be scolded "Do you really write novels as an illiterate?"
But unfortunately, I recalled it carefully, and it seems that I have not read a single book. If I must read something, I have finished reading the novel "Blessings for a Beautiful World". There is a saying, Mei
Gumi winner takes all.
Then I read a lot of comics.
Of course, comics are also comics that have nothing to do with writing, such as "The Dressed Gundam Fell into Gnaku", "Stupid Awei and Jack's Dance", "Even So, T34 Still Comes Over", "Sea of Alcohol", etc.
.
In short, whatever is missing is supplemented by everyone who understands it.
Fortunately among the misfortunes, I have not gained weight in these 117 days, and I have also lost a few pounds. I am very happy and happy to celebrate.
During the vacation, I actually experienced some things. It was like a roller coaster, whizzing by and fleeting. I won’t talk about it here. Instead, let’s talk about it in detail. Next, someone’s serialized work,
And some mental journeys.
In fact, this book was born while Ember was still being serialized. According to the display in the writer's backend, I created this book on March 16, 2021, which is almost 304 days ago.
Due to well-known reasons, Yi Yan has been in a state of making nonsense while writing. Speaking from the jokes I saw recently, I only know the plot half an hour ahead of you readers.
So in order to avoid this situation in the new book, I tried my best to make a complete and novel setting, as well as some plot outlines.
If Ember is an unlucky college student who puts on his underpants and parachute into the rainforest to survive in the wild.
So this book can be considered as a social animal that I have studied with Mr. Pei for at least two years, familiar with "Barefoot Doctor", "Fire Making, Catching Rabbits, and Building Houses in the Wild", and also brought a tool kit.
One word I ask for, stability!
Of course, I'll try my best.
Writing a book is something that goes against the grain, and it is normal to die halfway.
In fact, there are a lot of things I want to talk about, such as some of my thoughts when writing this book, but when talking about these, it will inevitably lead to spoilers, so I will save these words until the release or the end of the volume.
However, we can talk about the birth of this book. When I first came up with this idea, I was reading a novel about cultivating immortals. As I was reading it, I suddenly realized one thing. In fact, there is only one reason for the advancement of most stories.
roll.
If you are a master of the golden elixir, then I must be the same. If the Dou Zong master is so terrifying, then I must also become one.
Then I discovered that the driving force of involution can be applied to almost everything.
Let me mention here that there is a certain ghost that runs through almost all of my works. In the early years, the urban supernatural power that failed to pass the review was an innocent ghost who only lived in the public account.
I took a part of the setting of that book and wrote it into Embers. Now I dug up a large part of it and wrote this book. Together with the resentment of urban superpowers and the previously mentioned inner volume, it became
It inspired me to write such a story.
A group of superpowers are involved in each other and fighting each other. For this reason, they are willing to sell their souls to the devil just to destroy each other.
Under the gloomy and solemn city, the citizens lived a life they were accustomed to, but they did not realize that a secret war between superpowers was going on in the dark alley just a few steps away from him.
This city is where the characters live, and it is also a Colosseum.
Of course, the above is only information that has been emasculated by me to prevent spoilers. As an author who likes trick narratives and suspense, I still thought of a lot of ideas in this book to make the story more colorful.
While writing Embers, I also realized that I preferred writing about some narrow place, such as a city, to writing about the wider world.
Therefore, the main stage of this book is the city where the characters live. The normal world and the extraordinary world are superimposed to construct everything in this city.
The characters, like ordinary people, get up, wash their faces, brush their teeth, wear neat uniforms, gasp and squeeze into the subway together, and then walk into their respective office buildings or the Colosseum.
Both the normal world and the extraordinary world have their own order and operate steadily.
Then the theme is the title of the book, debt, and the corresponding one is the devil.
Speaking of which, I like the word devil very much. When my friend saw my original setting, he suggested that I change the devil into an evil god.
However, I feel that the evil god has a sense of superiority and is not equal to humans. But the devil is different. It is an existence that is absolutely equal to humans, but it is also full of unknowns.
This kind of equality can sometimes make people shudder, so I like this kind of character very much.
Then let’s talk about why this book is classified into this category.
I am a person who wants to try my hand at everything. Readers who are familiar with me should know that I took time out to try to write a science fiction short story, and I also wrote a Cthulhu short story during my vacation. However, due to energy constraints, after writing a plot,
It's over.
So I want to try out any style and type, and always write one thing. If people don’t get tired of it, I will feel tired myself.
But after thinking about it, I also felt that I couldn't step too hard, and I would tear my balls. After weighing the left and right, I became what I am now.
In fact, I have always wanted to write light novels! But my friends think that when I write stories, I always have a heavy feeling, which is not in line with the "lightness" of light novels, and it is too funny.
, it’s very fragmented.
So I didn’t consider light novels at first, I was planning on investing in the city.
But on the day when I was going to think about the classification, I thought about it seriously for a while, and I won’t mention the specific reasons. But remembering that I was beaten to pieces by the city before, I took a step back, turned left and right, and arrived at the light novel.
After all, the light novel is a basket, and it seems that you can write about anything. You can even write "The Practical Application of ZBrush and the Art of Tractor Maintenance" in the light novel.
Wuhu!
So, by various chances and coincidences, I completely fell into the arms of Du Gong.
Probably, this is what it looks like.
Then I would like to thank my friends who gave me suggestions during my preparation period, including Feng Yue, Mo Mo, Silent Gazing, Bai Mu Zhe, my editor Dragonfly, and the operations officer who helped me review the manuscript.
I'm really sorry if there are any omissions.
By the way, mention it again.
I have always felt that life is a very strange thing, but no one knows what will happen in the next life.
Just like you told me, who graduated a year ago, that I would write novels, I definitely didn’t believe it. At that time, I stubbornly got into conceptual art and thought it was my life’s career.
But this is what happened. Apart from the old man’s cell phone on the subway, I couldn’t show any other expressions.
The protagonist of this book is Borogo Lazarus.
When I was writing Embers, I felt that a name is a very important thing. It can be connected with the theme, setting, etc. of the story, so as to make the whole book appear more connected.
I thought about this for a long time, what should this unfortunate guy's name be?
The first half of the name is a play on the names of the protagonists of several books I wrote before, including some dark history. The second half is from high school, when I was watching "The Silent Crown" and a song was mentioned in the article.
There happens to be a certain lyric in it.
"Oh, Lazarus, how are you going to repay your debt?"
It had a metaphysical feeling, and I remembered it immediately. Many years later, when I was writing this book, all the worldview settings were almost the same. When it was time to give the protagonist a name, I suddenly thought of this, regardless of
Both the name and the meaning behind it fit the protagonist's setting and story very well.
Devil, debt, protagonist who comes back from the dead.
Thus the protagonist of this book, Borogo Lazarus, was born.
So I have always felt that writing books is like black box technology, very metaphysical. The same is true for life, and metaphysics is the end of it.
Then, the manuscripts of this book are currently very rich, and about 6,000 words are updated every day.
In the event of an accident, it will depend on the circumstances, and Andlao reserves the right of final interpretation.
Then, it’s time to go to work!
Groundhog, "Ah!!!!"
ps, this book was originally going to be called "Playing with the Devil", but it was too convoluted and a bit difficult to understand at first glance, so I changed it to "". The book cover must have a bug and it hasn't been refreshed yet. Let's just make do with it.
.
Of course, I also thought of some random names, such as "The Sublime Ones", "Aether Oath", "Debtors: Shadows Die Twice", "The Devil and the Electric Guitar How-to" blah blah blah.
