Chapter Fourteen The Lake

The monsters disappeared, the buzzers disappeared, and the energy fluctuations disappeared.

Pan Yue did not dare to move, and the people in the flower bed were silent. After a long time, the branches that tied Pan Yue were slowly loosened.

"This is the silent one. It determines the location of its prey based on the sound. Fortunately, it is full, otherwise this piece of crap wouldn't be able to satisfy it."

The people in the flower bed slowly sat up. It was Captain Han who was bargaining with the explorer at the market.

"Eat...are you full?"

"Well, that's the body you saw."

Pan Yue couldn't help feeling terrified when she thought of the tragic situation of the dead team member.

"Captain Han, thank you."

"It's a small matter, come and give me a hand."

Pan Yue then realized that Captain Han had been sitting in the flower bed for some reason, and hurriedly stepped forward to help him up. Pan Yue used the excuse of getting separated from everyone after waking up to explain why he appeared here alone.

"Boy, you're so lucky. You're wandering around here alone without encountering any danger."

Captain Han's tone clearly didn't believe Pan Yue's words, but he still talked about his own experience.

After the three of them took the lead to explore the road, it wasn't long before Wu Ling, the material worker at the end, was attacked by a predator. The other two were far away and did not notice it at that time.

The predator did not take action immediately, but just disguised itself as Wu Ling and followed him all the way. This behavior was not in line with the habits of predators. Usually their behavior is more brutal and reckless. Such caution seems to be under the instruction of other creatures.

However, the predator can only imitate the image of the creature it devours, and cannot communicate like normal humans. Captain Han soon discovered something strange. Although the two finally repelled the predator, Captain Han's right leg was also fighting.

He was injured. Another team member helped him to the park and wanted to rest for a while. Unexpectedly, he encountered the Silent Man again.

"There is something wrong here, something very wrong. Even the habits of high-level White Walkers can be changed. There must be some powerful power and conspiracy here."

Maybe they’re all here for me!

After listening to Captain Han's story, Pan Yue felt extremely guilty.

If he had not found the explorers to join them, these people might not have been implicated.

Captain Han didn't know Pan Yue's difficulties, so he smiled and patted him on the shoulder.

"Don't worry, let's go meet the explorer and Hu Lei. Even if I risk my life, I will protect you from the Mist City."

He closed his eyes tightly, and a wisp of breeze surrounded him, then drifted away into the distance. After a moment, Captain Han opened his eyes and pointed firmly to the left.

...

Pan Yue helped Captain Han walk while thinking about his next plan.

He seemed to have an innate ability to withstand mental stress, and gradually regained his will after experiencing a brief collapse and numbness in the basement.

He no longer wanted to be at the mercy of fate, and no longer wanted to be pushed along according to other people's plans. This time he decided to just do what he wanted to do - find the Book of Revelation and lead out Hua Tianming.

Pan Yue doesn't want to live in this person's shadow anymore, one of them must disappear from this world.

Suddenly, a burst of singing came to Pan Yue's ears.

Different from the murmurs that often tortured him in his mind, the song was clear and ethereal, echoing in the empty mist like a cry, as if singing a lament for the undead in this city.

He quietly glanced at Captain Han next to him, and saw that the other party was also looking at him in surprise. It seemed that this time it was not an illusion.

Captain Han opened the palm of his right hand, and a thick branch flew into his hand with a roar.

"Boy, thank you for your hard work. There may be danger ahead. Please walk behind me."

He was holding a branch with his right hand, and a light blue halo of light ignited in his left hand to protect Pan Yue behind him.

Lake, green lake.

There is a lake not far away that is shining with green light, tenaciously revealing a trace of life in this foggy city, and the clear singing is coming from the bottom of the lake.

"The explorer and Hu Lei are nearby, but..."

Captain Han listened intently to the sound of the wind, slowly raised his head, and then the expression on his face changed from confusion to horror.

Pan Yue followed his gaze and looked up, only to see two people floating in the sky, it was the explorer and Hu Lei.

Their eyes were closed tightly, and they were wrapped in a black gas and motionless. Their limbs hung down weakly, as if they had lost consciousness.

"Small......"

As soon as a word came out of Captain Han's mouth, he stopped. He saw a black beam of light passing through his body, and a bloody hole the size of a fist suddenly appeared on his originally broad and strong back.

This man who had experienced hundreds of battles and had extraordinary skills staggered slightly, then fell straight into the lake.

Pan Yue was stunned and speechless. He didn't even see the last face of the person who gave him a brief sense of security. He just watched the person disappear into the turquoise lake with a blank mind.

"You are so nosy that you almost ruined my life."

A familiar voice sounded behind Pan Yue, and hatred and anger instantly filled his brain.

He gritted his teeth and turned around to look. Hua Tianming was standing not far away with a disgusting cold expression. His right hand was raised in the air to control the two people who were still floating in the sky. There was still some black energy fluctuations left in his left hand.

"(a beautiful piece of writing)!"

Pan Yue cursed and frantically threw several light blue fireballs at Hua Tianming, but the other party just raised his left hand and eliminated the weak force of nature.

"Holy Son, doesn't this allow you to use black magic?"

Hua Tianming slightly raised the corner of his mouth to reveal a vicious smile, and then waved his right hand downwards.

thump.

"No!"

Pan Yue roared when she heard the sound of falling into the water and turned her head to look. The lake water stained red by blood still had a trace of ripples, but the explorer and Hu Lei had disappeared.

His sanity was completely eroded by anger at this moment, and a faint black energy emitted uncontrollably around his body.

A huge black spike shot out from under Hua Tianming's feet, but he was prepared for it and moved a distance to the side the moment he was about to touch it.

"I originally wanted the Silent Man to force you to use black magic, but I didn't expect that the man named Han actually saved your life."

Dazzling light burst out from Pan Yue's palm, and a huge black flame wrapped in the fierce wind quickly flew towards Hua Tianming, but the other party calmly drew a circle in the air.

The circle was half the size of the body, and the space within the circle seemed to be twisted and torn. The original foggy environment was only left with endless darkness, and the hellfire containing huge energy disappeared after entering it.

Immediately afterwards, Pan Yue felt a scalding heat wave coming from the top of her head.

He looked up and saw that the same black circle appeared in the sky, and the fireball he sent was falling vertically from it and hitting him.

Pan Yue quickly clenched her fists and teleported herself in front of Hua Tianming.

boom!

The fireball burned a depression on the ground that was no smaller than a meteorite crater, and Pan Yue strangled Hua Tianming's neck amidst the loud noise.

Hua Tianming's face, which had no choice, suddenly became even paler. He struggled to take a few steps back to get rid of Pan Yue's control, but his breathing became increasingly difficult.

After several failed struggles, Hua Tianming slowly raised his right hand and placed it on Pan Yue's chest.

As energy slowly surged in his palm, Pan Yue was suddenly ejected like an arrow from a string, and fell heavily to the ground. Pan Yue grimaced in pain for a moment and lost the strength to continue attacking.

"Holy Son, I know you are willing to risk your own life for revenge, but what about your two friends?"

These words were like a splash of cold water that woke up Pan Yue and made him calm down a little.

"I just made them unconscious temporarily, but if you don't save them, they really won't be able to wake up."

Pan Yue did not hesitate for too long. After a few seconds, she stood up and jumped into the lake without looking back.
